Title: Shifting Tensions
Description: Private - *Adaron* - Part 2 of 3
Gwydion - July 1, 2003 06:42 AM (GMT)
The World had been turned on its ear and Gwydion was having a hard time keeping up. He had been discussing a training expedition with Asura only a moment ago when a bright blue flash from the direction of the chaos gate caught his attention. Faintly in the distance he could hear the sounds of people shouting and screaming but he couldn't make out what they were saying. The streets of Mac Anu were suddenly drained of all their color and the voices stopped. It happened so fast that Gwydion wasn't sure if he had blinked or not. A feeling of dread filled him as he gaped openly at the walls of the alley. The city appeared a mere shadow of its former self and Gwydion knew that whatever had happened couldn't have been good.
He had been so wrapped up in his thoughts that he hadn't even noticed that Asura had left until he returned with a concerned look on his face. Gwydion listened to Asura tell his strange tale about the happenings around the chaos gate. Gwydion only became more confused, and more agitated the more Asura told him.
Everything was happening fast. Too fast for Gwydion to keep up with. He was about to ask some pointed questions of Asura when the other player turned on his heel and dashed off in the direction of the chaos gate leaving his standing in the alley with his mouth hanging open. Angry and incredibly lost, Gwydion ran after him, the leather of his sandal slapping hard against the now grey stone of the city streets.
He began to fall behind as Asura plunged ahead down the main road and up the steps to the main square, where the chaos gate rested. As he crested the top of the stairs, Gwydion was surprised to find that there was little in the way of damage. After Asura's description of the Wavemaster and the half angel he had been expecting to see some sort of post apocalyptic war scene with the bodies of Knights of War pilled high. What he saw was far worse. Nothing... There was no sign of anyone or anything, except Asura who plunged headlong towards the gate, his cloak fanning out behind him as he ran.
Upon reaching the chaos gate Asura called out "Shapeless Law's Footstep!" The air hummed as the golden rings appeared around Asura and descended. A flash of blue light and he disappeared. Gwydion noticed that he never even once glanced back over his shoulder to check if Gwydion was following. For a moment Gwydion contemplated logging out. An entire server hacked, the Knights of War forced out. It appeared to him that he had really stepped in it this time. Could he even log out?
After a moment he gave a heavy sigh. He couldn't just leave Asura to his fate, especially since he seemed so intent on helping another player. Gwydion had wanted to go on a difficult training mission, and this might be a good challenge. That's it, he had to look at it more as an opportunity. Who knew what sort of challenges lay on the other side of the gate? What other player had been offered the opportunity to go after a hacker capable of locking down a server? A wide grin spread across his face. This was going to be fun.
Gwydion gripped his spear as if readying for battle, tightening his wide grip around the bronze weapons haft. "Shapeless Law's Footstep," he called into the silence of the city square. The gold rings descended and he closed his eyes.
The hum of the rings warned him of his arrival and he quickly blinked to clear his vision. He found himself standing in the middle of a desert storm. Lightning crashed as the rain beat down on the already soaked ground. "Why does it always have to rain in these bloody things?" he cursed. Seeing no immediate danger he let go of his spear with one hand in order to pull his mop of already soaked hair back from his forehead to keep it from getting in his eyes.
He squinted trying to see Asura through the curtain of rain. He didn't have to search long as a shout alerted him to where the blademaster had gone. Gwydion found him just in time to catch sight of his companion's cloak disappearing over the side of a dune half turned to mud. Gwydion ran to catch up shouting out, "Asura, wait up...!" But he wasn't sure if the blademaster could
hear him over the sound of the falling rain and the thunder.
Each step found his sandaled feet sinking deep into the wet sand. Every time he tried to lift his foot the sand grabbed at him, trying to hold him in place. He nearly fell several time as he was thrown off balance by his own attempt to run through the sludge. Growling his aggravation at the clouds overhead and the mud bellow he stopped trying to run and just concentrated on dragging one foot after the other from the rain soaked ground. He lengthened his gait so that he was striding across the desert landscape and found himself able to move at a good speed.
He trudged over the first dune and could see Asura moving up the next one. Gwydion tried to pick up his pace by lengthening his stride further to catch up with the quick swordsman. As he approached the rise, following the swordsman, sounds of activity on the other side of the dune greeted him. He couldn't make them out through the background noise of the weather.
As they reached the crest of the dune, Gwydion finally caught up with Asura just in time to see him slip through the mud. Reacting more out of instinct than anything else Gwydion reached out to try and steady him before he fell. The quick movement in the heavy sand set him off balance and he just barely managed to grab the corner of Asura's sopping cloak. The falling swordsman dragged Gwydion from his feet, as his cloak slipped from Gwydion's hand, and sent him tumbling down the side of the dune head over heel. He finally came to a rest sprawled flat out on his stomach at the base of the dune with his face half buried in wet sand and covered head to toe in mud.
Wren - June 17, 2003 02:30 AM (GMT)
The hollow sound of wood-soled boots cloding across the cobblestone pathways of Mac Anu can be heard clearly as a small flock of birds flies overhead, chirping and singing their energetic songs. The running water in the canals, individual conversations, the jingling of Gold in the pockets or purses of the other players as they walk by.
Things have become very quiet in Mac Anu ever since Adaron and Wren went on their adventure the week before. With news of this hacker, the Knights of War have moved in and occupied the Root Town. With their arrival, there have been fewer players on, and the town has become very solemn.
"How boring... Nothing ever happens anymore, geeze..." Wren stops walking when he reaches the pinnacle of one of many bridges in Mac Anu. From here he has a clear view of the Chaos Gate, the four main shops, and most of the people who are logged in. He can also see the several members of the Knights of War, trudging around inspecting people as they please.
Leaning back against one of the rails of the bridge, Wren sighs, "I can't stand these Knights, hanging around everywhere. Don't they get it? Why would that hacker be dumb enough to log on when he knows they're here? It just doesn't make any sense... Speaking of which, I wonder if Adaron's on." With that, Wren proceeds to send Adaron a Flash Mail.

To: Adaron
Things are so boring in Mac Anu, all these Knights hanging around moderating everything. I doubt you could buy an item without them interrogating you. If you're not busy, I was wondering if you might want to go out to a field and gain some levels? I'll be waiting at the main bridge in Mac Anu.
"Well... that's that. Now all I can do is wait." Out of the corner of his eye, Wren saw a familiar child playing with a ball. Suddenly a Knight walked up to her and caught the ball in one hand. Wren couldn't make out all the words, but it seemed like the Knight thought the girl hacked the ball. After a few minutes of them arguing, she was drug off wailing and flailing her arms and legs.
"This is terrible... I wish they'd just go away."
Letting his head lean back as far as his neck would allow, Wren stared up at the sapphire blue sky, the sun poised high and shining bright upon the Aqua Capital. He closed his eyes and began to think to himself while he waited for Adaron.
Adaron - June 17, 2003 02:56 AM (GMT)
Three golden rings of light fall from the sky in front of Wren. Soon the rings of light are replaced by a bright blue light which Adaron steps from, his character's skin becoming more and more visible with each step he takes. "Hello there, I got your message and came as soon as I heard. I'm not surprised that I found you here. This bridge has become a sort of meeting place hasn't it? Well I have to say this is interesting. Mac Anu seems a bit empty now that they are here..."Adaron says looking over his shoulder into the small crowd of people. Normally Mac Anu would be filled with large crowds of people gathered and selling items, talking, trading, and trading Member Adresses. Today was different though, with the appearance of the Knights of War it seemed as though Mac Anu was losing many citizens.
"Really now do they have to search everyone? This is getting rather pathetic...like a child pulling the legs off of a bug." Adaron adds looking around the area. He then turns his attention to Wren and raises an eyebrow. "So...do you think we will have anymore visitors on this quest? Remember he isn't gone for good, well not yet anyway." Adaron says crossing his arms behind his head. He begins to walk back and fourth across the bridge slowly, thinking to himself for a moment.
For a moment, the shadow of a wing could be seen over Adaron's left shoulder. Adaron looked back causing the shadow to vanish and began to walk closer to Wren once more. "So what area are we headed to?" he asks looking over to a Knight. Adaron laughs to himself saying "Pathetic...they can't even find what they are looking for." before turning his attention to Wren once more.
The sun was sending beams of light down into the water causing it to sparkle. Soon the waterways in Mac Anu began to appear as if they were roads made of small shards of light. Adaron's eyes began to glow for a moment, he seemed frustrated and angry at the same time. He formed both hands into fists and closed his eyes shut, for a moment his eyes began to glow even more and soon the glow began to fade. After a while his eyes were back to normal, it was then that he looked to Wren it a look of fear upon his face. "We need to leave Mac Anu as soon as possible, please." Adaron said in a more quiet voice than usual, as if he was whispering to Wren.
He casually leaned back on the railing of the bridge hoping that the Knights would not step near them. He began to think of the many ways of avoiding the Knights. "This is so irritating...let's just go whenever you are ready I am." he says looking up to Wren and waiting for a reply.
Wren - June 17, 2003 03:42 AM (GMT)
"Well, to answer your question," Wren began, lifting his head and averting his eyes from the sky, looking down at Adaron who was now leaned against the bridge to his right, "I think it's just us again. I tried Seir while waiting for you, and Asura is still off doing Fianna-knows-what on that Gelsen issue. Hopefully we don't run into that Wa---"
Just as Wren began to speak, the words "FLASHMAIL" began to blink in the upper left corner of his screen. "-- One second... Someone just FlashMailed me. Maybe it's Asura?" Wren stood there and opened the FlashMail, when he looked at it, his eyes widened and his jaw hung open wide enough to shove someone's hand into his mouth.
