Title: is 10-2 worth it?
Description: is 10-2 worth the time and money?

REDXVII - December 21, 2005 07:21 AM (GMT)
I just played and beat 10 and i need opinions on if 10-2 is worth the time and money. I enjoyed 10 and im hoping that 10-2 doesnt butcher the first one.

Stephanie - December 21, 2005 07:57 AM (GMT)
Hmm well it shouldnt really be here but I'll give my opinion anyway.

If your a girl it will be way more fun, or a really freaky pervy boy anyway I loved the game just because it was upppy and cool I mean there wasnt much to it in the way of skill but fun non the less.

Drift - December 21, 2005 10:33 AM (GMT)
It's a great game by itself, but when compared to FFX in regard to gameplay and style, it's a major dissapointment.

Although, if you want to resolve the ending of FFX, then it is VITAL. It didn't live up to FFX, yet it was still a great game, worth the money and worth the time.

FFX-2 actually made me appreciate FFX more, so if you're an FFX fan... definately get it.

Vespertine - December 21, 2005 11:52 AM (GMT)

I would have to say FFX-2 is a very pretty-fied, girly game. In my opinion it's no where near as good as FFX and although it's my least fave FF I have to admit it's not completely rubbish and a damn site better than some other RPG's out there.

If you are really not sure wether or not to buy it then I would suggest renting it out for a couple of days. It'll be cheaper and if you then really don't like the game you haven't wasted lotsa money!

PrinterFrog - December 22, 2005 12:11 AM (GMT)
I agree with Vespi; it really is a girly game. It wasn't near as good as all the other FF's, yet it's a whole lot better than most other RPGs. I think you should buy it (if you don't have the ability to rent it first), because its a game worth having.

Stephanie - December 22, 2005 10:44 AM (GMT)
I don't think it was supposed to be a 'full' game in the first place more like a rather long side quest on the end of FFX that needed an extra disk.

BlacK Winter Night - December 24, 2005 07:11 PM (GMT)
In my opinion but dont let it throw u off.. i really didnt like x-2.. its just not an ff game to me.. and the story of it really aint so good

zerhino - December 24, 2005 07:48 PM (GMT)
I had some fun with it, lots of freedom to do whatever like an rpg should have. Best of all, the jobs are back!

BlacK Winter Night - December 24, 2005 08:35 PM (GMT)
The jobs are the thing that really got to me.. it annoyed the hell out of me and the fact that she isnt a summoner anymore.. she is a sphere hunter? :P

BustaMo - December 25, 2005 02:15 AM (GMT)
Well with no more summoning, yea it sucked. I mean yea it was a Final Fantasy, but without the summons, it's way straying from the norm. It was fun to play through because I loved FFX so much, just definately FFX-2 is not one of my top FF's in terms of favorites.

Yeah that did throw me a bit that there was no summoning, thats why it was so unlike other FF. I mean there 'special' dressspheres were supposed to be the same as summons in other games but it just didnt match up.

shivadiva - December 27, 2005 05:27 PM (GMT)
i know here that it sell for very cheap used, i got my copy for $5.99, (us dollars) which i like a dollar more than it would cost to rent it, as for the game, personally i dont like it to much, but really you should decide that for your self

BlacK Winter Night - December 29, 2005 12:35 AM (GMT)
Hell, i payed like £40 which is like i dunno how many dollars but still its quite a lot anyways as far as i know, and i defo know now that i was daft to pay that :P

Tiyin - January 1, 2006 09:46 AM (GMT)
My opinion on FFX-2 is...It sux.
The dress-sphere thing is kinda cool...But the story sucked and it was WAY too short...Big dissapointment for me. >.>

SpinningFree - January 1, 2006 02:16 PM (GMT)
I quite liked it, I might be the only one. Sure it was a little girly for me... okay it was a LOT girly for me, but once you get past that the storyline was wicked and there were so many side quests and little things that affect the story in different ways.

Tiyin - January 1, 2006 08:19 PM (GMT)
Yea there was a lot of awesome side quests but I hate a game if it dosent have a good story...The battle system was cool too it was old school type..

Sora! - January 1, 2006 11:42 PM (GMT)
Yea it was but its hella hard good damn I couldent beat the 146,000 monster and besides that my sister erased so now im on Ixion I think im never going to beat it :cloud: *sigh*

Normally Odd - January 2, 2006 07:29 PM (GMT)
No. Horrid game in every sense- the story, the characters, the different "spheres", and the tedious requirement to get 100% to unlock the special ending. the minigame (sphere break) is crap and blitzball in it sucks major booty compared to 10. best i can say is either steal it, find it, or steal somebodys money and rent it.

Leona - January 3, 2006 12:34 AM (GMT)
its worth playing,... apart from the pretty lame story, and the charcters personalitys.. its a pretty good game and definatly a RPG worth playing!! the battle system is fun to play and learning abilities/leveling up and stuff is good. admittedly the some of the side quests are pretty sucky... but it still makes for a good 40 hours or so!!!

yeah, so basically... If your expecting another FFX you'll be pretty disapointed (and if your expecting another FFVII you'll cry!!) but... just coz its not as amazing as previous FF's... its still a worth RPG and stll beats most PS2 PRG's.

