Title: Items/Loot NOT to Sell!

BustaMo - November 19, 2006 06:23 PM (GMT)
With the different approach in FFXII where you earn Gil not from defeating an enemy, but by selling what they drop, you run into the problem of possibly selling rare items. Damn.

Words of advice: BEWARE OF SELLING THE FOLLOWING ITEM'S/LOOT IN YOUR COLLECTION:

*Teleport Stone - Not very common as you get into the game but they are used to transport you from Orange Teleport Cystals around the world. Once you obtain an airship towards the latter parts of the game, selling these Teleport Stones should not b a problem. But like I said, early on they are a pain to find.

*Gysahl Greens - Can be used when encountering a Yellow Chocobo on the field. Can sell, but are not that common of an item in the game.

*Great Serpentskin - Obtained when you defeat the 4th hunt Nidhogg in the Henne Mines. You earn this from the petitioner and it goes straight to your "loot" collection. It is required for the "Patient in the Desert" side quest later on in which you exchange for a Barheim key which unlocks the path to the Esper Zalera.

*Black Orb - Rumored to be of use for something, not quite sure yet. I have it in my collection just to be safe for now.

Yeah, these are a few spots in the game where you can get majorly f'ed over if you don't know them. This is the one and only thing I do not like about FFXII, it's impossibilites of knowing what not to do. Hey, this is a forum for support man, I'm not trying to spoil anything here. Just preventing you from kicking yourself later on. :p

haha, it doesn't matter one way or another because I already sold it before seeing this. I looked at a guide to get that one esper and apparently its quite lengthy o_O I didn't read it all so I dont know, maybe some of it isn't neccessary.

I think teleport stones are the only one of those listed that I've ran into. And they are the only loot items that I have saved. I figured something that mentions teleportation is worth saving, as it very well could save me time travelling around in the future.

Hahah, good to see I'm not the only one who made the mistake of selling the Orochi/Great Snake skin. The big down side is that it's not only Zalhera that you miss out on as a result....

Red Demon - November 22, 2006 12:14 AM (GMT)
what else do you miss out on by selling it? =( damn

Sun And Steel - November 22, 2006 12:28 AM (GMT)
If it's not known then:
SPOILER

Missing out on Zalhera means missing out on the final Esper: Zodiac, since he requires you to have the other twelve Espers. It's more of a side effect but none the less it's a big blow.

END SPOILER....if it even is a spoiler.....

See, I got your PM Sun and Steel, and thanks for letting me know it, but I thought Zodiac was obtainable after getting only "10" of the Espers?