FLASHMAIL
From:
To: Wren
Well, you're on it seems. I told you that I would be back. Don't think that these silly Knights of War are going to stop me, dear Wren. My eye has fallen upon you, and it can not move away until you have fallen from its sight. Please, if you would be so kind, come to Delta Hideous Haunted Remnant. Bring your friend, Adaron with you, if you wish... I'll be waiting.
P.S. - Don't let the Knights follow you... If they do, I'll make sure that you, Adaron, and the Knights are all deleted when I destroy that area. So do be careful.
"I didn't know where we were going to go until now... It looks like you and me are off to Delta Hideous Haunted Remnant." Wren sighed, straightening his posture against the bridge railing.
Adaron - June 17, 2003 04:10 AM (GMT)
The young long arm leans over the bridge and looks down into the water at his reflection. Adaron stares off into the water for a moment, watching as the sun seemed to make the entire town of Mac Anu begin to glow. He yawned a bit resting his arms on the railing and then laying his head down on his arms. He began to gaze off into the sky, he watched a few birds fly by and a ray of light reflect from one of the roofs of a building into the water below.
The water began to become filled with ripples as the end of a boat came into view. It wasn't long before Adaron could see a boat passing underneath the bridge with a few players sitting down in it, flowing toward Mac Anu. He watched to boat pull up to one of the very small ports, the passengers grabbed their items and began to head off into Mac Anu. Adaron then growled a bit watching a Knight stop them and question each of the players. The players seemed to be a bit nervous, one of them who was a twin blade appeared to be raising his voice to the Knight.
Adaron snickered a bit and stepped back from the railing, he pushed off of it with his hands and stopped looking up to Wren. He then looked to his lance and twirled the weapon around. He then gripped the device with his right hand causing it to stop so that the blade was facing toward the sky. He then braught the lance around to his side a bit and began to hum a tune to himself. The tune was a familiar one that the young man had heard many many times before. He looked over into the streets of Mac Anu and snickered a bit watching as the Knights began to question even more of the players. "So...when will we be leaving? Oh...and who was that Flash Mail from? I suppose that's what you received..." Adaron asks looking up to Wren with a slight grin on his face.
Wren - June 17, 2003 04:28 AM (GMT)
Wren blinked, looking over to the players stepping off of the boat, then he turned back to Adaron, "We'll be leaving now, I guess... And that Flash Mail, it came from nowhere... 'He' invited us." Without another word Wren stood up and turned towards the Chaos Gate.
The two began to ascend the stairs that lead to the Gate, a Knight of War on either side of the perpetually spinning mass. When Wren walked up to the border of Chaos Gate, one of the Knights stepped forward, weilding a long-shafted axe. "What do you think you're doing?" The Knight looked sternly between the Long Arm and the Blademaster, who both just smiled.
"We're planning on entering Delta Hideous Haunted Remnant to go and gain some levels, maybe even locate a Gott Statue." Wren nodded slowly as the Knight inspected his face and body with just his eyes.
"Yeah... And where did that scar come from? You can't program those in on just any character." a gasp escaped Wren's lips as the Knight smirked, preparing to call upon other Knights after reciving an answer from the Blademaster.
"Well... Adaron and I were in the lowest level of a dungeon facing this enemy, and I slipped on a stone, landing on the edge of my blade... I'm quite clumsy, you see. And when I used Repth, the scar just didn't fully heal. It must be a glitch in the system or something." when the Knight nodded, Wren sighed beneath his breath in relief.
"Right, then. You two are free to go, have fun and be careful. If you see a hacker, or anything suspicious, Gate Out immediatly and inform us." The Knight looked the two players sternly in the eyes before stepping back along with his companion so they didn't get taken to the area along with the players.
Wren lifted his hands into the air and spoke out clearly, "Delta Hideous Haunted Remnant!" With that, the two players were engulfed by gold wrings, and whisked away to the area where they surely would meet up with the mysterious Wavemaster.
Adaron - June 17, 2003 04:55 AM (GMT)
A set of three golden rings fell from the sky, and fell to the ground fading away and leaving a blue light to fill the immediate area. Wren and Adaron stepped forward into the area, which seemed to be freezing. Upon closer inspection it appeared as though the two of them had managed to gate in on a large frozen ship. They glanced around the ship to see that it was entirely frozen, and the water that it should have been floating on was frozen. In fact the entire area appeared to be one large frozen ocean. Both of them began to look around the area noticing large mountains of ice here and there.
Wren began to walk to the side of the ship, he looked down noting how far they were from the ground. He then noticed a ladder on the side of the ship and began to head toward it. Adaron followed him looking around the field. Left and right were enormous ice structures, upon one of the largest structures which appeared as if it were a mountain of ice Adaron noticed something strange. After a closer inspection he could make out a large creature standing on top of the large mountain of ice as if it were frozen in place. A great mammoth was indeed frozen in place on the mountain of ice as if looking over the vast field of ice.
When Wren had made his way down to the ground Adaron headed over to the ladder and began to climb down the ice structure. His left foot slipped a bit and caused him to lose his balance at one point, soon after he regained his balance and continued on down the ladder. The two comrades headed off onto the ocean of ice, looking to the different structures that surrounded them. The two of them passed one ice statue that was actually a fish that appeared to be leaping out of the ocean with a trail of water flowing behind it. Unfortunately it appeared as though the fish and the water had been frozen in place making the area seem even more strange than it was.
After a few minutes of walking Adaron and Wren began to come closer and closer to about 4 or 5 large hills. However unlike the white ice and snow they had been trudging through the mountains were a dark blue. It wasn't long before they were close enough to the hills to make out what they really were. The hills were in fact large whales that had been frozen in place as they surfaced for air. Some of their tails had also been frozen in place, Adaron gazed into one of the whale's eyes and raised his right eyebrow. Despite these strange objects the small group continued to walk onward.
Adaron looked up for a moment at the sky, it was a beautiful aqua color, and the stars could be seen in the sky though it was not yet completely dark. Adaron continued to stare into the sky, a bright smile covering his face while a shooting star passed overhead. Adaron snickers a bit shaking his head. "Make a wish...heh" he says to himself his lance still held slightly behind his back facing the heavens. Adaron stops for a moment looking back and fourth, after seeing Wren walk on without stopping he began to follow behind the man once more. "Wren...what could he want with you? This makes no sense to me I just don't understand it. And why bring us to places like this? None of the areas, though we have only been in one...where he appears are all very strange. This is a normal field but still it is no exception. This is a very strange field and we will be facing a very deadly opponent once more..." Adaron says to Wren as he then waits for the young Blademaster to respond.
Wren - June 19, 2003 02:43 PM (GMT)
Wren's boots clop viciously upon the icy ground as he walks, Adaron close behind speaking to him, asking questions. He lifts his arms up and places his hands behind his head, stopping. With a quick pivot on his left foot, Wren turns to face Adaron.
"To be honest, I don't know what he wants with me. Maybe I know him outside The World, maybe I don't, who's to say. But, who knows... Maybe he's not after me, maybe he's after someone else who I know, and just getting to them through me. I guess we'll just have to wait till we can talk to him to find out, 'eh?" Wren smiles, not at all concerned with the Wavemaster and his irritating games and ploys.
Well well, if it isn't the Blademaster and his Long Arm ally. Welcome to this world, The World, which shall be shaped to match my own vision! You're to be the first grains of sand washed out into the sea of data, my friends. Come, once again, to the dungeon. There, perhaps, we shall meet. If you're adventageous enough, and swift enough, you may catch me in action. See you!
The voice faded away with a malicious laughter, taunting the two players who stand out upon the fridig wasteland. "Well... I guess we shouldn't waste any time."
Wren takes from his pouch a small jar with a porous cap. "Let's just see what we're dealing with, shall we?" When he opens the cap, faeries are set loose upon the whole area, a slew of them fly out of the jar and head off in every imaginable direction.
"This should only take a second..." Wren sighs, looking at the now empty round jar that he once called a Fairy's Orb.
Suddenly, all the faeries returned to the jar, and formed out a map over the jar, revealing all the locations of Portals to the duo. "Well, then. The dungeon is that way," Wren points off towards the giant mounds with the frozen creature standing atop it, "We won't be without battles, this time. So be on guard."
Wren turns, dropping the jar into his pouch as he places his left hand upon the hilt of his Phase Blade lazily, starting off towards the dungeon, Adaron still walking behind him for some odd reason.
(OOC: Sorry for taking so long to post, I had a writer's block of sorts.)
Adaron - June 19, 2003 07:41 PM (GMT)
This field was no different from any other the group has been to, or was it? Wren trudges through the snow looking up every minute or so as if to make note of any landmarks he noticed on the map of the field. Behind him Adaron follows slowly, using his lance as a sort of walking cane, the blunt end of the weapon sent crashing into the snow and causing a small cloud of snowflakes to be sent flying into the air. The sky above them becomes a darker tone of blue, their shadows mimicking them in their own snow filled worlds.
Adaron stops for a second looking to the snowflakes which continue to flow from the sky, not breaking away from their constant pattern. He extends his left arm out opening his hand and watches as the snow falls from the sky into his palm. Adaron then waves his hand around a bit shaking the snow off and then continues to follow Wren. With the snow falling at the rate it was, it wasn't long before both of their heads were covered in small mountains of snow. Adaron snickered a bit bringing his left hand into his red hair and brushing the small mountain of snow from his head.
Their shadows continued to follow alongside the two companions, Adaron grinned a bit shifting his eyes down at his shadow. For a moment everything seemed to be quite peaceful, it was at that moment that Adaron raised his right eyebrow looking to the snow. Close behind his own shadow, another much larger shadow appeared, as if it were floating behind him. It wasn't long at all until two more shadows emerged from the snow behind Adaron.
