I have recently changed the camshaft on my pinto & after doing 600 miles i have an oil leak that seems to be coming from the top of the engine it is getting onto the timing belt & getting splattered over the bonnet i thought it may be the head gasket & i have changed that today but the leak is still there any ideas where it could be coming from would be much appreciated

It will be one of 2 things.
1st check that you have fitted the rocker cover gasket correctlly.you can sometimes nic an edge where it fits near the timing belt.
2nd and most likely is that the rubber oil seal that goes round the canshaft where it comes out of the cylinder head has perished.you can see this seal by removing the top timing belt pulley as it sits in behind that.

Cam cover? Is the front oil seal in correctly? Could be coincidence and the crank seals leaking. On mine the crank has a grove where the oil seal sits, solution don't seat the seal all the way home, and yes that's the technical version!
