Title: AC in Europe?

BustaMo - February 10, 2006 05:16 PM (GMT)
Hate the words "Coming Soon" and just want a darn date?

It's been announced that FFVII: AC will be released in Europe on April 24, 2006. Hopefully no more delays. Should be on sale for abouot 30 Euros. Other sources havce stated June for areas around France, but apparently the April date comes from Eurogamer which is fairly reliable.

Saw the article on FFworld

Hmmmmmm I have serious doubts about this piece of news. My main reasoning is that it hasn't even come out in America yet. Of course this could be a release in both America and Europe but I dunno something doesn't feel right... Esspecially as there is no news about it on adventchildren.net all they say is that SquareEnix are have only said that it'll be released sometime in 2006, no specific dates.

Another reason why I have doubts is because PAL runs at a different frame rate (25 frames oer second) to NTSC (30 frames per second) which means that ALOT of time will be spent re-jigging the animation for PAL. Wow I actually learnt something in my Animation classes! lol! If they didn't take out some frames all the timing/lip syncing will be out with the Audio and it'll mean that the film doens't last as long... It's hard to explain... But yeah, I'm sure you all get the idea. Kinda makes complaining about stuff taking ages to be released over here justifed. Esspecially as it's the same for computer games too.

I guess all we can do is hope that the announcement is true!

Well just wondering as to not sound like the "rumor weed", can I post the website link or would that be considered advertising? It's some Japanese site, but can be translated into English. Would make it more of their news, than mine if so. As to say 'don't shoot the messenger'.

I've heard 2 different release dates for Final Fantasy Advent Children; April 2006 and the fall of 2006 (something like August-December). I preordered it last month but the film (film... I typed game accidently then =S) was delayed to April according to the website I ordered it from.
(I'm talking about the European release date just to make sure everyone is on the same lines as me and no-one gets confused).

BustaMo - February 10, 2006 10:11 PM (GMT)
Nope the April date is definately right. RPGamer.com has it announced that Sony has made it official.

EDIT:

Update (02.10.06)

According to German website GameStar, Sony is reportedly denying ever having officially given a release date for Advent Children. As of now, there is still no confirmed date for the European or North American release of this film. We apologize for the confusion.

RPGamer took back their article and admitted their mistake. Grrrr...

It just seems to be getting later and later!
i'm really looking forward to it, but why should we have to wait so long?

TheMissingCloud - February 12, 2006 10:53 PM (GMT)
Yet more rumored release dates for AC:

According to AdventChildren.net a couple of days ago the offical AC website's News section was updated with information on the new confirmed voice actors for the english version which includes Steve Burton playing Cloud (he also played Cloud's voice in KH and KH2), Rachel Leigh Cook as Tifa and Mena Suvari as Aerith. FF7Citadel also claims the offical AC website put up News regarding the american release date which was suposed to be April 25th but upon vising the offical AC website there is nothing in the news section except the mysterious date "Feb 10, 2006". No more about that has been revealed yet and now it seems the offical website seems to toying with us on an estimated release date. I for one would like to assume that AC will come out around the middle of this year anytime around KH2's release in March, to sometime in June or July. Hopefully we will not have to wait until near the end of this year to see AC as there is no excuse for delaying it a year from the Japanese release date.

Typical Square. Push back, delay, push back, delay...yawn.

And Feb 10, 2006 has definately come and past so that's outta the question.

TheMissingCloud - February 13, 2006 02:48 AM (GMT)
Yeah I think that just might have been some glitch posting the day that they updated the news. Still these false release dates are getting rather old.

BustaMo - February 13, 2006 03:01 AM (GMT)
I wish that the official Square Enix or Sony site would confirm their issues and updates more often. The official SE site hardly puts any updates out on artciles and the main source of news comes from Japanese websites that translate the news and we end up finding the big news on RPGamer.com, or RPGfan, yada yada.

They need a site that spits out info and junk when it's announced so we know what's going on.

Vespertine - February 13, 2006 02:10 PM (GMT)
I'm so confused as to what's going on with AC. Square Enix reports that there's no set release date and yet all the websites I've been on where you can buy AC (play.com, virgin megastores, and amazon) all have the 24/04/2006 as the release date which was never stated on those websites before... Yet if you go on the Sony Entertainment website (which was given in a US advert for AC) it says nothing about AC anywhere on the page...

What's going on!!?!!? I'm so confused! Why do all those shopping websites have the 24/04 as the release date if SE claims it's not officially given one????

BustaMo - February 13, 2006 04:32 PM (GMT)
I just wish they would take the japanese one they already have out, translate it, get their character voices in English, and release the game. I don;t want any bonuses really; just the game would suit me fine. Seriously SE, get a move on it.

Unfortunatly it's not as simple as adding the english voices for the European version.

They also have to play around with lip syncing too (I'ld imagine) to make it fit our language better. They're probably having issues getting all the voice actors together as well. I guess since I've started doing animation myself I kinda sympathise with how long it's taking to release over here, as annoying as it is. SE are probably putting all their efforts into the Japanese launch of FFXII too which maybe why AC has been put on the backburners. It's not fair to keep the fans waiting but sometimes it can't be helped!

BustaMo - February 13, 2006 05:14 PM (GMT)
Vespetinny the Great:
Good point about the lip syncing. However, I would rather have them spend more time on the release of FFXII than Advent Children at this point. All depends on what you would prefer. They are the experts at what their doing over there, I put my faith in them.