The young long arm then gripped his lance and turned around to face two sowrdmanoid and a flying fish. "It seems as though someone has volunteered to welcome us to this field. "Prepare yourself Wren!" Adaron says and at the same moment sending his lance out at the sky fish. The large fanged creature dodges to the side with ease.
Adaron then looked one of the swordmanoid over for a second, noting the armor that covered the being. All of the armor that is except his face, the creature's face was the only part of its body not covered in armor and open for attack. Without a moment's hesitation Adaron brought the lance around in a horizontal swipe at the swordmanoid's chest. The blade of the lance slammed into its armor causing the being to stumble back a few feet. Before it could regain its composure Adaron thrusted up with the lance aiming at the creature's face. The swordmanoid dodged to the left bringing it's sword out at Adaron's waist. The long arm began to scream, trying to leap back out of the way but before he could the blade of the sword had pierced his waist.
Trying to ignore the pain, Adaron rushed forward at the swordmanoid. He then leaped into the air and began to soar toward the sky fish which was right beside the swordmanoid. In a split second Adaron landed on the sky fish causing it to wobble in the air. Adaron then raised his lance into the air and began to twirl it above his head. He then gripped the lance causing it to stop, the blade facing down at the swordmanoid's head. Without any time to escape the blow the swordmanoid shrieked in pain watching the blade of the lance fly into the base of its neck.
Just as Adaron was preparing to leap off of the sky fish it began to shake its entire body, causing Adaron to be sent flying into the air. The young man fell to the ground grabbing the wound at his waist. He cringed a bit and stumbled as he stood, he had to use the lance to regain his balance and it was then that he raised his left arm into the air. "Repth!" he called out, small orbs of light falling from the sky above him and disappearing as they came into contact with his body. After the orbs had disappeared Adaron's entire body began to glow with a white aura surrounding it. His wound began to heal and his strength was returned to him.
Without even thinking about his next move the swordmanoid ran toward Adaron, its sword held out in front of it. Adaron shifted to the left of the being bringing the blade of his lance around in a powerful strike at its face. With all the speed and power he could gather Adaron snickered watching the blade of the lance slam into the swordmanoid's forehead. He brought the blade across the monsters head and then stopped, twirling the lance around then gripping it so that the blade faced the heavens. Adaron then slid the lance behind his back a bit, watching the swordmanoid become dark in color and begin to fade away into data.
Wren - June 19, 2003 09:41 PM (GMT)
Ignoring the tribulations of his allies, as he tends to do, Wren drew forth the Phase Blade and brought it back and to the right side of his body as he rushed forward at the Sky Fish. In preparation for his opponent's idiocy, the Sky Fish began to bear his fangs, and flew forward at Wren.
Bringing the Blade close to his body so it wouldn't hinder his movement with its added weight, Wren hopped up into the air, landing one foot upon the head of the Sky Fish. Its head was flung down at the snow as Wren pushed off into an overly-elegant flip that would send him to the ground on his right knee.
As Wren landed, the Sky Fish plummeted into the snow, sending the icy shavings up in a wave, like the splash of a rock breaking the surface of a calm pond. The Sky Fish came back quickly, flying at the Blademaster.
Wren turned quickly, just barely dodging the Sky Fish's dash. He could feel for just an instant, the fang of the Fish grinding against his armor as it passed. Wren stood up, taking his blade into both hands and positioning it up front in his posture. "Well... Enough games."
A thin smirk crossed his lips and the Sky Fish came at him again. Wren thrust up and forward at the Fish as it came careening at him. But, to no avail, the Fish swung back up and around in a loop, evading the steel onslaught. Before Wren had a chance to react, the Fish came back around from its vertical 360 and slammed its head into Wren's stomach, sending Wren into the snow.
He skid for several feet before stopping, his body deeply embedded in the icy ground. Wren moaned as he sat up, his vision blurred. There was a shriek as the Fish came rushing at Wren once again, this time its fangs ready to poison the Blademaster.
Shaking off the concussion, Wren groped at his sword to find the hilt, then pulled it up into the air to block the Sky Fish's attack. Unfortunatly, the Fish hit the blunt end of the Phase Blade.
Standing back up, Wren lept forward at the paralyzed Sky Fish, who was still reeling slightly from its collision with the Phase Blade.
"Crack Beat!" Wren pulled his Phase Blade around into a powerful slash at the Sky Fish, who had just opened its mouth to attack again. The steel sword sliced straight through the Fish's head, separating the lower jaw from the upper jaw.
The fish fluttered down to the snow like a feather and became monochromatic, then faded off into binary data streams.
With the enemy dead, Wren turned his eyes to Adaron, who was still lying in the snow, his spear propped up at an odd angle as it seemd like he was about to stand up. Wren smiled, sheathing his Phase Blade. "Well... The welcoming committe is gone, shouldn't we get going, instead of lounging around?" he began to laugh quietly, almost like a chuckle.
Adaron - June 19, 2003 10:09 PM (GMT)
Adaron managed to stand up in the snow shifting his weight onto his lance. It was then that he remembered...there were three creatures, what had happened to the other swordmanoid? Upon thinking this to himself he noticed a figure dart out from behind a large rock and rush toward Wren. "Wren look out!" Adaron shouted leaping forward and bringing his spear in a vertical slash up at the swordmanoid's weapon. The blade of the lance met the blade of the sword, the sound of metal clanging against metal can be heard throughout the area. Adaron growled a bit and shoved the blade of his lance against the swordmanoid's blade causing the being to stumble back. The creature crashed into the ground giving Adaron enough time to dash forward at his fallen opponent.
Before the creature could manage to get up Adaron leaped forward making a slice down at the swordmanoid's face. The monster crawled back a bit in the snow, causing the blade to strike the armor that covered its chest. Beginning to grow more angry by the moment the swordmanoid slashed out at Adaron, before the blade could connect the long arm leaped back into the snow. The swordmanoid shrieked in anger, leaping up from the snow and charging at Adaron in an act of ignorance and rage combined. Adaron began to dash forward as well, he then stepped to the side and made a swipe at the ground with his lance. Before the swordmanoid knew what hit it the blunt end of the lance managed to trip the creature.
The swordmanoid tried to get up but slipped in the snow, this gave Adaron enough time to make yet another strike at the beast. The young man took a step forward and twirled the lance around, he then grabbed hold of the weapon causing it to stop. Getting into his usual stance Adaron snickered looking to the blade of the lance which now faced the ground, particularly aiming at the swordmanoid's neck. Adaron brought the lance down in one mighty strike at the beast's neck. Just as the swordmanoid managed to get up it was pinned to the ground once more. The creature shrieked in pain, the blade of the lance keeping it pinned to the ground.
Adaron ripped the blade from the swordmanoid's neck and watched the monster turn black and fade into data. He then turned to Wren and smiled a bit. "Yes lets get going..." he says using his lance as a walking cane once more. He began guiding himself through the snow with the lance and once more began to look to the strange structures that surrounded them.
"I think it is getting to the point where this is becoming a routine rather than a challenge. Or maybe we just haven’t made it far enough to face any real challenges." Adaron says to himself continuing to walk forward into the snow filled area. Every minute or two the young man looks back and fourth making sure the two of them are not surprised by anymore unwelcome guests. So they both headed out toward the dungeon, each step they take brings them closer and closer to the large building. Adaron looks to the top of the dungeon and stares at the large statue on top of it. The young man snickers a bit and then looks to Wren wondering what his companion could be planning, or if he is simply confused not knowing what to do when they face the Wavemaster.
Wren - June 20, 2003 05:04 AM (GMT)
The two warriors stood upon the brink of the dungeon, staring down into the darkness that the staircase fades off into. The echoing of footsteps and wood cloping against stone is heard in a familiar rhythm. A Wavemaster walking with his staff. "He's here... That has to be him down there. Let's go!"
Wren started down the stairs of the dungeon, fog coming out every time he exhaled. "I hate cold places... Why is it always the cold places?" Wren moaned. As they descended the stairs, the floor, ceiling, and walls become coated in a thin layer of ice.
When they had reached the bottom of the stairs the two found themselves in a small room with a door facing Southward. Upon the floor was a blue carpet. Wren came to stand before the door, not crossing its threshold.
"Well... here we go. The first step on what very well may be the last journey we take to find this Wavemaster. It's been good working with you, Adaron. Let us hope that this is not our burial ground." Wren smiles, stepping slowly through the doorway into a long hallway with a Portal at its far end.
"Let's get ready!" Wren draws forth his Phase Blade and rushes down the hallway, Adaron coming close behind.
The portal opens and releases Two swordmanoids. "Hah! Nothing! Each to his own, Adaron!"
Wren leapt forward with a vertical overhead slash at the Swordmanoid, who gently rose its blade to parry the blow. Their blades clashed, and the Swordmanoid threw Wren back a good six feet.
"Ah! Crap!" Wren skid across the stone floor, seeing Adaron fighting out of the corner of his eye as he sat up, "I won't let you get the best of me!"
Wren rushes forward again, staggering his running to make him a hard-to-hit target. The Swordmanoid slashes down at Wren in an oblique angle. With a quick duck and step to the side, Wren evades the Swordmanoid's blow. Then, releases a blow of his own that wretches a painful, earsplitting cry from the Swordmanoid when his Phase Blade passes through the lymphnodes of his foe.
"heh... I hope you like that, my friend." Wren smirks, speaking to the Swordmanoid. Wren then steps back from the shocked Swordmanoid. and raises his blade into both hands, "Crack Beat!" Wren leaps forward into a powerful slash, but it has come too late. His enemy recovers from the shock of its wound and it slips out of the range of his opponent's slash. Then quickly the Swordmanoid hacks down at Wren's arm.
