For a buncha girls who seem to love Kakashi, I don't seem to see a Naruto thread on here yet. So in the spirit of Naruto I'm gonna open this thread... for (as the Ero-Sennin would put it) strictly data gathering purposes of course.

naruto rocks my socks! I love this anime/manga and it just seems to be getting better and better! The anime has yet to be licensed, so it's still available for download and it's up to almost what, 90-something in episodes? good good stuff. For those that haven't heard of it, here's a brief summary -

The manga is about ninjas in training, one little ninja in particular, Naruto. He grew up without parents, and the spirit of a giant demon nine-tailed fox sealed inside him... so the ninja village tends to shun him. His #1 goal in life is to become Hokage(the BEST ninja in the village) and make all the people that shunned him finally recognize that he's a really awesome ninja. Did I mention there's ninjas? ...'cause... There's NINJAS! Ninja in training are put into groups of 3. Naruto is in a group with a brooding angsty bishounen type, Sasuke; and a bubbly, feminine, shy girl, Sakura. Their sensei/teacher is Kakashi, master of the copy-technique(pretty much any ninja move he sees, he can do) and never goes anywhere without a copy of his favorite dirty book series, "Come Come Paradise" (written by Jiraiya-sama! aka "the Ero-sennin"). Naruto is an all around awesome series that follows these 3 kids growing up and put through some really difficult experiences. their village is attacked, they become stronger ninjas, learn new (and funny!) techniques, they have to learn what it's like to kill their enemies, etc... this one is a must read/watch!!

Naruto is one of my favorite series. And out of all of the characters, Kakashi-san is the hottest. (my dad teases me aobut it CONSTANTLY) Anyway I'm only up to9 episode 45, since the store I rent it from only has that many eps rihgt now. But the next shipment comes in next week! Woo!!! :lol:

Naruto! yahaha....love that like...well, like it very very much yup. I like Neji~!...eventhough he almost killed Hinata... and also Haku!!! but...he died...had this big arguement at school between the naruto readers and the non-naruto readers about Haku's gender...Shino is also quite cool...he dont seem to have much fans tho...snd Shikamaru...IQ 200 lazy dude! hah hes also cool...i also have a friend who likes Orochimaru...which i find kind of...creepy...

I actually dont like Kakashi that much...eventhough we have a kinda fanclub...if you say that 5 people can make a fanclub...yea...

Rock rocks! [that was confusing...]...I say Kiba looks better with his hood down...and his dad looks funny....his mom is cool tho....AKAMARU!! Gaara is also cool. I had a friend who once said that she was like Gaara. i asked her if it was because she had a giant sand gourd...she looked at me wierdly....[she likes blood]...and me also like Naruto...^^...I dont like Sasuke that much tho...i dunno, eventhough he is hot [as other people would say], i dont like him...and again i dont wanna spoil...I'm on book...22...yea...[>< gosh i feel like one of them evil lil' spoiled brats...]

The Naruto game [Full Name: Naruto Gekitou Ninjataisen...2!!] is also very cool....^^ love that game...havent played it in a while tho...

As for the girls...[they dont get mentioned that much on a fansite for bishies, ne?] I like Ten Ten. and Temari. And Hinata. But I really really dont like Sakura. Why? i dunno. and Ino just seems...blonde...[sorry if its offending...] and Tsunade [i think thas how you spell her name...]...to put it easily, me and my friend decided that she has an unnatural breast size...)0.o...did I just really say that?...

ah, I really like Hinata too. She is still very shy, but she's trying so hard to do better! I was really rooting for her during the Neji fight. Ten Ten is really cool too. I like her double scroll/throwing stuff attack. very cool. and Tsunade? I like her, she's got spunk. and... huge bajoongas o_o holy crap. but she's really funny and a cool character! :D Plus her boyfriend was a ninja named DAN. How freaking awesome is that? (He was HOT too!)

