A few toomany http://'s Tom but all fixed now

Plenty of work going on there and a reminder that I really must get some more pictures of mine sorted out.

Keep up the good work

Andrew

Looks interesting, Cosworth V6 and Auto box :)

What are you doing with the body, it looks like foam at the moment.
Are you going to take a mold or just fibreglass / resin it when you get the right shape ?, i like the rear bumps where the roll bar goes.

Nice job so far :D

Tom_Ger_Phaeton S2 - December 13, 2007 02:51 PM (GMT)
Hello Andy and janno,

In this moment I model the body.
Side panels, crossbar beam and the cowling.
My friend Wolfgang gave me the tip, to model the body with PU-form-plates.
If I finish the model we craft a negativ and than the positiv form.
I want to have a Pheaton with more curves and soft transitions.

thx, for the fixed pic's Andy

and excuse me for my bad english.

nice time

Tom

Hi Tom, too many http://'s again ;)

I'm liking this, keep the pictures coming B)

Andy S - December 17, 2007 05:53 PM (GMT)

Cool B)

As a lot of the nose of my B+ is just empty I am giving serious consideration to a bit of re-modeling to shorten the bonnet and bring the nose cone back 3-4 inches to balance the side view of the car which I personally thing is a bit nose heavy.

On the B type the wheel base is 3" longer than the B+ so proportionally the car looks better .

In my view

Cheers

Andrew

Hi Jonno,

Been watching and not commenting up to now but got to say keep up the good work this is one car that will definitely have the 'wow' factor

Tom_Ger_Phaeton S2 - January 12, 2008 07:35 PM (GMT)
Many thanks

I hope, I find a harmonic design.

For the viewers sight, all in all a Dutton Car.

Lots of Duttonowner in Germany want a S7, VM, Westfield.....

So they sheeting, S7 noses in her Dutton or other Parts from this manufakturer.

This is not my way. I want to build a Dutton, in the spirit of Pheaton.

The back from the Dutton S1 and S2 its verry nice. Better as a S7, VM ++++

..... thats my position

A touch Oldtimer, a good racer.....

cheers
Tom

Andy S - January 13, 2008 11:04 PM (GMT)

The trouble with the Duttons is that unlike the others you mention the overall design is not correctly balanced and as the eye is always looking for balance and symmetry the cars look awkward - couple that with some dire personal touches and a bad build and the cars get the reputation they have.

The modifications you are doing give the car a visual balance which was present with the early B Types but got lost with each subsequent model after that. Most of the cars have one or maybe two views in which they look right - the the other views are just so wrong.

Being such small cars it is not easy to get a correct balance with the overall look of the car it however very easy to get it wrong.

keep us posted with the progress.

Cheers

Andrew

Hallo Andrew,

Accrue that additional the most Fibreglass bodies are building very simple and imprecise. The clearances are different and the smooth transitions between the body parts incorrect.
I agree with you too, that the eyes from the viewer’s are always looking for balance and symmetry…… “I especially”

I restore vintage cars since my 18 years of age. So I like the love for detail and the smooth transitions.

Hello Andrew,

My Girlfriend want the colour with the name Explosion (yellow-orange, Metal flake). Last year we have seen a Porsche with this colour on the Techno Classica in Essen.

Here some Pic's with a little more distance.

The experiment with my good friend Jörg working out. :D

The passenger seat have enough place for bigger dimensions. :ph43r:

Looking pretty tasty there Tom and the colour sounds very B) - Looks like you car is a bit more accomodating in the room for the occupants than mine - I have had to lose 22kg to ensure I can fit in mine.... :o

Keep the updates coming

Hello Andrew,

I find a Dutton is the best way to look for a good figure ... ....little cars, for small persons. :P

Today I must repair my normally Car. ....... So I had no time for my little one.

For better accommodating, I make sth. larger the zone at the seat. (4 cm)

I have a longer transverse under my back.

For modelling friends.

I found a nice Dutton studies. ... a hot botty

Unfortunately, I have in the coming period no time for the Dutton.

Right now plagues me the flu.

On Thursday, I go to Switzerland to my girlfriend.

As you will certainly overtake me!

Now with the roof that looks 'mean',rat rod or similar. My other half(some say the better half lol) lives with me but when I get on the car is very good at supplying the necessary cuppas so no complaints

Tom_Ger_Phaeton S2 - March 21, 2008 12:52 PM (GMT)
Hello grizzly,

cuppas? (cup of tea)? That what I find in the internet for translation.

My Parents come from North-Germany, we always drinking tea with milk an sugar.
Tea is better for the stomach!

:o ...I hope I build a bunny catcher (S7 and other one ) not a rat ...lol

At 2011 the Dutton-Club-Germany was twenty years old.
So we want to make a big tour with the German club members to England.
Perhaps we meet some English Dutton owners in this time.
I hope I meet some members from the Dutton Forum.

This month we celebrate our 10 Club meeting at the

On stage we have 2 Dutton, Coffee and Tea :)

I myself will be on fr. 28.03.2008 with my wife care for the state.
Perhaps some Dutton enthusiasts come from England to visit us.
We would be very happy. :)

Tom,
Your car is looking very good, I like what you've done to the front end... it seems very remeniscent of a Gurney Eagle F1 car ( but that may just be me you understand! )
The impession of the screen is ace.. but the roof... I think you'd need to remove your head to drive the car with it on.. ;)

keep the pictures coming...
All the best,
RIK

Hi Tom,

Grizzly was taking about this type of rats - rat rods

user posted image

Your car being of a similar low roof low slung style rather than the overall "barn find" appearance of rat rods.

Good luck at the Essen show if read this in time

Andrew

Tom_Ger_Phaeton S2 - March 25, 2008 10:27 PM (GMT)
Hello Rik, hello Andrew,

:) thx for answer.

The roof:

My friend Jörg at this Photo is 185cm tall. I am 172cm tall. ... a little one. ;)

A person, taller than 175cm have many problems to drive this car.

......Particular, if I change the automatic gearbox against a manual gearbox.

......I have 26cm width for the feed at the foodwell.

-I must look, for a concept for this problem

In my images, I want a short, long roof (it should look like a coupe ).

...with Fluent crossing....

The fundamental idea with the short roof could from the advise rots...yes

very hot cars ...I like them..... :)

Front end:

I am locking for a Gurney Eagle F1 at the internet.

Yes, the front end to bear a little bit resemblance to my S2

Top of the class.
Showing true uniqueness as only dutton owners can.
What sort of colour were you planning on. Dark metallic grey with some very loud graphics might look good.

Tom_Ger_Phaeton S2 - August 11, 2008 11:44 AM (GMT)
Hello Adrian,

The Name of the colour is "Explosion".
My Girlfriend show it 2007, at the Techno Classica in Essen.
Its a orange/yellow metal flake colour.

You know.... what the boss say...... it's a order  :D

The interior design: I bolster up in stepped, black leather....

At the moment we coloured the bonnet, side frames and the midsection in black.
In two weeks (behind my vacation)

Hi tom. I really like what you are doing with the rear of the car with the diffuser, i agree that they look too thin and your idea is an improvement, a big improvement. may have to do the same as you.

Tom_Ger_Phaeton S2 - August 31, 2008 01:12 AM (GMT)
Hi snowy2,

the rear from the Dutton is the best for modelling experiments :)
