masamune, it is the most powerful weapon and the sword that only sephiroth can use.

to be honest i reckon the buster sword ways more than the masamune but i chose the masamune cos i'd want a katana but they're never really long enough

OK mine is a weird choice but i firmly believe in it and to prevent me getting cussed about it i'll explain.

I voted staff, if you've ever seen what a monk can do with one then you'd know why.

For those who dont:

A staff is so versatile, it is very effective at range and in close combat, offensive AND defensive katas are awesome and....best of all, just twitching your wrist at the right time can turn a fatal blow into a stunning deflection shot. The tip of the staff can also be used for surgical attacks against wrists, ankles and knees. There are so many styles (smooth flowing sweeps or rapid hard jabs) that you can adapt to most if not all opponent's fighting styles. It is also effective against multiple simultaneous targets and requires next to nothing in the way of energy to swing the staff correctly.

Also, you can act really damn smug after disarming a horde of gun totting, sword-swinging louts then smacking them around the room using what basically amounts to just a large stick.

Swords are cool and so are staffs, but I'm a long range, bob-gun person so I have to go with shuriken.

Shuriken... they're coolish... none of those weapons appeal to me. I suppose the staff is actually the closest to what my choice would be if it were there. A scythe.

AS to how they can call that rediculous hunk of flying death that yuffie wields a shuriken is unknown to me...BUt it is cool as hell! Personally, I'd take either Vencent's gun or the Shuriken...

I would have too use "whatever Red XIII uses" even though its teeth and claws because its probably stronger than a fist, what hurts worse, getting your hand bit off, ou getting your hand punched in, and like someone said, you can drop em, so theres no harm in defence....sorta..

Yeah.. i agree with the swords all the way.. all of them in the ff games are badass :D

Well, Red XIII has been my favorite character since '97 and before I even owned the game, but I won't choose his.

I really really want to learn how to use a sword, but I will stick with the Gun. Someday, somebody will try to look all cool by attacking me with a sword, but I'll just Indiana Jones him and shoot the guy before he got within 10 yards (or meters for you non-American folk) of me.

hah.. yeah that part in Indiana is funny.. i guess i just love the swords in any game coz ive loved the idea of them for ages and also i have a replica of one in my room so i ccouldnt say anything more ...
