Title: Skynet update log 6-2-03
Description: stuff done

Sauron The Deceiver - June 3, 2003 06:38 AM (GMT)
Summary:
Got layout done, decided on a page format. and added main image. started a tripod test account to test how the layout would look.

Meat:
I have finished the bulk of the layout work, now gotta finalise it.

I'm going to be using CGI/perl as opposed to ASP or PHP or just plain HTML for the pages. PNG for graphics and images. JNG for large photo's and screenshots. and MNG for animated images.

I have 0 clue on how it looks in IE, and I don't care, i'm designing to standard, and IE is not standad.

BTW the main focus is linux gaming for the site and forums. expect an overhaul soon

and I added the first image, I main page graphic.

remember that I had no clue on how IE will display it? well of the Image formats I'm using IE nativly supports only one (png), and half-assed support at that. it can't do RGBA png's which is a big part of the specifications.

anway no screenshot but I do have a link to the current site layout

sounds cool, what kind of games can you play on linux?

Sauron The Deceiver - June 16, 2003 06:27 AM (GMT)
there are quite few few games on linux actually. iD, blizzard, et. al. have linux versions of their wares. plus several linux only games like, freeciv, tux racer, maelstrom, chromium, and konquest. so yeah as linux come onto the desktop, gaming comes with it.

UPDATE (finally!) I got the test page working so you can see the site being built.

and it is w3c validated, so it should work on any browser.
