Title: Halfway done
BustaMo - March 6, 2006 09:12 PM (GMT)
Well just got done facing the Esper Carbunkle to gain him as an esper, now I got two more big boss fights to go until End of World 2, which is halfway done I'm guessing since there are 4 worlds.
I got a boss fight with Gilgamesh left, and then a battle with the main boss of teh game, X-Death...I'm pumped. 'Bout to duke it out with Gilgamesh. I'll let ya know how it goes later on! Dang I gotta finish this game soon!

zerhino - March 6, 2006 10:26 PM (GMT)
You are beating me by a whole XDeaths castle :)
BustaMo - March 7, 2006 03:37 AM (GMT)
Are you right before entering it, after the fight with teh Seal bosses and the small X-death encounter?
Oh yea, beat Gilgamesh ealier before work today. Not bad. Its wayyyy easier fighting one enemy, even if its a boss, than 4...
Gilg has about 20,000 HP and I handeled him fairly easily; you shouldn't have that hard of a time with him Zerhino. Carbunkle was harder.
Next up: X-Death. 32,000+ HP...this'll be fun.
Aztec Triogal - March 7, 2006 03:40 AM (GMT)
Although, you have to keep in mind that Busta leveled to lvl 325 just to beat the Seal weapons... then used the Samurai $$$ attack anyhow :P So his account of an enemies difficulty might be skewed, seeing as his men can now leap buildings in a single bound. lol
BustaMo - March 7, 2006 01:47 PM (GMT)
lol, I'm at level 33 with my characters right now. X-Death wasn't all that bad. I got a good strategy now for defeating high HP bosses with my weak characters.
I beat X-Death last night, got into World 3, and now...got a whole new adventure ahead of me. :-D
Aztec Triogal - March 7, 2006 05:32 PM (GMT)
zerhino - March 9, 2006 01:23 AM (GMT)
Well, I think I stopped playing at some point. After I finish FFIX I'll have to start it up again.
BustaMo - March 11, 2006 02:27 PM (GMT)
Whoa, the game is getting really really good. This is how a Final Fantasy game should be. Needing to find lithographs in 4 distinct locations/shrines in order to unlock 12 leagendary weapons needed to assist in defeating the main boss of the game. All while X-Death is causing havoc on the "2 planets" (in quotes because there is a spoiler to the planets I will not reveal). I'm not to far from the end of World 3 which is right around the corner from...The End!
Aztec Triogal - March 11, 2006 03:26 PM (GMT)
Awesome, I'm really getting excited about this game. I hope it's as good as you make it out to be. I can't wait.
zerhino - March 11, 2006 03:45 PM (GMT)
Whatever spoiler it is you are talking about, I'm not there yet...and to tell the truth most of the story is all gone from my brain..
I haven't been to the part you are at yet but I hear there is a really hard boss you must face quite soon.
BustaMo - March 13, 2006 05:26 AM (GMT)
Ahh I jsut collected all 4 of the lithographs from the 4 shrines (hence name of this subforum :-p ), collected all 12 legendary weapons...BEAT LEVIATHAN and got him as a summon! On to World 4 now as I enter the N-Zone and work my way to confront...dun dun dun...the main boss!!
I might do some extra side quests though to get Bahamut maybe. Not sure yet.
Aztec Triogal - March 13, 2006 04:08 PM (GMT)
AWESOME! That's so sweet! Beat it! Beat it! Beat it!
Brady - March 14, 2006 04:24 PM (GMT)
Don't want to spoil anything, but let me just say this: there aren't many save points, and the few you have are very spaced out (the last one has to be earned in a mini-boss fight), and if you see a little robot thing wandering around, avoid it unless you're confident you can beat an enemy that is potentially tougher than the last boss... that robot would be Omega, and we all know the legacy that enemies known as Omega have...

Oh damn. I knew he was near the end of the game, but didn't know he was out in the open like that. Thanks for the heads up. I knew he was somewhere to be found, and of course a pain in the ass to fight as usual.
Few save points, huh? Dang. I'll be spending some quality time getting all I need before I head in there. I heard the N-Zone is basically...the toughest place to wander around in.
EDIT: Got the Phoenix summon after doiong a sidequest today and whadda ya know...you get a little bit of the story revealed to you! It was awesome. You find out about Reina's mom and why she ended up dying before the game started. Then...dang...just go play the game! The Dragon scene though...touching...truely touching...
Mog Hunter - March 16, 2006 05:59 PM (GMT)
I dont get it is this game ff5 or 6 since 6 has espers. I havent played ff5 really but just wondering what you are talking about here (a bit confused). Its said at the beggining of this thread.
