i have been told that mine is a 1300cc. mine ends AA. i was told you can tell by looking at teh gap between teh top of the water pump and the bottum of the head. it is a bigger gap on a 1600 but i dont know how big.

I'm led to believe that mine is a 1600 & the number ends BA.....but I'm not 100% sure..

Hi Yawl
As i have been assured BA is 1600 and AA is 1300.
The major problem comes with the internals as the cranks/rods pistons are interchangable between 1300 and 1600 units. The only way to be certain istyo remove the head and measure the stroke.

The 1600 has about 15mm longer stroke so the block is higher. If you look at the side of the block a little way back from the front o/s corner there is a small lump that sticks out with a flat ground top face. If its flush with the top of the block its 1300, if its about 15mm down its a 1600. Hope this helps.

Any casting number ending BA is a 1600 block anything ending AA is a 1300 or 1100 block.

On the other hand, If you fancy a bigger one I'll have one for sale soon:
1670cc; Ported, big-valve, unleaded head; double valve springs. As soon as I get my new engine :-) I'll know what else it can go with.

Must be something special to be getting rid of what sounds a sweet little crossflow.
Cheers

It's an even sweeter, slightly bigger, shiny, new, crossflow. Problem is that now I seem to need a shiny, new chassis :-(
