Title: Character Portraits: ... ?
oldclothesKing - February 13, 2005 07:45 PM (GMT)
Two things.
1) There is a book cover, I forget which one, (Probably the Super Edition #2.) with someone else's face on it, clearly in the foreground. Brownish hair, concerning / angry expression on his face, turned to the left, but looking almost right at you. Who IS That?
2) It seems to me, on an odd little scale, that Gaia's image on each of the books is not the same person. Compare most of the earlier books' images to any of the other ones. There's one where Gaia is in a very dark black trenchcoat, head turned to the left, walking away from the camera down the block, and she is -VERY- tall and thin. On the left side, there's a picture of a slightly redheaded girl with a cell phone, with a very concerned look on her face. There's a SLIGHT chance that this is Mary Moss, as she has red hair, but she also has -CURLY- red hair, so now I'm just not so sure. Note that there are -TWO- images we should concern ourselves with here on that book.
Another has Gaia punching the camera. Her upper face is off-camera, she has a wry grin on her face. One of her fists is parallel to her face, straight up, while the other is punching the camera. Now, I take Martial Arts courses, and that is -NOT- how you throw a punch. :o Seriously.
And then there's book #10. Or, at least, I -think- it's Book #10. Take a look at her face. She sort of looks like Sarah Michelle Gellar from Buffy The Vampire Slayer. (On a side note, I once heard a username, "HuffyTheCampfireSlayer." I thought that was hilarious.) Now take a look at one of the slightly earlier books. Gaia is sitting on the stairs of .. somewhere. I think her face is tilted slightly upward. She does NOT look like either of the two characters on any other book.
Seriously, .. this is weird. @_@ I've had this little conflict for some time now. Do you think they shoot (With a camera. :P ) different people for each book, if one isn't available? What do you think?
athena - February 13, 2005 08:55 PM (GMT)
TO ANSWER YOUR FIRST QUESTION:THAT PERSON ON THE COVER WOULD BE HER LONG LOST BROTHER or JAKE
I KNOW IT'S WEIRD, THEY'RE ALWAYS CHANGING THE MODELS AND IT'S KIND OF IRRITATING..BUT ALL OF THESE MODELS ARE ALL "SUPPOSEDLY" GAIA THE MODELS IN BOOKS 1-12 SEEM MORE REALISTIC AND THE OTHER MODELS LOOK LIKE THEY'RE POSING FOR "SEVENTEEN" OR SOMETHING. THE MODEL YOU WERE TALKING ABOUT THE ONE WITH THE RED HAIR I'M GUESSING IS TATIANA BECAUSE MARY DIED IN BOOK #8..ALTHOUGH TATIANA DIDN'T HAVE RED HAIR AND IT COULDN'T BE GAIA
oldclothesKing - February 14, 2005 02:01 PM (GMT)

This is the one with the supposed "Mary" sighting on the left, with a totally unfamiliar Gaia sighting on the
right! She looks so different from the one below! O_O.

This one looks like
Huf .. Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

These two look fairly similar, yet...

These two look like Sally from 3rd Rock from the Sun! :o
(To be Edited As I go)
Domino - February 20, 2005 03:14 AM (GMT)
LOL, I never noticed these things.
FearlessFan13 - February 20, 2005 01:09 PM (GMT)
it is majorly annoying of how they keep chaning the models. There are some covers that don't even look that good <_<
FearlessFan13 - February 20, 2005 01:10 PM (GMT)
i liked the cover of Fake even though it wasnt my favourite one.
athena - February 21, 2005 06:27 PM (GMT)
The model on #36 looks more realistic and more Gaia
Mary Moss - February 21, 2005 06:30 PM (GMT)
...because they used the original photo...
Raquel - February 21, 2005 07:24 PM (GMT)
the old model rocked my fave cover was #7 rebel and #11 trust she looks pretty there
athena - February 21, 2005 07:30 PM (GMT)
On book #36 she looks like the model in book #4 the one with the long coat
EdLuver - February 21, 2005 08:07 PM (GMT)
she wears a lot of the same clothes on a lot of the books i posted somewhere on oneof these topics all of them, and i dont want 2 get them all back out agian, lol.
oldclothesKing - February 21, 2005 11:05 PM (GMT)
... :blink: ... Number Seven? O_O ... This one? -->