BustaMo - March 16, 2006 06:04 PM (GMT)
Well in FFVI, goddesses turned several groups of humans into magical creatures called Espers. So you are right, they are in FFVI. As for in FFV, they are also present as well as summons (basically same name). The last time I remember seeing it in FFV when I was playing was when I defeated Carbunkle and it said "received the Carbunkle Esper" (fan-fare music playing in background :-p)
Other times in the game though like when I received the Titan summon it just simple says: "Received the Summon, Titan" (fan-fare once again for added affect).
I don't think there is much of a difference besides the fact that Esper's are a bigger part of the story in FFVI, which I will begin to play after I beat FFV, return Aztec's PS2 back to him, and go buy a new PS2 again for myself. Hope that clears up some of it for you Mog Hunter.
Mog Hunter - March 16, 2006 06:33 PM (GMT)
Thanks again, I dont know what I would do without you. :aeris:
Mog Hunter - March 17, 2006 03:31 PM (GMT)
I began playing ff5 and i seems to be a good game which has a great job system even though im not sure on what job to give who but maybe ill figure it out eventualy. Just past when the water crystal shatters and you get some new classes like red mage and beserker. Are summonings any good now? Should I assign someone to be one?
BustaMo - March 17, 2006 04:38 PM (GMT)
You may want to make Reina your summoner to start off with as she tends to be a weaker strengthed character but turns out to be a pretty good summoner. When you get a girl named Faris on your team (the Pirate) you may want to teach her a couple levels of summoning as well so give her the job for a bit, but I use her as a Ninja and Samurai mostly.
For Bartz and Galuf, work on them as Knights. You also may want to work on Reina as a White Mage as well for curing purposes and healing status ailments. Here this may be less confusing:
Bartz: Kight; Samurai, Ninja
Galuf: Knight; Samurai; Ninja
Reina: White Mage; Summoner
Faris: Black Mage; Summoner; Ninja
I try to get everyone at least to a level 1 White Mage so they can at least cast Cure when needed.
Mog Hunter - March 18, 2006 10:47 AM (GMT)
Thanks for helping me out.But I just got stuck trying to beat some fire boss when your on Cids ship. I tried it like 10 times already. I know he has weakness to ice but he keeps on killing me. Any ideas?
zerhino - March 18, 2006 12:39 PM (GMT)
Oh man, I got stuck on this one too.
Strategy: I haven't played in along time but...
Cast Protect on everyone(if you have it). Summon shiva, cast Blizzard 2, Use galuf as a monk and have him use Power, Bartz as a Lancer(forgive if you don't have these jobs) have him jump, or a knight. Reina, although BM should also cast Cure 2 and and Blizzard 2 and Faris summon Shiva.
Like I said, haven't played this game in a long time so if the jobs/spells you don't have yet then don't yell at me...
Drift - March 18, 2006 01:02 PM (GMT)
I'm not 100% sure... But are you referring to:
Liquid Flame
Liquid flame has different 'forms', so basically:
Human form: Will attack with Fire
Hand Form: Will attack with physical
Tornado form: Heals himself
The basic strategy for this battle is: DO NOT ATTACK WHEN HE IS IN HAND FORM! If you do, he will counter attack...
When he is in 'human form', or 'tornado form', attack using ice and shiva as much as possible, and as he turns into 'hand form', simply stop attacking and heal your characters.
Note: Pysically attacking him while he is in 'hand form' will cause him to counter attack, but also come out of 'hand form'.
Aztec Triogal - March 19, 2006 03:05 AM (GMT)
BustaMo is stuck on Twin Tania right before X-Death. Just .... give us a strategy. There are iron giants to level up on ... but they're beasts and Busta is low on health products. Low as in.... 2 left. So if you can spell "screwed", you've pretty much hit it on the nose. We can't leave the N-Zone because the battle where you open the book switches the library around and basically traps ya.
We just can't hurt the bastard fast enough to take him down. He's 50,000 HP and he's just... a big bitch. lol If anyone can offer a solution it'd be much abliged.
EDIT: Hahahaha, nevermind. Busta and I tried a Holy strategy and we kicked his ass. Whooo boy... that was soo freaking awesome.
BustaMo - March 19, 2006 07:08 AM (GMT)
Wow...I made it all the way through teh N-Zone and am facing X-Death and Neo X-Death as teh final bosses...I can beat X-Death after chucking my inventory at him, but Neo X-Death has 220,000 HP and I can only get about 6,000 off of him before he shoots my party to TIm-buk-tu. I tried numerous times but realized I may ahve entered the N-zone way to early for my characters and may have to go back to my save point prior to entering, level up and get more abilites and hidden junk, then go through the whole N-Zone again...
Thank God I saved right before going in. Also now I kow how to beta each Boss so it should not be all that difficult the second time through the N-Zone.
Aztec Triogal - March 19, 2006 07:13 AM (GMT)
Yea, we even tried to be cheap and have a chemist mix "Maiden's Kiss" with "Holy Drink" but *someone*, who shall rename nameless, used all the Maiden's Kisses during an earlier battle. lol It was kinda funny though... Busta goes "Man, so she turns my party into frogs... freaking great. Now if only I have four Maiden's Kisses... *checks* I do! My God this game loves me! Finally, some good luck!!!" and then an hour later we're like "Stupid sonova bitch game! You stole all my Maiden's Kisses! I needed one more for the mix to defeat Neo X-Death!"