Sora! - January 3, 2006 02:57 AM (GMT)
I guess you can say that

Azarath Angel - January 3, 2006 04:06 AM (GMT)
If you like final fantasy...yes. If you kinda of like final fantasy...yes. If you dont like final fantasy...hmm...yes. Are there better rpg's out there...yes. Seriously, if you are having doubts about this game, dont buy it. Try an rpg such as Shin Megami Tensai...er whatever its called...Digital Devil Saga.

clairebear - January 3, 2006 08:10 AM (GMT)
Look i've been playing FF for many moons now guys and i really wasnt impressed with x or x-2.

I thought they both kinda sucked!!! Its the voices! they should have jsut kept it as text and never have brought in them speaking.

As for x-2 not having any summons that just broke me, whats the point of ff without summons?

Azarath Angel - January 3, 2006 12:46 PM (GMT)
Well the aeons were in X-2, just as bosses. But you did get the equivelant of summons with the special dressspheres. They were kick ass if you spent the time to learn their abilities.

-Vivi- - January 3, 2006 09:39 PM (GMT)
it is no where near as good as FFX, but it does have it good points... like the side quests and the battle system. Also... since it has been out a while... now it will be cheap, so you won't waste too much money even if you don't like it :D

Nirvanea - January 3, 2006 10:45 PM (GMT)
ffx-2 is definitely a lot more "happy" than the first, but it is overall a must-buy! the storyline is so much more incredibly simpler than the first as well, but still, like the first, it's a good one. a lot of the CG sequences r awesome, especially the famous 1000 Words video, which gave me chills just watching it. i replayed the video at least 15 times. the new dress sphere feature is a really nice addition, along with the gullwings airship. there r multiple endings to the story depending on the percentage of game completion you've acquired, and that, i also add, is a nice new feature. i received 100% and the extra ending on there is so nice. so, definitely a must-have game! catch ya on the flipside. ^_^ lol, betcha haven't heard that one in a while, huh? *wink* lol

clairebear - January 4, 2006 08:01 AM (GMT)
I just see them as the Final Fantasy francise's downfall. They both (especially x-2) loose everything that is typically FF.

The magic just isnt really there for me with them.

Trance_Kuja - January 4, 2006 10:29 PM (GMT)
Agreed X-2 was a major dissapointment.. Al though i did'nt mind X... Just the fact that you cant really level up kills me...

What dya mean, you cant level up?.. you can level up.. its just in a slightly different way.. instead of fighting random battles and leveling up... you fight random battles, get sphere levels, and use them to level up in the area's you choose. Thus making your charactres more customisable (is that a word?!?) and giving you something else to do.

I thought it was a much more enjoyable way of leveling up than just fighting and leveling up automatically.

Nah i always remember the fact of talking amoungst mates about what level we were... I think leveling up gives you an idea as to how strong you are on the game. Another thing i dont like about ffX... is the fact of break damage limit.. it just makes the game to easy.. and it eventually... jsut gets boring...

anyways back to X-2.. I would'nt buy it if i was you

SonicFire - January 8, 2006 11:43 PM (GMT)
I would only buy it if you want to see the last of FFX.

No, I don't think so hahahahah

Well I personally don't think its that bad but I would buy it anyway because its already gone platnum here and it wont be soon until you can buy it for like $20 and then theres no harm done and plus they actually did quite well in re-doing some of the towns and stuff and you will get extra bits of story that will make you feel all mushy inside.

zerhino - January 14, 2006 04:30 PM (GMT)
If you like games where you can choose what you want to do and when, with lots of side quests, and you like the jobs, get this game.
Otherwise, don't bother. I played this for quite awhile before I got bored of it. There is a good replay value, because there is so much to do. It breaks off from convential final fantasy, where there was a path to follow. You choose how to advance the game, although you have to do something to get to the next area. However, the battles may get repetetove and boring after awhile.

Kadaj the Nimble - January 22, 2006 04:40 PM (GMT)
Boring Boring Boring the characters are boring and the storyline was boring. Can we see a main villain or something? The only thing was that monstruous vegnagun. I need a human villain. I hated every aspect about this game. Go all turn based or all real time because the semi-turn based bugged the fuck out of me.

Trollhorn - March 7, 2006 01:02 PM (GMT)
Definitely NOT

Vaskal - March 8, 2006 05:33 PM (GMT)
Personally, I enjoyed the game. If you want my full opinion, check out my review on RPG Player's Realm. That brings back some memories...

And as a side note, I'm no longer a staff member at RPGPR, though still keep in touch with the vast majority of the staff and both administrators.

BustaMo - March 8, 2006 07:00 PM (GMT)
Yeah, I believe the game was good, but I think I will like it a lot better when I go through it again on the New Game Plus and get 100% with the Perfect Ending. That was a thorough and good review Vaskal (pisses Aztec off), and I believe for a sequal, they could not have picked a better game for it to be done to.

Aztec Triogal - March 8, 2006 07:35 PM (GMT)
No, you can't read Vaskal's review. Because freaking Vaskal doesn't have a review on our site. Kidro has one. Not this queer-ass Vaskal person. :P