Wren falls forward to the ground, blood pouring from his wounded right arm. The Swordmanoid lifts its blade up overhead as Wren convulges on the cold stone floor.
As the Swordmanoid's blade falls, Wren rolls out of the way and kicks at the calf of the Swordmanoid. This causes the Swordmanoid to topple down onto its face, dropping its blade.
When the Swordmanoid looks up, it finds Wren standing, Phase Blade in his right hand, wtih his left hand clasped firmly over the wound that's bleeding profusely. "Now... goodbye."
With a single slash down at the Swordmanoid, Wren yells out, "Crack Beat!"
His Phase Blade hews straight through the Swordmanoid's head, causing it to become monochrome. After it is monochromatic for a moment, it fades away into binary data.
"Repth!" White light fades down from the sky around Wren's body, removing all wounds from his body except for the scar on his right cheek. Then, from fatigue, and from lack of SP, he collapses down upon his right knee, using his Phase Blade for support.
"Well... that wasn't too hard." He smirks, still gasping for breath.
Adaron - June 20, 2003 06:50 AM (GMT)
Bringing it's sword around at Adaron's left side, the swordian then began to charge at Adaron. Before the young man could manage to dodge the attack the blade sinked into his side, making a gash slightly above his waist. Adaron gripped his lance and looked to the creature with a strange look on his face. He twirled the lance around and in an instant thrusted the weapon out at the being. The beast shrieked a bit as the blade of the lance flew into it's chest.
Adaron took a step back and brought the lance out in another swipe at the swordian. This time the being was able to move to the side dodging the attack and thrusting its own blade out at Adaron. The young long arm stepped to the side shaking his head and then crouched to the ground. Both of his eyes began to glow a bit for a moment, his white suit seeming to flash black. He raised his right arm into the air, moving his left arm up and grasping the lance. In a smooth movement he brought the lance down in a spiral at the swordian's head.
Before the creature could even begin to back away from the blow the blade of the lance sliced into its head. The creature howled in pain and fell over onto the ground as its entire body began to turn a dark shade of gray. Soon the swordian began to fade into data, until it was entirely gone from the field. "Repth!" Adaron shouted as orbs of white light fell from the sky above him. The orbs of light fell down to the ground and upon coming into contact with the ground began to fade away. When the orbs had completely faded from view a white aura surrounded Adaron's entire body, causing his wound to heal completely.
"Not too hard, in fact it was almost entertaining..." Adaron says in a sarcastic tone. He snickered to himself and then twirled the lance around in his right hand. He gripped the lance causing it to stop and then thrusted the weapon onto his shoulder. He looked around the dungeon for a moment making sure that their "friend" was no anywhere in sight. When he was confident that the entire room was safe he began to walk back and fourth, tapping the lance up and down on his shoulder. He then stopped, allowing the weapon to slide down from his shoulder. Adaron twirled the lance around and let it stop so that the blade was facing the ceiling. He then slid the weapon behind his back just a bit, letting his arm rest to his side.
Adaron looked over to Wren who appears to have taken more blows from his opponent. The young Long Arm exhaled for a moment and looked to the ceiling thinking to himself for a moment. "We cannot talk as if this is goodbye. I have a strong feeling that neither of us will die here. This fool is not yet done with you, although I am not sure why he has kept me alive. Perhaps I am needed to help you get you where he needs you?" Adaron asks laughing to himself. He looks to Wren awaiting a response and wondering what his companion could be thinking at this moment.
Wren - June 23, 2003 05:00 AM (GMT)
"Well, one can only hope that we'll survive. If things keep going like this, we should be okay. But... What do you think would happen if we had to fight this Wavemaster? I mean, how much life do you think he has? For all we know he's unbeatable." Wren sighs as he stood up straight, peering into the shadows of the door ahead of them, which had recently been released from the grip of iron bars.
"So... shall we go?" a smirk crosses Wren's face as he looks to Adaron, without waiting for a reply, he continues forward into the next room.
With eyes turned skyward, Wren and Adaron find themselves in a curved hallway with giant cages hanging from the ceiling bearing massive skeletons that lean against the bars or have their legs hanging out. "This is... inviting." Slipping his hands up behind his head Wren leans back stretching his back muscles out.
"No sense in just standing here... There are two doors to choose from, The door at the other end, or this door right over here," Wren motions off towards the pinnacle of the curve in the hallway where there is a doorway, "pick and choose."
Portal to the inner eye, Pick your fate and choose your path. To the inner chambers of my heart, where the pulsating walls of the chambers within will crush your bones and their acids will eat away at your soul until you're a shadow of a man. I'm glad to see you two are still alive. That was very entertaining, and I can't wait to see what you'll do with my new toy. Come quickly... I'm getting anxious!
With that, the Wavemaster's voice faded away into the shadows of the room. "God, that guy gives me the creeps. So, Adaron, which door should we take?" Wren turns towards Adaron, the things which had been said by their friend, the Wavemaster, still lurking bright in his mind.
"I don't want to choose..."
Wren - June 24, 2003 08:57 PM (GMT)
"Let's just check the far door, see where that leads. If there's anything but a hallway or a dead end, we'll come back to the other door. We should probably check everywhere we can..." Wren sighed, walking along the hallway, every so often passing beneath the shadow of a large cage.
Adaron followed behind him, seemingly lost in his own thoughts. Wren wondered if something was wrong, he hadn't said anything since they had heard the Wavemaster.
When Wren and Adaron came to the far door, Wren stopped and drew forth his Phase Blade. "Okay... Let's just hope there isn't a portal in here." Gripping the Phase Blade tightly in his hand, Wren burst into the following room, only to find it a dead end. There were boxes and barrels standing in neat rows and columns, leaving an aisle in the center.
"Hmph... Well, at least it's not a fight." Wren kicked over one of the barrels, "Let's go back to that other door. Hopefully there's something there."
The two were now standing infront of the door at the pinnacle of the hallway's curve. Wren took a deep breath, gripping the hilt of the Phase Blade with his sweaty palms. Wren had his back to the left side of the door, Adaron had his back to the right side. The two looked at one another, and nodded.
Wren broke into the long hallway, with its prison-like bars on either side, harboring skeletons behind them, and its long sky blue carpet that ran straight across to the door at the other end of the hall. A large eye-shaped design loomed on the wall over the far door. Adaron broke in seconds after, and the two were now standing before a Magic Portal, spinning on its axis.
The Blademaster took one step forward, and little orbs of yellow light broke outward in all directions as the Portal faded, leaving two Sky Fish and two swordmanoids.
"D--n, looks like we're at it again..." Wren sighed, his eyes glancing between Adaron and the monsters.
Adaron - June 24, 2003 09:27 PM (GMT)
Adaron brought his lance down to his right side and gripped it with both arms looking to one of the sky fish. "We need to take them out before we are poisoned." he says dashing forward at one of the sky fish. Before he reached the creature the sky fish slid to the right avoiding the attack. Adaron growled a bit and began to spin around, now facing the sky fish with his lance to his side. He let go of the lance with his left hand and brought the blade around at the creature's side with his right arm. Once more before the blade could strike the creature dodged to the left. This time the sky fish flew into a position that left its body facing up to the ceiling, it stretched its fins out like the wings of a butterfly and began to flap them wildly in the air. While the fins began to sway back and fourth and amazing speeds, they also released a cloud of poison into the air.
Adaron began to inhale preparing to hold his breath, but it was a little too late for him. The poison was filling his lungs and sinking into his skin before he knew it. The Long Arm exhaled, his eyes began to glow a bit and within a split second he was dashing forward at the sky fish once more. "Double Sweep!" Adaron shouted bringing his lance out at the sky fish. The creature attempted to dodge but was still within the range of the attack. Adaron brought the blade of the lance across the beast's face causing blood to spray from the wound. He then stopped when the blade had reached his left side and then brought it around once more at the creature's side. A slight ripping noise is heard as the blade of the lance slashes through the creature's skin, before the sky fish has any time to retreat Adaron pushes the lance deeper into its body. The blade punctures the sky fish' organs causing it to scream out in pain falling from the sky, it fell to the ground with a slight crash...fading away from The World.
Adaron turned around facing the remaining monsters, his head was now throbbing in pain from the poison of the sky fish. Before he had time to react the swordmanoid began to rush at Adaron, one occupying each side of the young man. Adaron tried to step back but before he knew it the blades of the swordmanoid both flew into his side. Adaron began to scream as a red aura began to burst from his eyes filling the entire room with a bright red light. He began to stand up ignoring the pain and then looked to one of the swordmanoid. He dashed forward at the creature, the swordmanoid took a defensive position and looked up to see Adaron leap into the air. The Long Arm soared above the being and landed behind it on the ground. Before he even began to stand around began to spin around and brought the lance up at the swordmanoid's back which he was now facing. The tip of the lance flew into the creature's back causing it to stumble forward. The swordmanoid regained its balance and turned to face Adaron.
The creature then rose it's sword into the air and before it could begin to strike Adaron made a thrust out at the swordmanoid's face. The blade of the lance flew into the beast’s skull, a loud cracking noise was heard. In no time at all blood began to pour from the swordmanoid's face...dripping down its entire body. Adaron pulled the lance back and snickered watching as they creature turned a dark shade of gray and began to fade into nothing more than data. Adaron stumbled back and began to chant to himself. "Repth!!" he shouted, small spheres of light began to fall from the sky and onto his body and the ground around him. Soon Adaron's wound was healed...but not completely gone. He soon realized he would need to cast Repth once more to even begin to regain his strength.
