Title: Sequel Approval?

A debatable subject that I hope to hear go back and forth, but was FFX's sequel "FFX-2" worth being made?

FFX, my personal favorite and a high-ranking game in the Final Fantasy series. The step into the world of the Playstion 2 and the 6th generation of console gaming paved the way for FFX to be walking the Red Carpet in the end.

However, was FFX-2 a FFX-high killer? You can come straight from the emotional ending of FFX, then go into playing a Guitar Hero like introduction of Yuna kareoking at the local Concert Arena to J-Pop. Tidus sure as hell wouldn't have recognized her.

Still though, even though I feel that it did take away from the seriousness of their past journey, knowing that Yuna turned 'Spice Girl' on the world of Spira and has totally gone astray from her High Summoner life in the previous installment. It was another FF adventure which in the end, if receiving a perfect ending, shed some light on a positive ending for both Yuna and Tidus aside from the usual "we beat the baddie" scenario.

Was a sequel a good idea? Yea. Was the way they did it good? Probably not. I still would have loved an original sequel with Braska, Jecht, and Auron. Instead they focus on Yuna and two non-core characters. Hell most of the people in the sequel weren't even in the original. That always ticks me off. I want to know where they were hiding when all that previous stuff was going on. I know that'll happen again when the FFXII sequel comes out for the DS.

personally i believe it was since i know there were many people at the end of X wondering what exactly happened and were probably wishing that there would be another following though there has never been on in the past. The only thing i though cooler than the sequal to this one was the sequal to FFVII though it wasnt a game it was a movie. that was good .

I really wish you had a somewhere in the middle option.

FFX-2 was a good game. By any other name of FFX-2 would it have been great. But people like me looking for a real sequel I believe were disappointed by the shift in progression and story-telling they took.

So it was a good idea and a good game. But it was not the sequel that I was hoping for

Ah-ha! You my friend are one example why I do not put in middle opinions! Darn Fence-stradlers! :p

Actually, DBZ_hero got me thinking, would this have been an interesting movie had it been made into a film instead of a game? Imagine the graphics on that puppy.

woot for jpop girls doing karaoke.

due to the fast-pace of the game, I think that it probably would have made a better movie. Throughout most of the game you are doing sidequests and the game is rather short if you ignore them. So yea, a movie would have been more appropriate for this game.

No. I would not have imagined an FF sequel until they announced X-2.
And it would've been better if they hadn't. The game sucked, the characters were annoying, and they completely ruined Spira. The only reason I played the game was to find out what happened to Tidus.
I didn't like the idea of FFVII:AC... But it suprised me, it wasn't really bad.

But they should stop the rip-offs.

That is my exact thought on FFX-2 It wasnt really that bad it just wasn't what we wanted.

The story was dragged out a bit more, but it was interesting how they switched up so much from the previous FF games. Not the best game ever, probably one of my least favorites, but still, was a fun game to wiz through quickly.

A sequel was a good idea seeing how it was the most recent FF and the only FF on the newest gen systems, but they didn't do so well with it. It could have been alot better designed and could have had a much better storyline.. that being said, the Worst FF is still better then pretty much any other RPG... and as bad as it was compared to others, I still enjoyed playing through it.