Hinata's cool. She's probably my favorite of the Naruto girls, even if she does suffer somewhat from "Frog-Facedness", a trait that seems to show up more and more in anime characters nowadays. But still, I think Naruto should ditch Sakura and go out with Hinata. She's alot better for him, and she probably won't beat him up as much.
And as for Tsunade... :blink: WOW :blink: . I mean seriously... :blink: WHOA :blink: . She's gotta have seriously monster strength to haul those things around. AND she's a gambler AND a doctor AND she's got a pet pig! And her summon! At first I thought it was kinda dumb, but once I thought about it made sense. Of course my favorite thing about her was what she did to Orochimaru. THAT was classic.
Oh... and her assistant wasn't bad either.

what irratated me about her summon was that smaller slug that came off of it and carried Naruto back to the ground. I mean, how does that work? I have no idea why that irratated me, it just did. and there was also that one scene where Orochimaru stabbed her between the chest with that snake in his mouth...and i quote my friend, "Its pr0n!"...though she did have a cool boyfriend. her brother was wired tho....enough about Tsunade. even though she is scary at point, shes still cool.

but my other favorite character is that tree! [the one that the mangaka wrote about in book one or two. i forgot.]

Of course this also signals the beginning of the new story arc, which features several cool Konoha Vs Sound fights and the return of... well... let me put it this way: FINALLY THE ROCK HAS COME BACK... TO ACTIVE DUTY! And thats just the tip of the iceberg people. (Sorry I kinda read ahead.)

Don't worry Kago, I've read ahead too. And I'm glad they're no longer doing fillers and they're back to the manga! Sweet.

I think the most recent episode was the fight between sasuke and naruto on top of the konoha hospital. Rasengan vs. Chidori... sweeeeet. so it's just about to get to the good stuff.

If they remain true to the manga, it should be a pretty good fight. Normally I don't argue about matters of opinion but... WADDAYA MEAN ROCK LEE SUCKS! Are you friggin blind?! He's the F***in' Man! So what if his techniques are "forbidden". Do I have to remind you how seriously messed up everybody else is? Lets review shall we:

Gaara = controls sand and turns into a giant sand tanuki
Naruto = has a nine tailed demon fox sealed inside him, summons frogs
Sakura = Split personality, bipolar, useless
Sasuke = whiny bitch, has serious brother complex, can use Sharingan, will soon have giant hands growing out of his back
Kiba = Talks to his dog, 'nuff said
Shikamaru = Lazy bum, controls peoples shadows
Kakashi = pervert, has super powerful right hand, never takes off his mask, can use Sharingan
Neji = Has major family issues, Byakugan
Hinata = Byakugan
Chouji = Can turn into giant "Meat Ball", can change his size, has butterfly wings, screams "Banzai!" at random intervals
Jiraiya = Mega Pervert, summons frogs, thinks he's a Kabuki actor
Tsunade = Super Strong, Super Well Endowed, has age issues, summons slugs
Orochimaru = body snatcher, summons snakes
Itachi = Killed family for kicks, can use Sharingan lvl 2, definite sadist
Kisame = Looks like a fish, likes to shave people with his sword
Ino = bitch, wannabe body snatcher
Kankuro = carries a puppet around with him, talks to his puppet
Temari = another bitch, carries a giant fan everywhere
Shino = has bugs living inside him, has a Wafro
Ten Ten = likes weapons ALOT
Kabuto = can heal himself like Wolverine
Jiroubou = likes to eat peoples chakra
Kidomarou = has 6 arms, spits webs, summons spiders
Sakon/Ukon = a two for one special, like to play bones
Tayuya = pied piper of bitchiness, has a very foul mouth
Kimimaro = has anamorphic bones, just plain creepy
Gai = there are no words too accurately describe Gai

Everybody else has their own "super technique". Rock Lee's ability too open his gates is simply an equalizing factor. And considering he got too where he was through sheer hard work and determination makes him even cooler. He had no bloodline limit, no demon sealed inside him, no secret family technique, heck he hardly had any talent as a ninja at all. He just had a goal, and he worked his ass off and then some to get there. But if you still don't think it's fair for him to use "forbidden" techniques, wait till you see what he does in his next fight. It puts his forbidden techniques too shame.

