1. Penelo's Backstory

Next #2 then #3 and so on...

BustaMo - November 27, 2006 05:36 AM (GMT)
All I really know about Penelo is that (spoiler---->) both of her parents died during the war 2 years prior to the current time.

#2
I think the story plotline lacks the added emotional punch with any specific character. Maybe the most attached could go to Basch because of what he went through, but that only seems to matter in the beginning of the game.

lykoleon - November 28, 2006 12:36 AM (GMT)
3. an esper named Shiva :(
(why did they have to turn her into a ship!?)

Aztec Triogal - November 28, 2006 02:03 AM (GMT)
4) I wish you could have seen the armor you wore. It really ticks me off that it's not a feature in the game. I really wanted to be able to see my guys start off as dirty theives and end up as grand warriors all decked out in their legendary goodies. Hell, I just got the Zodiac spear (which apparently is one of 2?) and ... it looks like the least decorated weapon of all in the entire game. Kinda lame design. Hits like a bitch... lame design.

EDIT:

4. Indications telling you which boxes are no-nos if you want to get the Zodiac Spear -_-

HAHAHA!

laaaaaaack of a single badasssss. I really haven't found him yet. Some of those judges come close, but I just dont get that same emotional connections as I did with others.

Ffamran Demen Bunansa, former Judge, aka Balthier. Total Badass.

Also...lykoleon cant count... -.-

#7) Decent Strategies as to how to evolve and strengthen your characters. Ive restarted many many times trying to find the perfect build strategy for the license board...

#8) A gender chart for every character in the game...

Oh God, I was laughing so hard my nose started to bleed. That was hilarious. You just slipped it in there and I never even noticed. hahaha! Ahhh geez.... that was good.

9. Decent freaking technicks. There are about a half dozen good technicks on that entire board out of 2 dozen. Some of the ones they chose to include are just moronic. Lowering your opponent's strength/defense are good. Making them vulnerable to another element is good. Stealing, libra, telekenesis, 1000 Needles... all good. Hornology, Unseeing whatever, revive, numerology, stamp, infuse, charge... horrible. Just horrible. Where... where the hell was mug!? Dear lord, he's a thief and he couldn't even mug someone. Manipulate? That would have been awesome in this game! It would have worked perfectly. Things like Slash-All wouldn't have worked... but manipulate, hell ya! Self-Destruct? That's perfect for a gambit. HP > 10% = Self-Destruct. Wonderful! Not freaking there! And where the FUNK was Mighty Guard!? I mean it's one thing changing up the summons names. I'm alright with that... but taking out Mighty Guard, White Wind, those kind of things that we all know and love... now you're just fucking with me.

BustaMo - November 28, 2006 04:42 PM (GMT)
I do have to agree, I was quite surprised when I hit that part of the story...
Hush-up my friend from Virginia...hush-up.

#13 - Free airship travel over a worldmap. Ok, so a World Map in general. It has the FFX feel to it when you get the airship where you just pick where you want to go and zoom your there. Bleh.

Red Demon - November 29, 2006 12:01 AM (GMT)
AAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH SPOILERS THATS A HUGE ONE I DIDNT KNOW THAT AZA!!!!!

A worldwide Release date.

Aztec Triogal - November 30, 2006 06:02 PM (GMT)
You know one of things I would have really enjoyed in this game? Jumping. Not moronic jumping like hopping across the fields and stuff like that. As fun as that stuff is (even though it is moronic) i didn't miss it. I did miss Dragoons and those kind of classes. One of the reasons I liked Final Fantasy Tactics was that your guys started off as fairly weak individuals but by the end could warp around the map or jump to any height. I really loved seeing my guys standing tall on some incredibly high ledge that no enemy could attack you on. It would have been nice to have gambited your characters too seek out heights whenever possible.

Most of the time you're traveling in either open country or on obviously laid paths. Obviously when you're strolling through the Necrohol of Nabudis your characters don't really have any way to get to a higher height in battle... but while you're roaming through the Giza Plains, it would have been nice if Fran could have hopped on top of one of those large sun stones to snipe the enemy from a farther distance. As much as the game was open, strategic, and realistic it was still pretty run and gun at times. You never flanked an enemy. You never sneak attacked an enemy. On the mark hunts, you simply went to where the beast was and beat it with your big sharp objects until it fell down, go poof. There was never a time when you had to lie in wait for the enemy to pass a certain area then spring a trap. There was never a time when you could disable traps set in dungeons. I would have appreciated having more practical situations like those in the game.

Red Demon - December 1, 2006 12:28 AM (GMT)
Shoot... I had one... what was it...
oh yess
Blue magick.
Now, maybe I just havent come across it yet, but I havent heard any mention of being about to mimick an enemy attack in anyway. That makes me sad.

BustaMo - December 1, 2006 02:55 AM (GMT)
The Technicks sort of seem to be taking the place of the Blue Magic here. Sure you could say they are more of Specials and Skills, but some of these could have been Blue Magic abilites in other FF games had they thought of them earlier. Still though, these Technicks suck; well most at least.

Aztec Triogal - December 3, 2006 07:34 AM (GMT)
Rozzaria. When I first saw this topic it was because someone listed Rozzaria on their forum's list, which is what I was doing a search for at the time. I really wanted to be able to go there. The game talks about it from Mt. Bur Omnisace on but you never get to see it. Part of why I wanted to go there is because apparently Ivalice is divided into three continents. I would have liked to have gotten some reference to Tactics other than just the name of some the espers.

