Title: AC: Film or Game?

Dragonballz_hero got me thinking in one of his recent comments, about sequels and movies/spinoffs, etc...
The initial through the grape-vine rumor was that Advent Children was suppose to be a game made for the PS2. Then when it was confirmed it was to be made a film instead, some were pleased, others pissed. Now that the movie has been out for a while, are you glad it was made into a film, or would you have prefered the experience of gaming through Advent Children instead?
In all honesty, I loved the film. Sure it was short, but it explained numerous things that could have left you puzzled at the end of Final Fantasy VII. A game has a helluva lot more time to fit in all the intricates and minute details, but a film is able to display the graphical excellence and capabilites of technology.
Both could have their pro's and con's. Which one do you favor?

haha, had to pick both.
ANyways, yes, the film did everything it should have done. Probably even better than a game would if it copied the film's style.
The FILM:
Pros)
Amazing CG
Good voice-overs
Awesome action
Light story
Cons)
Not everything was super fleshed-out
You can only watch
Not super re-watchable
A GAME:
Pros)
Interactive
Deeper story
Exploration
40+ hours
Cons)
Last-gen console graphics
Decent voice-overs
Could ruin the FF series
I could go into more detail, but if everyone understands why I listed certain characteristics under prros and cons, I see no reason to

AC, from the start, was meant to be Eye-Candy. It was meant to be extremely intense, highly emotional, and more action packed than any game at that point in the gaming evolution could really handle. I think the only medium that makes sense for this type of project was in movie form.
Jsut a few examples... In game format, you would completely miss out on Cloud and Friends flying through the air, bouncing from building to building, and eventually tag-teaming throwing Cloud 50 miles into the sky to defeat a freaking huge Summon.
And then there's the scene when Cloud suddenly finds himelf with Aerith... the emotional impact there wouldn't work nearly as well. Believe it or not, it wasn't until AC that I had any love for Aerith at all. I still don't like her, but something about how the movie worked gave me a level of respect for her.
Although, that could be because the movie hit me on a personal level in more than one way. FF:AC is a work of art, and it is beautiful as it is. The Game Format is for the other parts of the story.

I think it could be both, the game would be really cool, and the movie is cool.
But they would have to add a whole bunch to the game.

I suppose it would be good as a game but I think Square/Enix has too much to think about right now, Like Final Fantasy XIII and all the other PS3 releases.
Overall it was fine as a movie I think its main aim was to grab you through its cinematic scenes really though...

White Engine Testing. The entire movie, as mentioned, was eye-candy. There wasn't alot substance-wise, though many questions were answered. The movie served to show people what the White Engine was capable of.