Yes yes, there are a few people that are wierd. Maybe a few, not too many. Okay almost all, alright all except Rock Lee.

I will change my statement. Rock Lee does not suck. He just has no talent, have catepiller eyebrows, and he is obvouisly sucicidal. Look what he did to himself at the premlims.

Leave Shino alone. He has an army that could kick arses left right and centre. Beside his army of ants, he is almost as cool as Naruto.

Kakashi, the only reason he hides his face is because he is soo damn good looking people can't take him serious if he were to show his face. To sum up, Kakashi = hottness. He is not a pervert, he just simply is open about his choice of reading. Speaking of his book, I've heard 3 different translations of its title. What is its title, Flirting Paradise or what?

Again to sum up, whats wrong with carrying around huge, oversized fans, that all your talent is based on? Whats wrong with having a fetish with weapons? Some girls are into that. Whats wrong with having bi-polar personalities, or talking to your dog.

For Rock Lee and Gai, there is a... site, that explains their 'relationship'. I wonder if anyone has heard of it, Naruto Style, episode 3, Sex Ed. Ive lost the link as of now, Ill post later for other viewings.

Rock Lee has definite talent. In a world of freaks, he keeps up through sheer determination and hard work. He's 13, and can already open 5 of the 8 gates, he's a master of Taijutsu, and he was able to bounce back after getting half his body Desert Coffin/Funeraled. If being able to do all that at his age isn't talent, I don't know what is. As Gai said it, Rock Lee is a "Genius of Hard Work".
And he's not suicidal, he simply believes in his ideals enough that he is willing too put his life on the line for them. And he's not the only one. Naruto does it all the time. Naruto isn't suicidal is he?
And as for Gai and Lee's relationship. Gai is Lee's idol. Gai represents everything Lee could ever hope too be and then some. He's honest, hardworking, and able too keep up with Kakashi (who everybody recognizes as a genius) despite his lack of any secret techniques or bloodline limits. In fact, I believe he's actually ahead of Kakashi in their little competition. It is for these reasons that Lee idolizes Gai in such an extreme manor. Anybody who says otherwise, or anything inappropriate, deserves to be Omote Renged repeatedly.
And as for how he looks, at least he's not a beatnick with a wafro.

Yes they are beetles not ants, I went back to the episode where you are introduced, not that I thought you were wrong, just to watch an episode.

No-chan-san has an excellent point, green spandex and leg warmers. How can you justify his choice of attire. Sure Naruto wears a suit similar to what a prisonmate wears, but atleast he isn't 20 years out-of-date.

I think Naruto is awesome! I like his outfit, even though it is Prisonmate Orange. That's ok! How cool about him and the demon fox.. at least I think so. I want it to come out and eat stupid ugly Orochimaru! And if it messed up Rock Lee's face in the process, some plastic surgery wouldn't hurt that ugly freak anyway.. Anything's gotta be better than those ugly round eyes with the stupid little eyelashes that he bats at poor Sakura!

Maris, no, I don't think we can convert Kago, or anyone to our side in this matter. That's OK though. I don't really want to convert them, anyway. I just want to express my opinion that I think the creator did the characters a great injustice in designing Rock and Gai the way he did. Sure, it wouldn't have been as fun because we wouldn't be able to make fun of their ugly faces, but still, couldn't he have made them a LITTLE better looking? ANd what's with Chouji wearing underwear on his head, huh? Couldn't give up his Ninja Underoos so he had to wear them on his big fat fuzzy head?