Which means you haven't played the game, so how do you know he's a badass?

BustaMo - December 4, 2006 03:17 AM (GMT)
I've avoided Wikipedia's FFXII page at all costs. I'll check it out after I beat everything in the game. I'm pretty sure I could focus all week into the game plot and have it beat by Friday, but I really want/need to work on leveling up more and beating more Hunt Marks and gaining more Espers.

Unlimated_power - December 11, 2006 02:47 PM (GMT)
I don't really think this game needs anything else this game is it own game.

DragonballZ_hero - December 11, 2006 02:53 PM (GMT)
this game is probably one of the best final fantasy games that square enix has came out with and even i compared it to the original final fantasy 7 since that was my all time favorite until this one. The story-line is good if u can keep up with it and understand it and there are emotions in the story...u just have to read between the lines. This game is a great combination of graphics, battle scenes, and whatever else that u guys can find.

BTW: what do u guys think of the chains

and as for u Aztec Tiogal...i'm just being opinionated but u said that ur not going to spoil it for anyone and for anyone not to spoil it for us. Well a final transformation could be something that could spoil it for some of us...please dont spoil it...thank u...i'm just askin u not telling u.

You mean in my other topic?

BustaMo - December 12, 2006 05:24 AM (GMT)
Yeah, I guess he's referring to the fact that in your "reactions to the ending" topic and all. I guess the outlook on spoilers and what can be considered spoilers, varies depending on the person.

Still though, like DBZ Hero said, this is in the running for being one of Squenix's finest of course. I too thought the story-line started out slow, but I'm saying about the Phon Coast area of the game is when it picks up a bit and makes you raise your eyebrows in surprise.

DragonballZ_hero - December 14, 2006 02:27 PM (GMT)
ya that was what i was referring to because knowing anything ahead of time for me would be a spoiler since i never look at anything until i beat the game at least once.

a few things that i love about the game are the facts that when u change shields it shows up differently in battle along with weapons and ya i do wish that it would show armour since that would be more realistic but that doesnt make it none-the-less a great game. another of my favorite things about this game would be the new chain thing that u can do when defeating the same type of enemy and get better and more loot for higher chains or better objects like armour. I know that around 70 something chains on the skeletons in the mines they were droping numerous iron helms and for that point of the game i couldnt buy them yet so it was good for that. The way it seems makes the game more like an online adventure game like runescape for any of u who have played it like when enemies drop things. It makes the game more interesting to me and that in its own makes for a eye opener when u get into training-n-stuff.

BustaMo - December 14, 2006 03:42 PM (GMT)
Oh man, I was in the Nabudies (sp?) Dreadlands and I was doing the Chaos side-quest for the Medallions and there was a crap load of spawning Zombies that kept coming up from the ground in the hidden area you have to go to ta get the Luster Medallion. I had up to 47 and I accidently and not-knowingly killed a zombie...but of a different type! I said "wtf?" as I looked into my TV screen, because I was attempting to get the Montblonc Trophy in the Sky Piratre's Den. Damn Zombies.

Spinningfree - December 14, 2006 11:12 PM (GMT)
The Montblanc trophy is for 50-chain, yeah? I know it's either 50 or 100

either way I have it, spending close to 4 hours walking back and fourth across the sandsea leveling will do that to you, tons of Ogur-Yensas.

DragonballZ_hero - December 18, 2006 02:28 PM (GMT)
ya i got me a 285-chain the other day in the Lushu mines where there are many skeletons and no spoilers. u can just wonder back and forth through the mines and run from anything thats not skeleton related. The bone fragments that they drop are probably one of the best things to sell early in the game for money if u are having money problems early in the game. I made about 50,000 gil in about 2 hours along with much leveling up and liscence attaining. Its a great place to get to where u want to be early in the game so i would recommend training there.
there u go and the award was for 50-chains and i dont know if u get another one after that and/or what it would be.

BustaMo - December 19, 2006 04:59 PM (GMT)
Nah, a 50 chain Trophy in teh Sky Pirates Den is the only achievement you get in that sense. You can keep going to 285 like you said, but the only real benefit of that is just to gain the better items for loot.

Also, you can get your chain level up the quickest by not picking up the loot from the early drops. Say you kill 21 Marlboro's, but do not pick up any of their loot they drop, you can easily make it to the 3rd or 4th chain level which drops the huge ass coins after 20 monsters or so. Usually it would take you about 80-some, but by avoiding picking up the initial loot dropped, you can build the chain level, hella quick.

DragonballZ_hero - December 24, 2006 09:48 AM (GMT)
ya thats kool...i didn't know that but i guess that would make sense since the faster u kill enemies that quicker the chains increase...i think the best chains to get would be the chains on creatures that are rare to find like the dinosaurs in the mines when like 3 show up the whole time....if u spent to long hours to get like 50 chains on them then i bet u would get many great rare objects, but i usually dont have the time to get that far considering that i'm always working n stuff, but i've made it to 30 hours into it so i'll make it...i would like for someone to try gettin large chains on rare monsters and seeing what they get and posting it or if someone has already dont it i would like to know about it.