Adaron reached into the pouch at his side and grabbed an Antidote from it. He opened the bottle and began to drink the bitter liquid, trying not to get too sick from the substance that was supposed to cure him. Before long the poison was gone from his system and his head stopped pounding as he began to chant to himself once more. While in the process of healing himself once more Adaron looked over to his companion hoping he would be more successful than the young Long Arm was.
Wren - June 24, 2003 10:02 PM (GMT)
Wren planted his feet at shoulder's width apart from one another, gripping the hilt of the Phase Blade tightly. The Swordmanoid stood before him, ten paces away with its blades crossed over its chest. From off to the left the Sky Fish made a charge at him.
At the last second, Wren ducked and leapt backwards, barely evading the blow. But, to no avail, the Swordmanoid had rushed at the Blademaster just as soon as he had moved. The pummeling rush of the Swordmanoid sent Wren staggering backwards.
"Da-- Ahh!" Wren pulled his blade up just in time to parry the Swordmanoid's blades, which had been coming down with crushing speed at Wren's shoulders. "That was close..." Suddenly there was a sharp pain running up the lymphnodes on his right hand side beneath his arm. The Sky Fish had bit into his body, blood gushing out from the wound.
"Gaah!!!" the Sky Fish released its grip, the skin around the wound was purple and swollen and Wren began to swoon. The Swordmanoid lashed out again with a scissor-cut aimed at Wren's head. Wincing in pain, Wren pulled his sword up and parried again. The pure force of the attack knocked Wren back off of his feet. Unrelenting, the Swordmanoid slashed out again at Wren. Once again, Wren parried the blow by raising his sword up.
The Sky Fish had circled around and was about to release its poison at the fallen Blademaster. Forcing back the deadly blades of the Swordmanoid, Wren tilted his head back and saw the Sky Fish begin to flap its wings. "Sh-t, I have to move.." he muttered, gritting his teeth.
As the irridescent mass of poisonous cloud oozed into the air, Wren turned onto his leg and shoulder, giving one strong push at the Swordmanoid, knocking it back far enough for Wren to stand. He rolled away from the fluttering poisonous cloud and came to a standing posture.
Raising up the Phase Blade again, he cursed, "Da-n, I have to fight back!" The Swordmanoid then made another scissor-cut attempt on Wren's upper torso. Quickly, Wren slashed at an oblique angle, colliding with his opponent's blades, sending them down and to the right, which left the body and right arm open for attack. Without hesitation, Wren yelled out "Crack Beat!" and rose his blade into a slash across the Swordmanoid's torso.
This sent the Swordmanoid barreling backwards, but it wasn't dead yet. The Sky Fish, wheeling around for another attack, shrieked out and made a charge at Wren's back. Hearing the shriek, Wren turned and rose his blade straight out like a pike. Before the Sky Fish could react, it found itself skewered, mouth to tail, on Wren's Phase Blade, like a Kabob. Without falling from Wren's sword, the Sky Fish faded away into strings of binary data.
Wren rose his sword into the air and took a shallow breath, "Rep--"
The Swordmanoid, who Wren thought he had slain, thrust its blade up into Wren's right thigh. Wren curled over and cried out in pain as the Swordmanoid wretched its blade in a 90 degree angle, tearing apart Wren's leg.
With a thud, Wren fell to the ground, as did the Swordmanoid. Wren had thrown his blade down with both hands at the Swordmanoid's head as he plummeted to the ground. The weakened Swordmanoid was unable to parry or dodge this blow.
Wren's body lay amid a cloud of dust, as his sword, now jammed a good five inches into the ground, stood erect in the fading head of the Swordmanoid.
His fingers flinched as Wren fought to get back to his feet, the wound in his right side still throbbing and purple.
After several minutes, Wren got to his feet, using the Phase Blade as a support, and he yelled out "Repth!" With that, a white light came down upon his body, engulfing him in orbs of white light. When the light faded, Wren's wounds were mostly healed, leaving him strong enough to move on. The purple in his right side was gone, but the wounds were still there, scabs and covered over scars that would fade with another Repth or two.
Adaron - June 24, 2003 10:41 PM (GMT)
Adaron began to chant to himself once more. "Repth." he called out to himself, the area above his head began to fill with light. Small orbs of light began to dance from the sky and spiral down onto his body. It wasn't long before the light had faded and revealed his body was now completely healed. Adaron shook his head a bit and began to close his eyes thinking to himself for a moment.
...
It wasn't that long ago, why would he be so different though? I want to know more about him...he is too foolish to be so strong, so different, and so important. He was able to find out so much information though...before I did! There is just something not quite right about him. The others as well, they all seem to play such an important role. Especially the one who leads his followers in what he believes to be a path to glory, and yet I wonder...will they actually become the heroes they so desire everyone to know them as, or perish trying?
...
Adaron opened his eyes, which were now flooded with a bright red aura and looked up to Wren. "We should get going, I would rather not stay in this dungeon any longer than we have to. I would like to find this Wavemaster before he finds us..." Adaron says, he begins to walk toward Wren as his left eye flashes with an even brighter aura of a much darker red color. Adaron looks to the door that would lead them into the next room and proceeds to walk through it. It isn't long before Adaron is engulfed by the dark shadows that surround the exit. Wren follows Adaron and emerges from the shadows into the next room.
All around them are skeletons of fallen warriors, hanging from the ceiling from the chains that suspend them in the air. The two of them appear to be surrounded by a spiked iron railing, the floor is a light gray colored stone and there is a door on the right side of the wall. The walls are a light blue color with golden markings here and there, but it is the skeletons that catch their attention. The skeletons are hanging from all different positions, some suspended by their feet, there skulls seeming to smile down at Adaron and Wren. In the upper left corner another skeleton sits against the iron railing. Beyond the railing the area below the ground they stand upon seems to be surrounded by a dark pit. The pit runs along the left side of the room and continues up in a flipped L shape until it stops at the top right corner of the room.
A few feet away from the railing that separates the stone flooring from the fence stands the door, engulfed in darkness and leading into yet another unknown area. "Wren, not everyone in The World is someone you can trust. We all have secrets hidden deep within ourselves. Some of us decide never to allow these secrets to escape, while others allow the truth to escape their grasp and journey into the minds of another." Adaron says looking to Wren, with a slight grin he then continues on toward the door, headed to the next room. He then stops just before reaching the door and looks back to Wren, the grin from his face begins to fade as he then turns to face the dark path which would lead him into the next room. Adaron steps forward disappearing from sight once more, and leaving Wren to catch up to him.
Wren - June 24, 2003 11:46 PM (GMT)
"H-Hey! Wait up!" Wren goes dashing off into the shadow of the doorway after Adaron.
He's beginning to act strangely... What's going on?
When Wren entered the next room, he found Adaron descending the stairs into the second story of the dungeon. "Hmm... Odd."
Once again Wren rushed forward to make it to the bottom of the stairs with Adaron. After passing through the following doorway into the first real room of the 2nd floor, Wren and Adaron found themselves in a large squared off room with a door on the left wall and a door on the right wall, there was a Magic Portal in the center of the room, spinning on its axis, nothing too unusual. There were skeletons of dead players scattered across the floor, but that was typical of a room with a portal in it.
"So... we can either engage this portal, or we can try and sneak around it." Wren stood there thinking, staring at the patterns in the stone floor just beyond his feet.
"Lets just try to go around this one, my SP hasn't fully recovered... Speaking of which." Wren lifts his hand up into the air and shouts out, "Repth!" once again the white orbs of light engulf his body. Once they fade away, the remaining wounds from the previous fight are no longer there. "That's better..."
Wren began to walk along the edge of the wall, maybe about a foot away from it, so he wouldn't activate the portal. He had to step over two skeletons so far, and had nearly slipped on the first one because he wasn't looking.
"Almost... there..." his eyes began to twinkle as he saw the door that leads to the East get ever closer. At that moment, Wren finally slipped on a loose bone that he hadn't been looking out for.
He lost his balance and teetered to the left towards the Portal. Wren ended up regaining his balance again, but the portal bulged and then burst open revealing a simple three Swordmanoids.
"Dangit... I was hoping we could avoid this one." The ringing sound of the Phase Blade sliding against its scabbard echoed against the walls as Wren released his sword and gripped its hilt tightly.
"Sorry about this Adaron." Wren chuckled, feeling pretty dumb at this point.
Adaron - June 25, 2003 12:27 AM (GMT)
"Well since you are low on SP let me help you a little." Adaron says, his eyes now becoming a dark crimson color and allowing a brilliant red light to flow from them. He takes a step forward with his right foot swinging the lance around at the first swordmanoid. The blade flies into the beings armor causing it to fly back into the other swordmanoid. He then took a step forward with his left foot and brought his lance around once more just as they two swordmanoid were getting up. The second managed to duck but the first cried out in pain as the blade of the weapon was sent flying into its face. He continued to bring the blade across the swordmanoid until the blade emerged from the other side of its face. Adaron took a few steps back and began to charge the first swordmanoid a second time. He took another swipe at the creature and snickered as the blade was sent flying into its waist. The creature cried out in mixed emotions of both pain and rage, it then brought its sword down at the lance. Adaron quickly pulled the weapon back and before he could manage to move the swordmanoid began to charge at him.
Adaron quickly leaped to the right of the attack, and to his surprise so did the swordmanoid. It was then that the creature threw its blade out at Adaron's right arm. The blade punctured his skin, the swordmanoid then pushed the blade in deeper causing Adaron to scream in pain. The Long Arm cringed and closed his eyes trying not to notice the blade being pulled from his arm. The blade was pulled from his arm in a zig zag manner which caused even more pain and damage to Adaron's arm. He opened his eyes and began to breathe heavily, it was then that a ring of light began to flicker above his head. The dark red pupils of his eyes began to stop glowing and become a very dark shade of red. The ring of light continued to flicker and in doing so seemed to trigger the necklace around Adaron's neck. The single feather attached to the necklace began to float into the air and caused a blinding golden light to pour into the entire room. The swordmanoid covered their eyes as did Wren, trying to protect them from the light. When the light had completely faded from view, it appeared as though the necklace had left with it.