Also, I believe the best translation of Kakashi's book I've heard is "Come Come Paradise" Who cares if it's perverted. Most men are! Kakashi totally rocks. You better be careful, Kago.. or Kime might come in here and go Monkey Ninja on you! ;)

Rock Lee is cool. not exactly as pretty as Neji. okay. let me correct. not pretty at all. but he does have a good personality, although sometimes kinda overboard, but he's still cool.

Mwahahahahaha... thou shalt never dissuade from the path of righteousness and my faith in the ubercoolness that is... Rock Lee. For we all know that spandex (especially the green variety) is not only comfortable and stylish, but its form fitting snugness and ultra high tech streamlined design cuts down on wind resistance, which is a very good thing for people who move as fast as Lee does. And the green coloring is not only fashion savvy, but serves as functional camouflage, so a ninja can look good even when nobody can see him. And not only are his orange leg warmers in this season, but they keep those heavy metal weights he wears on his legs from getting cold AND provide a bit of cushioning for when he kicks somebody, which he has a tendency to do, so that they won't be hurt by the hard metal weights underneath. So you see, not only is the Rock cool, but the Rock is considerate for the well being of others as well. And finally, its a well known fact of life that CHICKS DIG THE FUZZY EYEBROWS! You know what they say about a guy with big fuzzy eyebrows... and I think I'll leave that one alone for now.

And just for the record, I'm not doubting Kakashi's coolness or bad-assedness in anyway. I'm just saying that he's a perv as well. It is possible to be all three at the same time. (Hell, I practically worship Dark Schneider and he makes Jiraiya look like a monk!) I mean the dude rituallisticly reads a notoriously dirty book series, written by Jiraiya the "Ero-Sennin" (who proudly proclaims himself as a Super Pervert with a perfect record of having never been caught peeping), who uses his perverted escapades as a basis for his books. And not only that, one of Kakashi's signature moves involves his fingers and his opponents anus (okay, that's just sick and not necessarily perverted). And if that weren't enough, Kakashi's actions in episode 101, firmly establish his pervertedness. But of course this is all just my opinion.

Edit: Chapter 245 is out. 2 1/2 years have passed since the end of the last chapter, so guess what, new character designs! Naruto's famous jumpsuit has been redesigned and Sakura's grown into quite the piece of eye-candy (she's still psycho though). Hopefully, next week, we'll get too see some of their new Jutsus, and maybe a few more "grown up" characters as well.

Argghhh... The new story arc is pissing Kago off!
I mean it's cool and all, but COME ON! They shift back too Naruto after so long, introduce a BIG obstacle (which was a really mean thing to do), and then they switch focus over too another MAJOR character (not spoiling who) after just 2 1/2 chapters! Pick a story and stick with it dammit! It's very irritating to have to wonder which character the next chapter is gonna focus on, especially at such crucial moments. Grrrrr... it's so friggin' frustrating.
*Kago goes and bangs his head against a wall for a few minutes, then comes back...*
Whew... I feel better now. Anyway, I wanna see what all the new more "mature" characters look like. I'm really lookin' forward too seeing Lee and (more importantly) Hinata. If they can make Sakura look like that, I can only imagine what Hinata is gonna look like.

The current manga storyline isn't bothering me... much.
But I think there should be a gynormous group picture showing all of the new character designs right off the bat, so we wouldn't have to wait. *le CRYSOBWHINE* Leave the certain unspoken major character's storyline until AFTER everything is settled, and Neji, Lee, and Sasuke are seen.

It's official the Naruto anime has been licensed by ShoPro (a subsidiary of Viz communications) the good people who brought us the Inu Yasha dub.

That depends on when they're going to release it... I'd say we still have some amount of time to show it. But i don't know! at least if we don't get to watch it at club, i won't have to look at Rock or Gai's ugly mugs anymore..

Cartoon Network has released information that they plan to air Naruto, Gonjiki no Gash Bell (aka Zatch Bell), One Piece, and Bobobo ~ Bobobobo (or whatever the hell it's called), later this year.
And in related news: Anime One has stated that they will continue to sub the series regardless of it's licensed status.
