Title: Mic Mutes Installation And Perfomrance Review
Description: Honda GL1800

I had a J&M filter installed on the passenger intercom system. Though it seemed to worksemi-satisfactorly (with the J&M recomended intercom settings) recently the filter seemed to not be doing anything.

Last Monday I ordered a Mic Mutes from Morph Solutions, Inc ( http://www.mic-mutes.com/ ). It was delivered USPS in Thursday's mail.

Thursday evening I inventoried the pieces parts and reviewed the instalation instructions as well as the Honda Service Manual.

Friday I got home about 5:15PM and following the instructions had the bike disassembled (seat left side cover and left pock removed) for the Mic Mutes installation. Taking my time and carefully routing the wires, bundling and tieing off the loose wire and tucking everything safely away took about 90 minutes with a couple of breaks to yack with my neighbor and Jackie when they came home from work.

Only problem I encountered was that somehow I blew the 5 AMP acc fuse. The last section of the instructions mentions that if the intercom doesn't work to check the fuses. Replaced the ACC fuse and all was well.

I'd rate the instalation at 1.5 beers.

Saturday morning got up bright and early for a ride to Washington on the Brazos for Texas Independence Day celebratioins. Gave Jackie a quick how to on using the CB xmit botton to key up the intercom up and to key off the intercom. Got on the road and what nice difference the Mic Mutes made. Sanity at last!. I no longer have to turn the radio volume up as loud as it'll go so Jackie can hear the music. I no longer have to hear the music frequently mute and while muted listen to obnoxios wind and road noise. I no longer have to repeat everything twice and find out my wive only heard half of what I said.

The down fall is you HAVE to remember to key up before talking. Sometime difficult for Jackie when she's pointing at some road side interest. By the time she remembers it most of the time too late.

My only other point of intrest is the cost. For the sanity, the cost $120 + $7 S&H seemed right. But upon inspection of the USPS printed lable on the USPS provided box it only cost $3.95 to ship. Giving Morph solutions an extra $4 pure profit. How about raise the cost of the product to say $125 to cover the cost or S&H and pretent NOT charge shipping? Tho in actuality I'm paying extra shipping charges, I still have warm fuzzies about not being charged shipping. No shipping AND tax free.

Overall a BIG THUMBS UP for Morph Solutions Inc and Mic Mutes.