The Long Arm was kneeling down on his right knee with his head bowed, soon what appeared to be half of a glowing golden halo could be seen floating above his crimson colored hair. His entire body began to tremble for a moment, and his voice began to echo throughout the area. "I grow tired of this..." he says, and after muttering this a large object bursts from his left shoulder, causing blood to fly into the air. As the drops of blood fell to the ground like crimson rain, the large object began to sparkle and become even larger. Adaron began to stand up, the wound on his shoulder fading and leaving only the sight of the single sparkling white wing that had sprouted from his left shoulder. Adaron snickered for a moment and then raised his lance into the air.
The swordmanoid before him uncovered its eyes only to see the blade of the lance come crashing down into it's right eye. Adaron used all of the power he could gather to push the blade further into the creature's eye. Soon the lance had managed to pin the creature to the ground, the swordmanoid become a dark gray color and was soon completely dead to The World. As Adaron began to pull the lance from the creature the second swordmanoid rushed at the young man. Adaron took a step back but the creature managed to leap forward in an act of rage and screamed throwing it's sword out at Adaron's stomach. Before he could move the sword sliced across his stomach causing blood to pour from the wound. Adaron then fell to the ground grabbing the wound with his left hand. Soon the stone floor was covered in a puddle of blood.
Adaron held the lance like a walking cane, trembling as he pulled himself up and began to chant. His entire body began to glow a bright red color, making it obvious that the wound had caused major damage. "GAN ZOT!" Adaron called out looking down to watch as the area underneath the swordmanoid began to tremble. Before the creature could move large pillars of stone began to burst from the ground. The creature stumbled, falling down onto the ground just as a pillar began to fly from the ground underneath it. The pillar was sent flying through the being's chest and carried it into the air. The swordmanoid lay there, suspended from the pillar and screaming while its entire body began to turn black. The swordmanoid began to fade away into data and the large stone pillars soon followed, falling back down into the earth from which they had been born.
Adaron looks up to Wren for a moment and snickers with a blank stare on his face. Knowing he could not manage to cast another Repth, he reached into the pouch at his side and began to dig around for a health drink. Soon his hand emerged and in it was a small bottle that was filled with a brilliant glowing liquid. He opened the bottle and let the liquid flow into his mouth as his wound began to glow and eventually recover from the attack via the Health Drink. He glanced over to Wren knowing that his companion could easily take out the swordmanoid, Adaron had bought enough time for his ally to recover his SP. Adaron continued to breath heavily and soon collapsed onto the ground, his large wing stretched out across the ground and the half halo still floating above his head.
Wren - June 25, 2003 12:50 AM (GMT)
When Wren uncovered his eyes, he was mesmerized by his ally's transformation. So much so that he almost failed to realize that the third Swordmanoid had begun to charge at him, bypassing the Long Arm who had challenged the other two.
The sound of heavy movement brought Wren's attention around just in time, the blunt end of the Swordmanoid's blade slammed into the center of Wren's forehead, instead of into his temple, which surely would have killed him.
Wren fell backwards, unprepared to face this foe, his Phase Blade had fallen from his grasp with the fall. The Swordmanoid thrust down at his prone chest, forcing the Blademaster to catch the collapsing fate that would have stricken him asunder and sent him to the depths of Hell.
At the sight of the Blademaster grasping the Swordmanoid's blade, it fell into a temporary state of shock, leaving Wren to kick his feet up into the Swordmanoid's torso, sending it sprawling back.
In one quick and fluid motion, Wren rolled forward, grabbing up his Phase Blade as he rolled by it into his left hand. When he came out of the roll, he took it in his right hand without missing a beat, and thrust it forward at the Swordmanoid who was still reeling from the kick.
With a gutwrenching sound, like nails on a chalkboard, Wren's blade pierced and slid through the armored shoulder of the Swordmanoid. He then pulled the blade out as he stood upright.
The Swordmanoid, now quite vibrant and filled with vigor, slashed down at Wren's right shoulder. Wren simply stepped to his left, the opponent's right, raising up his Phase Blade, which caught the Swordmanoid's elbow, not the weapon.
"Heh... Gotcha." With an intricate motion in the wrist, Wren manuvered his blade and then used his left hand to put extra power in the attack to come by pulling on the counterweight of the hilt like a pendulum. With one quick swoom Wren pulled the Phase Blade in an arching circle, which removed the left arm of the Swordmanoid.
"Wow... I didn't think it would work." Wren was surprised, and excited at the same time, his adrenaline was rushing now. His eyes glanced quickly back to Adaron as he felt the ground tremble. He saw a Swordmanoid fade away, skewered by a stone pillar.
The clanging of metal and putting of weight against his blade quickly snapped Wren back to attention. The Swordmanoid had made an attempt to knock Wren off balance while he wasn't looking. Wren simply gave the Swordmanoid some leway, then rose up his foot and kicked it back in the lower torso, and pushed its upper torso away at the same time with his sword.
Then, Wren decided to finish it off, he stepped forward into a lunge, crying out "Crack Beat!"
The 8-Phase Blade fell with unrelenting fury, the clang of a sword smashing against a sword was heard, then a shattering sound, like glass. Wren's Phase Blade had broke the Swordmanoid's blade asunder and cleaved right down into the creatures torso.
After a moment of silence, the Swordmanoid's body fell to the ground as it became monochromatic. Shortly after it faded off into binary strands of data and vanished from the room.
Turning back to Adaron, who, to Wren's surprise, was now on the ground, he looked down at the fallen Long Arm. "Hey... You okay?"
Without thinking, Wren lift the Phase Blade up into the air and cried out "Repth!"
White light eminated from the ceiling and covered Adaron's fallen Player-Character. When the light faded, and the white orbs of light and energy had been absorbed into his body, Adaron's wounds were gone, and he was as well as one could be given the circumstances.
"That was... Interesting, what happened to you?" Wren walked up to Adaron and knelt down beside him.
Adaron - June 25, 2003 01:52 AM (GMT)
Adaron manages to lift himself off of the ground and is now also kneeling down on the stone floor."What is there to explain? Some of us choose to be different, to...bend the rules to suit our own desires..." Adaron says while beginning to smile a bit. "If you must know, this is an illegally edited skin. I chose to hide myself while Mac Anu was overcrowded with the Knights of War. Either way now I will no longer be able to use my disguise it seems." he says looking around the area. Adaron looks back to Wren "Thanks by the way, I will have to return the favor of saving you someday, right? Either way you were headed to the east gate so let’s go now that this area has been cleared of all apparent dangers." he says starting to get up and walk off toward the east gate. Wren follows Adaron and they are both soon passing through the door which leads them into momentary darkness. As they emerge from the dark shadows and step into the light of the next area they find themselves facing a forked path. Adaron looks to the left and right and laughs to himself.
"Wherever we go we seem to be either attacked by monsters or given a choice that could either destroy us or reward us for our efforts." Adaron mumbles then turning to face Wren. Before the young man could reply Adaron began to speak again. "Anyway...about my transformation. You see I am in danger of being removed from The World as I am sure you are aware. The system administrators are very strict, any player like myself who chooses to be different and bend the rules is an automatic threat to The World. What many of the fools fail to realize is that behind there back...their true enemy hides within the shadows of The World. They hide awaiting special players such as yourself to choose as their victims. Some of these "enemies" are known as...well I suppose that's not important right now. You were chosen above all others for some reason to receive that message, as your foolish friend was also chosen along with a select group. I have now gathered enough information to know that the area they were sent to was altered much in the same way the area we faced the Wavemaster in was altered." Adaron explains as he begins to walk back and fourth across the room.
The room was much like any other they had been to, the walls were blue and a red carpet ligned with gold was leading down both paths. The paths seemed to encourage players to step forward into an unknown situation and face what could be the end of their journeys. Adaron stopped once more and began talking "I am also one of the few who wants to know the who, why, when, where, and how of all of this. There HAS to be a reason that people such as yourself were chosen above others. In fact I know there is, it just doesn't make sense if there were no reason for you, Asura, and the others being singled out. The answer is all around us, things aren’t just happening in The World by some unknown stroke of luck. There is a reason for such things happening...and I plan on finding out why they do." he finishes, his wing now beginning to sparkle even more.
...
Perhaps I will continue this act...he will be valuable later. He could be the key to all of the answers I seek. So Wren...continue to trust others you meet. Trust... trust is nothing more than someone wishing that something could be when it is really just another lie. Fall victim...to your own mind Wren.
...
Adaron looks up, he then glances over at Wren. He smiles a bit and his eyes begin to glow as they always did, this time though it appeared as though they were much lighter in color...
Wren - June 25, 2003 04:44 AM (GMT)
Wren catches Adaron's glance, and he becomes a little uneasy, resting his left wrist upon the hilt of his Phase Blade, and returning his right arm to the small of his back. "I'd like to know why he chose me as well... I don't even think I know this person."
As Adaron runs through and explains all sorts of things, Wren walks down to the crossroads and looks down both hallways, towards either side. "Hmm..."
Now now, dear Adaron. It seems that you have chosen to show yourself to us at last. I always wondered why you continued to tag along with this boy. Most other players would have left after my beloved Scorpion Tank... Curse those admins! But they wont intervene this time, oh no. I've my eye on you, now, more than ever. You may find your answers, in the shadows, stay vigilant.
The voice of the Wavemaster slowly began to trail off, Wren was glancing all about the room for some signs of another player's presence. However, he found none.
