I can't play the flute. But I do play the piano and the saxophone. But I don't do the piano exams, those make me really frustrated.

I played the piano for about a year, but then we moved to California and I never started up again...I teach myself basic stuff like Pachabel Canon in D and Moonlight Sonata...just the basic learners shtuff.

Violin for about 3 years.

I can play piano (although I don't really like it and I stopped taking lessons) and the flute. But I've tried the piccolo before, and it was fun. You play flute, FearlessChick? Go us! Flute rules! :jumpy:

I play the alto sax and I can also play the flute. I try REALLY hard to play guitar and I try to play harmonica. I mostly just try to replay what Alanis Morisette plays in Hand In My Pocket and Head Over heels!!

am I the only musically challenged person on here? if it counts, i was FORCED to play the recorder in 5th grade, but it's not like i can do anything else. i think the only song i know how to play was Mary Had a Little Lamb..... ^_^

That's okay, not everyone can be good a music. I'm sure that your good at something else.

Same here!! I also have 2 cousins who play piano wonderfully.

I took piano lessons when I was in like the 5th grade....but my instructor told my parents I was a lost cause and was wasting both hers and my time....so I quit!! :lol: :lol: :P

In the instructors defense, I NEVER practiced (short attention span ;) :lol: ) and I hated the fact that she had me learning Yankee Doodle!! I was like, "I don't want to learn Yankee Doodle!! I want to learn Beethoven, dang it!!" :lol: :lol:

hehe my piano teacher was like that... like i might go there 5 minutes early or something.... and she would have another person playing and the phone would ring and she wouldn' t pick it up but then when i started to play... she used everything she could to get away form me including answering the phone and geting more hot water for her tea hehe i quit because i didn't like her at all <_< but allwell

I played flute, but I flunked out of band. It wasn't becaue I was bad, I just didn't practice. I thought that band sucked, so I didn't try to do well.

I had the coolest band teacher in Jr. High. She was considered one of the best band teachers in the city. Everyone loved her. She had inside jokes with each class, or group of friends. Whatever, and she never bites our head off, unless she's having a really bad day. And she has the coolest son, who comes by every now and then. Then I went to high school, and had no time for band, and the band teacher at my school, who usually is really cool, would always bug me about not being in band. But he left, now its this lady, who is really mean, and no one likes her. I'm so glad I'm not in her band class, and I feel sorry for everyone who is.

The choir teachers at my school rock. It's a husband and wife and they kick @$$ when it comes to teaching music. Like you said about the band teacher, they have inside jokes with each class and don't snap at us unless we're being idiots, which quite a few of us are inclined to be. We all love them. They rock. The band teacher, however, sucks.

My personal violin teacher is my great-aunt. :D

i used to play the viola, but i got bored with it. i play the guitar in a band now. a big change, but heck, its still strings...

hmm..I dont know if this counts (I doubt it) On the piano I can play Twinkle Little star and Mary Had a Little Lamb...and if you have one of those keyboards that flash the light in the key so you can play a song even if you dont know how...thats me on a piano... I used to play the drums..well actually just the snare drum but I quit band b/c I had to carry the stupid thing to school on tuesdays and thursdays...Have you ever carried a big drum bag on a bus??...it got very annoying.and it was heavy..I'm surprised that I didnt break my back :stertcher: hehe just another excuse to use the smiley.