Brady - March 19, 2006 05:48 PM (GMT)
You know, Busta, if you save right before fighting X-Death, that is a great area to fight enemies and gain AP. Especially if you find the Mover enemies (little red floating bouncy-ball type things), they give beaucoup AP for wiping them out.
Just don't start over before all those boss fights though, if anything, if you can manage, try fighting your way back out through the N-Zone and then fight your way back in. 'Course, don't use all your Gil to buy supplies. $Toss works wonders on both forms of X-Death. Remember with $Toss, the damage you cause is roughly equal to the amount of Gil you use. So chunking 10,000 Gil each turn will cause mega damage. Keep up Haste on everyone and just make sure everyone stays alive (it affects the ending)
Aztec Triogal - March 19, 2006 08:25 PM (GMT)
How can you fight your way out of the N-Zone though if that one library room was switched around? Is there any other way out to get back to the part that Omega was in. Also, the situation he's in now is pretty grave. He has no potions, ethers, elixirs... and one cottage that he has to use right away. I guess you could still make it out with the DustB. ability... just run from everything.
I guess if there was a secret way out something like the theif's sight thing would help, right? I'm just starting the game myself so I'm kinda clueless. Pat of the problem is that we were developing strategies and formulas at 1AM which means most of them were pretty darn horrible. lol
Brady - March 19, 2006 09:50 PM (GMT)
It's been a while since I played FFV, but I'm pretty sure that you can leave the N-Zone, even after entering...simply go backwards. Granted, it's a long and tough dungeon.
But now you've got me second-guessing my already lousy memory... so now I will have to go obsessively confirm myself by digging up that save and going backwards...
BustaMo - March 20, 2006 09:35 PM (GMT)
Yeah, that room/library was the place that was throwing me off Brady. Because when you exit it after the boos fight after opening the book, you are on a whole new path going deeper into the N-Zone. WHat also ticks me off is that in Mirage Village everyone is frozen so you can't interact with anyone like you could when you visit Mirage Village in World 3 before heading into teh N-Zone.
*Cries: "I just need some healing items and a few more levels of experience...." :-(
Aztec Triogal - March 21, 2006 03:27 AM (GMT)
Screw this game, I'm going home! hahaha
RAWR!!!! It's a great game and it's wonderful to play... but there are parts that are making me piss blood in anger. I'm absolutely breezing through the game without a care... then they go "Hey, why don't you get Adamantine for your ship so you can go higher? I could just like... freaking strap balloons on the side or fill the cargohold with helium since I'm the world's best scientist and all... but I'd much rather you go to a alien meteor, which I'm sure is perfectly safe even though I've never f*cking been there, and retreive a heavy heavy rock which will somehow make you float higher. Don't question me, I'm an expert!"
And we walk up to the meteor... a collection of natural rock and space debris... and Galuf like... takes a wizz on the side or something and the thing opens up. You walk inside and you go to leave... and here comes Sir Sonovabitch from the ceiling. He just drops down and goes "Hey, my HP is low... I bet you can beat me!" and then you hit him for like 5 hitpoints and he gives you a tittietwister for like 1000 HP. Damn jerk.
I read up on some freaking strategies... apparently he's open to lvl 5 death, which you can only get if your characters are at a level which is a multiple of 5, which mine never were. Bastard... freaking stupid game. lol I hate just barebones leveling.
BustaMo - March 21, 2006 01:50 PM (GMT)
Well it is a game of patience I think; especially when dealing with the enemies and how weak your characters are. Do not however spend 5 months facing off against one boss!! Otherwise just go throw and as you progress in the story you will fell like you are progressing steadily through the game. It's not all that long just it's filled with so many "fillers" in the game like:
*Face 6 little Green Mage looking characters at the end of the game when the dang strategy guide and Game FAQS walkthrough says its required when in all actuality you can skip right over it, you just have to use your brain in seeing it's pointless.*
Aztec Triogal - March 21, 2006 02:38 PM (GMT)
Hahaha yea, I know exactly what you mean. The FAQ I've been using (since I refuse to get lost or play it over again to get everything) is pretty decent and has a lot of good tips... but the guy is masochistic. Every once in a while he'll just send me off into an area I'm incredibly unprepared for... and I just get taken *out*. For instance, there is an enemy in the bottom of Walz castle that is incredibly hard to damage and hits for 500. lol I'm level 10 and he's like "Yea, walk on down there and pick up the GP and things lying around", like it was no big chore.
I'm just gonna level when I get home and beef my guys up. I hate doing it but it's not like there's a real downside to it. It'll only help me in the future.