Oh, and Max... This time I will win, you shant be so lucky a third time.
With that, the voice faded away, leaving Wren and Adaron alone again in that T shaped hall.
"Who IS that guy!?" huffs Wren, walking over to a wall and kicking it in frustration. Wren then let his forehead rest against the cool stone wall, and he slid down to rest upon his ankles, his forehead and palms, along with the fingertips, resting against the cold rock wall.
"This is so frustrating! I--- God!" Wren clenches his right hand into a fist and slams it against the wall, again, out of frustration, "I have to figure this out."
After sitting there for a few minutes, Wren stood up and regained composure. Walking down to the door that faces South. Standing on the threshold, he turned back to Adaron and looked him square in the face, his expression firm and composed, as it used to be, "Stay there, I'm just going to look in this room. I shall call if there is a portal..."
With that, Wren turned back to the shadowed door and passed through it into the unknown. From the darkness there came a scream, then the shattering and snapping of iron and wood could clearly be heard intermingled with these sounds of pain and confusion. After a few minutes of this, all fell silent.
Moments later Wren exited the room, cool and composed, just as he was upon entering. He looked towards Adaron again and then towards the door at the North end of the hall. "The other way, this way is a dead end..."
Wren stepped forward, expressionless and calm, his left wrist resting upon the hilt of his Phase Blade, right hand behind his back, and started walking towards the door that faced North which would hopefully lead to some room other than a dead end. He didn't much care if it was a fight or not anymore.
I have to figure this out...
Adaron - June 25, 2003 05:46 AM (GMT)
Adaron snickers a bit, his snicker turns into an even louder laugh. He begins to shake his head laughing and continues to walk "Going crazy, are we Wren?" Adaron asks looking to the young man and then bursting into yet another fit of laughter. "That fool doesn't scare me, why let all of this get to you? Don't tell me you are bothered by all of this...well...are you Wren?" Adaron asks seeming to please himself with taunting the Blademaster. Adaron hurried to catch up to Wren, before either could exchange any other words they found themselves in yet another room.
This room had a large raised platform in the center of the room. In each corner of the platform were tall candles which helped the torches along the walls in lighting the area. Steps lead up to the platform from every side of it, and in the center of the platform a large golden sphere of light could be seen spinning around in place. Adaron grins a bit and walks past Wren, looking ahead ready to fight whatever enemies may confront them. He thrusts his lance out at the portal, causing the large golden sphere of light to swirl around and grow even larger than it was. Soon the sphere had faded from view and unleashed two sky fish to face Wren and Adaron.
"I really do try to be a nice person." Adaron says raising his lance above his head with his right arm. He then grabs hold of it with his left arm and looks back to Wren. "So lets just forget what was said back there, heh" he adds then bringing the lance down at the sky fish. Before the blade came into contact with the flying beast it dodged to the right. Adaron raised an eyebrow and leaped back away from the creature. He then sent the lance forward in a thrust at the creature's left eye. The sky fish dodged the attack by flying even higher into the air. Adaron looked up with a smirk and simply waited for the creature to return to the lower level of the room to strike once more.
Without him knowing the second sky fish snuck up behind Adaron and then charge forward at his back. The sky fish head butted his back causing Adaron to fly forward. He slammed into the ground and began to slide forward as the second sky fish took a dive down at the Long Arm. Before he knew it the second sky fish had also rammed into his back. Adaron could barely move from the pain that was flowing through his entire body. He struggled to get up, when he had managed to get to his feet he was faced with a familiar stance. The sky fish had managed to get itself into position to release a cloud of poison upon his victim. Adaron rolls to the left, he then stops in a crouched position. He leaps up into the air at the sky fish and makes a swipe at its side. The blade of the lance manages to dig into its flesh, Adaron pulls the lance causing the blade to rip even more of the skin.
The Long Arm lands on the ground and then pivots around on his right foot swinging the blade of the weapon out at the sky fish once more. The lance punctures deep into the beast causing it to howl in pain and begin to fall to the ground. Adaron ripped the lance from its body and twirled the large weapon around. He then gripped the lance with his right hand causing it to come to a sudden stop which left the blade of the lance facing down at the sky fish. He dashed forward and thrusted down at the left fin of the horrid creature. Before he could end the attack the second sky fish flew at Adaron once more and at an amazing speed.
The fish dove into his right side causing the Long Arm to fly to the left at the wall, he released the lance and watched it fall to the ground. Before he could think of how to react he crashed into the wall, the impact caused him to lose his breath and his vision to become blurred for a moment. Adaron regained his vision soon after the impact but he then began to gasp for air. He started to breathe once more, his breaths were fast and short now. He stared at the already fallen sky fish with a look of hatred in his eyes. He ran over to his lance, taking it into his right hand once more and thrusting it out at the second sky fish. The creature began to retreat allowing Adaron to focus on his fallen opponent. Adaron sent the lance flying down at the sky fish...the blade pierced its side causing the creature to cry out one last time. Adaron then drove the lance in deep and began to pull it back causing an even larger wound to form on the beast.
Adaron looked over to Wren, hoping that his comrade had not already decided to let the Long Arm perish for what he had said. Adaron stopped grinning for a moment and then turned to the sky fish. "Look, forget what I said, I am sorry. We all say things we do not mean, ignore my foolish taunts and laughter." Adaron says getting into stance once more and preparing to attack the sky fish if he had to.
Wren - June 25, 2003 06:57 AM (GMT)
The cold expression on Wren's face faded away as he drew forth the Phase Blade from its scabbard. The familiar sound of metal upon sheath rung through the room. With this sound's fading, an eerie smirk crossed Wren's typically vacant face and he made a blind rush at the Sky Fish. The fish charged forward at the Blademaster, bearing its fangs. Just then, before the two collided, Wren skid to a halt and genuflexed, raising the Phase Blade up into the air, hoping to wound if not kill the charging fish.
Unfortunatly, the fish had dodged around the blade and was already circling around for a second charge at the Blademaster. "Not again..." Wren sighed as the Fish bore its fangs at him in its charge. Wren slashed his sword out, the metal clanging against one or two of the fangs, this sent an unpleasant shock through the fish's body, and it floated backwards long enough for Wren to stand back up.
"Well, well... Not so tough?" Wren smirked, raising his Phase Blade dramatically over his head. Just as he began to slash downwards upon the unfortunate foe of his, the fish made a charge at his open torso. It slammed right into his stomach, stunning the Blademaster for a moment.
In this short time, the Fish had tilted itself and begun to flap its wings vigorously. "No!!" Wren cried out, "Crack Beat!" He pulled the blade across in a wide arch, hoping to slay the beast before it released the venomous gases. However, the fish parried the blow, and refrained from trying to release the poisons.
"Da-n, can't I hit you!?" Wren leapt forward with a slash at the fish, it flew down and to the right. In response, Wren quickly pivoted on his right heel and slashed around behind him in a backhanded motion. The fish flew up over the blade, and Wren stopped it as best he could, then jumped up, slicing in an upward arc with the blade.
The fish dodged for a final time, to the right once again. Although, this time it found itself hitting a wall. Wren crouched down and leapt up at the fish again, thrusting out at it. This time, it flew straight down and tried to escape the wall.
"Oh no you don't!" Wren began to chase down the fish, and then when it looked as if it was about to turn left, Wren got a head start and jumped off to his left with a strong overhead slash.
Before the fish could stop itself, the Blademaster's Phase Blade had found its way into the body of the Sky Fish, cleaving its left wing off. The fish fell from the sky and hit the ground with a dull thud. As Wren landed nimbly on the ground crouched, he looked up at the fish who was flopping and floundering upon the cool stone floor.
"Time to end this..." Wren walked up to the flopping fish, stepping down on its other wing so that it can't escape. "heh..." Wren smirked as he brought the blade up, keeping the tip pointed downwards at the fish. He then thrust down at the poor creature, stabbing straight into it, and the floor. It was pinned to the ground. With that, it became monochrome and faded into strings of binary data.
"Oh, and don't worry... I don't take many things as seriously as it may seem. You're forgiven... heh." Wren closed his eyes as he pulled the Phase Blade out of the ground and returned it to the scabbard at his left side.
"So, where to now?" he smiled, looking to Adaron once again.
Adaron - June 25, 2003 07:29 AM (GMT)
"I am not sure...well only one way to go I suppose." Adaron raised his right arm, pointing the blade of the lance to the door at the other end of the room. Adaron lowered the lance and began to walk forward, the sound of his feet clapping against the stone floor being the only noise heard for the moment. He then stopped just before he reached the door and looked into the shadows for a moment. He smirked and shook his head continuing on into the doorway. Soon they had both managed to make their way into the next room. The room was a rather small one, a straight path seemed to lead on into yet another door ahead. To both sides of the path against the left and right walls were small pits which lead into complete darkness.
Adaron stopped for a moment and crouched down next to the pit which was positioned against the right wall. "You know...I wonder what these pits lead to. Surely they can't go on forever...then again this IS The World..."he whispers to himself continuing to peer down into the dark pit. He stood up and glanced over at Wren, he then lowered his head and closed his eyes. Before he knew it Adaron was daydrea...
