Title: DS-DS-DS Delight!
Description: FFIII

BustaMo - November 19, 2006 01:30 AM (GMT)
So with the recent release of Final Fantasy III on the Nintendo DS, every main game in the Final Fantasy series has now made it's way to North America. Has anyone picked up the game yet and played it? I'm considering getting a DS after the holidays just for FFIII, but it's a stretch. Just wondering if anyone's gotten into it yet since it's release, or even planning on getting it.

Stephen Griffiths - November 19, 2006 02:38 AM (GMT)
Im planning on getting it... when it actually comes out in the bloody UK, as per normal the US of A and japan gets it first... but when the bad boy comes out over here im gonna be all over it like an ant on jam(lol) At the moment im keeping my sanity of waiting by playing FF dawn of souls, and FF IV on my DS... looking forward to an FFV and FFVI release too... square you play me well... i have these games all ready yet i want them on the DS so much im gonna wet my pants

Palglo - November 19, 2006 09:16 AM (GMT)
Same as SG, I'm gonna get this the day it comes out, when the dam thing does come out of course. Europe/UK sucks for gamers, supid multi-region encoding.

But yeah can wait for the game, now im going to have to avoid the Oldschool forum as well as the Damalasca Forum -_-

I bought the game on day-of-release, like I do with every game I buy. Its pretty good so far. The graphical enhancements are pretty cool, and in some ways, required. One of the only annoying things about the game is that there are a bunch of places where you can only move forward after finding the hidden lever to open up a door, which you can only see if you walk around with the camera zoomed in all the way.

That's why I'm not getting one...I wish it was on GBA without the graphics enhancements, which would make it more old school..or like a PS2 bundle pack with chrono trigger and FFTA or something...that would be nice.

There was a lovely moment in time when Play Asia were offering both F.F.3 and Pheonix Wright 2 for £35, yes, I couldn't believe my bloody eyes either.

But alas, such a golden deal had to vanish at some point and the necessary money did not materialise in time, such is the painful life of the importer.

That said Final Fantasy 12 should keep me going for another couple of months at the rate I'm going but I'm still very keen to get ahold of no.3, depending on how long it takes to be released in Europe it may have to take second spot behind Castlevania: portrait Of Ruin in terms of priority though.

I'm trying to get my hands on as many of the FF games as possible so I bought a Nintendo DS just for FFIII and eventually when Relevent Wings releases. Wow, the future wishlist of games is very very promising here soon.

I`m in the U.K too and its bloody annoying having to wait several months longer than Americans or the Japanese, But I can`t do anything to speed up game production so i`ll just have to wait for FFIII. I have the original DS its ok but its hardly ever played by me mostly my brother mainly because I have a PS2 with a ton of FF games and a GameCube with Crystal Chronicles. Is there an major difference between the original DS and the DS Lite apart from the DS Lite has a more sleek and appealing appearance?

BustaMo - January 4, 2007 09:07 PM (GMT)
If by differences you mean gameplay-wise and all that jazz involving the actual FFIII game, I don't think you will have to worry about that. The DS lite and the DS play same games if I'm not mistaken. I've never played a DS before so I'm no expert on them, but teh games should coincide.

Lionheart - January 6, 2007 03:39 PM (GMT)
I have a normal DS as well, but the only difference between that one and the Lite is that the Lite looks better and weighs less.

Is FFIII worth buying a DS? I had one and then sold it because they didn't have any good games at the time. But now they have a lot of great games AND a really cool looking DS. So should I get one??

BustaMo - January 29, 2007 09:44 PM (GMT)
Well, I'm NOT going to spend big $$ on a handheld which I only want to play 1 game on (well, FFXII: Revenant Wings is coming out too, I forgot), but I will most likely borrow FFIII and a DS from my assistant manager at work and play it that way. One way or another, I am playing that game!

Maybe I'll just steal Relient A's copy since he isn't using it right now.

I need to get a DS. My little bro and sis each have their own and I need to get one so I can crus...I mean, play against them in a friendly manner.

But yea, this will be my first game when I finally get to buying one.

LOL! That's great.

If I ever get unlazy and find my charger I'll dig out the game and play it again. Maybe I'll do it tonight. So, sorry Busta, no game for you.

BustaMo - January 30, 2007 05:21 AM (GMT)
So is the DS a handheld that you can connect and play against other DS players with? Like, I have no idea what the multiplayer value would be. How does it work?

LOL! That's great.

Also, killjoy, try to make the post your making a bit more than just 3 words. Try to expand on what you find great about the post, or something that someone has said since your previous post. :)

Isn't tales of the tempest japan only?

Cait_Sith123 - July 12, 2007 01:33 AM (GMT)
I didn't really like FFIII. I agree that the graphics were great, but having to go through a dungeon minied, I don't think so.

Oh yeah, and the DS has WiFi so you can play w/ people far away. I do not have it though.

Stephen Griffiths - July 12, 2007 04:03 AM (GMT)
I thought it was a very poor game, The dungeons were too hard(no saves) and the amount of phx downs you got was pathetic.

Lionheart - July 12, 2007 07:30 AM (GMT)
^But, that again made the game challenging. The GBA versions of the old FFs were way too easy, this was better. I don't like games you can just walk through without ever getting frustrated xD

But, the mini thing was kinda annoying. You had to constantly flee or use up all of your MP. That sucked.

BustaMo - July 12, 2007 04:10 PM (GMT)
I'm still looking forward to eventually playing this game, but I'll probably end up borrowing a DS from my assistant manage at work, and then end up buying the game myself since he doesn't have it. I'm curious to play it and excited as well, but I still ahve to beat FFIV, and start up FF Origins (I + II).

Cait_Sith123 - July 27, 2007 03:25 AM (GMT)
What sucked also was when u go toad and ibeat that mini dungeon it asquite easy ith desch i beat medusa 2 but i lost to gutsco.

ff oigins was the second best 2 FFVII Dirge of Ceberus