Are you sure?
Compare to Kristen Johnson / Sally Solomon.
Here.
See how similar they are.
Now compare Gaia from #10,
Liar, and Buffy Summers / Sarah Michelle Gellar from Buffy the Vampire Slayer (Heh, Huffy the Campfire Slayer. :D  )
athena - February 21, 2005 11:11 PM (GMT)
She doesn't look like Sarah Michelle Gellar at all..she reminds me of that blond girl that comes in Everwood
Mary Moss - February 22, 2005 02:04 AM (GMT)
athena - February 22, 2005 04:13 AM (GMT)
No, the one Ephram dated before her
oldclothesKing - February 22, 2005 01:58 PM (GMT)
Oh, right. She also reminds me in the slightest bit of Christina from Point Pleasant.
...
Then again, that's probably because I'm always around to hear my sister jeer the show, that it's all about "Teenagers and lovey dovey stuff" ... when she herself is a 17 year old n3rd.
Sammmm - March 3, 2005 01:01 AM (GMT)
book 2, Sam, Is how I would imagine Gaia would look like the most...and the ones where she's wearing the trench coat
it irks me very much that they she looks so different on each book. Expecially on Rebel, she's wearing MAKEUP. And not just a little makeup, but its like caked on.
eugh.
darkillusion - March 3, 2005 04:48 AM (GMT)
On book 4, on the left: Isn't that gaia? They just blended two pics of her together.
fearless_fan - March 3, 2005 03:19 PM (GMT)
gaia's makeup in seven scares me. :o
sydney78 - March 3, 2005 04:24 PM (GMT)
I think it is gaia in book four, too. book 2 cover,it does look like Gaia, cover in book 18 and maybe even 25,are good, too.Cover in book 3,too,does look like Gaia.
EdLuver - March 3, 2005 08:10 PM (GMT)

I think the guy in book 2 is the guy that wants to kill her. He looks quite...non-samly.
Laine - March 3, 2005 11:54 PM (GMT)
I agree.. that shadow of the guy's got like schlumpy shoulders. And that Rebel cover has always scared me. I was embarassed to check it out of the library..i mean, come on. But, except for Abducted SE, all of the covers for Fearless have always been exclusively Gaia. Even though the models have changed. I like the one the cover of Missing 14, just 'cause she doesn't have the make-up or the bandanna, or the cell phone, and is dressed like you would expect Gaia to.

Mary Moss - March 4, 2005 09:41 PM (GMT)
I was embarrased buying Rebel at b&n cause of gaia's scary makeup....the lady looked at me funny
fearless_fan - March 5, 2005 03:12 PM (GMT)
FearlessFan13 - March 5, 2005 03:43 PM (GMT)
i didnt even buying the book, i just checked it out from the library! lol
Mary Moss - March 5, 2005 05:36 PM (GMT)
my library doesn't have the books until like a year after....so I just buy them.
FearlessFan13 - March 5, 2005 09:19 PM (GMT)
yeah, same here. my library doesnt have all books. i misssd out on reading, Kiss, Naked and Sex. the only book i bought was terror. ha!
i just noticed this is my 351st post!! :jumpy:
Mary Moss - March 5, 2005 11:13 PM (GMT)
I never read sex. I was going to buy it but my mom was at the bookstore with me and if I bought it she would be like "why did you buy a book called Sex?"
athena - March 5, 2005 11:36 PM (GMT)
I know I never bought that one either..my parents would freak out..my library doesn't have all the fearless books so I buy all of them from BN..I like owning them instead of borrowing them ^_^
EdLuver - March 6, 2005 04:26 AM (GMT)
i was so sure my mom was gonna freak wen i bought sex cuzz she was with me and i bought i different book and then i grabbed sex and shes like "wat books did u get" so i showed her and she like looked @ me dissaproovingly and i smiled and she kinda groaned and rolled her eyes and gave it back 2 me and im like "soi can get it" and shes like "i guess..." lol
FearlessFan13 - March 6, 2005 01:15 PM (GMT)
i know what you mean!!. plus my library doesnt have it either. iread somewhere that nothing really happeneded other than gaia leaving ed for some odd reason
FearlessFan13 - March 6, 2005 01:18 PM (GMT)
just a thought,: why would you want to name a BOOK sex?? i mean i think there is younger readers reading this series according to amazon. i know that the series is ment for teenagers but c'mon!
Mary Moss - March 6, 2005 01:36 PM (GMT)
Yeah I know....my mom would probably think I was buying porn if she saw me buy Sex.....
FearlessFan13 - March 6, 2005 01:46 PM (GMT)
lol! i guess FP wasnt thinking when she named the book.
sydney78 - March 6, 2005 02:03 PM (GMT)
Iguess the book name was Sex,because Gaia was going to have sex with Ed.Fearless books has funny names, but they are kind of good.
Names told about books,Like Kiss, where Gaia got her first kiss and Twisted where she was in a date twisted guy David.Or book called Lust,I guess it backcover text could have been something like that: Jake has lust on Gaia, and Tom has lust of revenge.
EddieBear2004 - March 6, 2005 03:40 PM (GMT)
Yeah, I know. I felt really weird buying that book. I have to own them all, or i go craaaaazy. I missed Blind, but then I went back and re-read it. Not much happened, but I did understand why she thought Natasha was a killer person.
As for naming the book, I think it would've been better if she named it Ed, because she had sex with ED. And then people wouldn't feel weird buying the book.
EdLuver - March 7, 2005 02:58 AM (GMT)
yeah agreed it wuld hav been better named Ed. i mean we already have one named sam where she almost has sex w/ sam (or tries 2) and then the one where she DOES have sex w/ ed...
i bought all of them cept 33. :( that one ill never get 2 read cuzz B+N sux. lol. also my friend stole one of mine (i think #2) so im going nuts...
EddieBear2004 - March 7, 2005 03:53 AM (GMT)
no worries, by not reading 33, you were saved agony.