Adaron found himself in the middle of a large open field of grass. The sky above was a beautiful light blue color, above him clouds danced across the sky in their slow rhythmic motions. He smiled and then looked down to see his lance had disappeared. Adaron kneeled down to the ground and looked to the grass, suddenly small flowers began to appear all across the field. Soon Adaron could make out a small plant in the distance. The plant began to grow larger and larger, it then sprouted branches here and there and grew leaves until it become a huge tree. Adaron rushed over to the tree and rested against the large plant, Adaron began to slide down the trunk of the large tree until he was sitting in the grass. The shade of the tree's leaves was calming and felt strangely familiar. Soon a small burgundy book appeared in Adaron's lap, he opened the book and began to flip through the pages. The happy look on his face begins to fade, being replaced by his normal blank stare. Adaron closes the book and the entire area becomes dark and the grass, flowers, book, and the large tree fade from view.
ming...and when he opened his eyes, it had all ended. The pleasant scene had vanished and the Long Arm found himself in the small room of the dungeon once more. Adaron sighed a bit and began to look around the room "This is so small...I wonder if we should just rest for a moment...?" Adaron asks looking up to Wren. The young man begins to run his left hand through his spiked red hair, he then lets his hand rest to his side once more and snickers as his hair bounces back into place. Adaron stretches his wing out a bit, and lets it flap back and fourth for a moment. He snickers feeling the slight breeze his single large wing had managed to create, he then turned his attention to Wren wondering what his companion could be thinking.
Wren - June 25, 2003 08:02 AM (GMT)
His eyes trailed slowly over to the knelt Long Arm and he closed his eyes after looking upon him for a moment. "Sure... let's take a little break. It's been a while, the stairs are just up ahead I think." Wren stopped and walked over to the wall adjacent to the door, and opposite the pit. He then sat down and leaned back against it, pulling his left knee up and letting his right leg bend horizontally infront of his body, his right foot hooking around the heel of his left boot for added balance.
"So..." Wren looked around the room, and then towards the shadowed doorway that would take them to the next room. As he stared into the shadows, he started to think back to his junior high days at Kinogama Private Academy.
The sun was shining through the windows of the westward facing building, the rays from the sun illuminated the whole classroom in a beautiful sunset orange color. The class was filled with 40 students, and then there was a row of empty seats, second to the last row. In the very last row, the far right corner, sat one boy with his arms folded across his chest and his head bowed down slightly so that his bangs would hide his eyes from view.
The teacher was lecturing on Socio-economics and the Government, the other students were avidly asking questions, answering the Teacher's questions, and taking notes. The boy in the back just scoffed, paying only half a mind to what was being said. He'd heard it all before. Government was something familiar to him, almost every subject he had learned this year was previously taught to him by some private tutor or someone else during his vacations.
The bell rang, and the teacher packed his breifcase and left the room. This gave the students a chance to talk and take a break between the classes. Most of them stood up, others took out books or magazines. One was calling her friend in the class below them, and another had a CD player blaring the latest Ayumi CD.
But the boy in the back just sat there, no one paid him any mind, not a single person... except...
Hey...
"Hey... Let's go" Suddenly Wren was shaken from the dream and he looked around a little startled. It had been half an hour, and it was time that the two traveled onwards again. "Oh, sorry..." Wren stood up and dusted his hands off.
When the two entered the next room, they did indeed find the staircase there, draped in shadows. "Here goes nothing!" Wren began to descend the staircase, slowly fading away into the shadows, with Adaron close behind him.
Wren stopped with only four stairs left, he was staring across the wide room that the Blademaster and Long Arm found themselves in. There, in the doorway stood the silhouette of a Wavemaster with his back turned to the room. He waved his hand, then faded off into the shadows of the next room. Right after he left, all the torches in the room began to waver, and a powerful wind broke into the area.
All the torches had blown out, leaving the room in total shadow, there was a deep rumbling thud and the ground shook as the doorway at the far end of the room was blocked by the stone door which closes at the outset of a battle. Then, the familiar sound of a Portal opening was heard by the two warriors.
The bursting light of the opening portal reilluminated the room, torches and all. There before the two stood a Hell Doberman. Something was odd about it though. The flames about the creature were pure white, instead of their orangy-red colour, and its fur wasn't black, but a dirty blonde.
"I think this is that new toy the Wavemaster was talking about..." Wren sighed, drawing forth his Phase Blade reluctantly and very slowly, hoping not to spark an attack in the Doberman.
He whispered over to Adaron, "Perhaps we should split up? You go right, I go left?"
Wren just stood there, his sword ready, waiting for a reply from his companion as the Doberman stood at the center of the room growling at them; its crimson eyes gleaming.
Adaron - June 25, 2003 08:31 AM (GMT)
"Yes...the right" Adaron says dashing off to the right side of the room. He crouched down close to the ground and raised his right arm into the air, he moved his left arm up as well gripping the lance with both hands. The large Hell Doberman began to walk toward Wren slowly. Adaron thought to himself for a moment and then rushed at the large beast. Before actually thinking about what a stupid move he had made Adaron looked to see the large dog lunge forward at him. The Hell Doberman opened its mouth as wide as it could, showing off its large razor sharp teeth. Adaron quickly dashed out of the way and then turned around so that he was now facing the side of the large creature. He took a swipe at the large hound, the blade managed to pierce its side but do little more than scratch the creature. It wasn't long...until the scratch was then gone.
Adaron stepped back and growled a bit looking to the large monster. The large hound looked over to Adaron and growled as the fire around it seemed to grow larger being fed by the beast's anger. Adaron gulped a bit and then took another step forward, he thrusted the lance out at the creature's jaw and watched as the Hell Doberman simply moved itself to the left a bit. In a fit of rage the dog thrusted its head forward at Adaron in attempt to bite down on his left shoulder. The creature was too fast for Adaron and its teeth were soon sinking into the young man's shoulder. His wing stretched out as he screamed in pain from the large dog biting down upon his shoulder.
The Hell Doberman continues to apply pressure to the Long Arm's shoulder. This gives Adaron enough time to bring the lance down at the hound's left eye. Before the creature knew it the blade of the lance had punctured its left eye, causing it to howl out in pain and stumble back a bit. Adaron then looked to see that the large creature's eye began to reform and heal itself. "How pathetic..." Adaron says looking to the Hell Doberman. He shakes his head and then begins to rush to the side of the creature. This causes the large hound to turn to face Adaron, the young man then runs to the other side of the large hound. The Hell Doberman turns around once more and faces Adaron as a loud growl escapes its mouth.
Adaron snickers and thrusts his lance out at the Hell Doberman multiple times, missing on purpose each time he does so. He waves his wing around and sends it flapping forward in the creature's face. The large dog attempts to bite Adaron's wing but doesn't seem fast enough. Adaron then turns around and begins running as fast as he can toward the wall. The Hell Doberman follows the young man barking as it plays Adaron's game of tag, and just before he reached the wall...Adaron ended the game. He dove to the right of the wall and slid across the floor looking up to see the large Doberman try to come to a stop. Due to the creature's size and weight it continued sliding toward the wall, and it wasn't long until a loud crashing noise was heard and the Hell Doberman could be seen stumbling and trying to get up from the impact. Adaron then turned his attention to Wren, hoping his friend had better ideas than the young Long Arm had.
Wren - June 25, 2003 08:52 AM (GMT)
Wren, ignoring his original plan dashed out towards Adaron as the Doberman slammed into the wall. When he came up next to his wounded ally, he rose his hand up and said "Repth!" softly. A white beam of light shone down upon Adaron, and white orbs fluttered down and were absorbed into his body, healing the wound in his shoulder as the light faded, the wound did with it.
"We can't afford to stay wounded in this fight, it seems." Wren said with a smirk, turning his attention to the Doberman who had finally regained itself.
"Lets see how you like my blade!" Wren stood up straight and drew forth his Phase Blade. When the Doberman turned to see the Blademaster, the white flames which had been lulled to near nil suddenly leapt forth, a mighty explosion of power surging through the beast's veins.
Wren dashed blindly at the creature, when it lunged out with its mighty mouth, Wren threw forward his blade, end over end it hurtled through the air until it came into contact with the Doberman's gums, slicing across the mouth and causing the Doberman to yelp in pain for an instant before the wounds healed themselves.
Skidding across the floor, Wren came to a stop to find the Doberman unphased. "Sh-t! We can't even touch it!"
I'm glad you finally realized that, Wren. I do hope you're enjoying my new toy... I hacked it myself. This simple level six creature is now a towering level 100 with unparalleled stats. Your friend was lucky to survive one of its attacks. -- Oh, and if you're thinking that the moderators, or the Knights of War will come to your aid and use the Delta Formation to save you, think again. I've overridden the System Mod's logs, all they see is a level six creature fighting two level three players on the bottom story of a dungeon. So don't count on their aid.
The Wavemaster's voice faded away with malicious neverending laughter. "Curse you..." The Doberman lashed out with one of its paws at Wren. He nearly didn't see it coming, but luckily he rolled out of the way towards his Phase Blade and grabbed it back up.
"Adaron! It looks like our only hope are the System Administrators, we just have to hold out long enough for them to notice this creature, and hopefully they'll inform the Mods!"
There was a loud clanging sound and the Phase Blade was torn from Wren's hands, it flew across the room and crashed into the ground, skidding a good ten extra feet.
"Shimata!" Wren got up and dashed away from the Doberman pathetically, running straight for the wall. It wasn't long before the Doberman caught up and lunged its face down to swallow up Wren. Again, Wren barely dodged a bullet when he hopped into the air, landing on the Doberman's nose. A second later, he flipped off of the creature's nose onto the wall, then pushed off the wall, landing on the Doberman's back. "I'm gonna need your help, Adaron!" Wren screamed out, cupping his hands around his mouth.
The dog flailed around, throwing Wren from its back. His right shoulder collided with the floor, and there was a snapping sound. The shoulder armor that Wren wore snapped in two and came apart from the chest plate. "Dangit... Useless junk." Wren picked up the bowl-shaped shoulder plate and threw it at the Doberman before running over to his Phase Blade.
With his Phase Blade in hand again, Wren dashed at the Doberman. He leapt up into the air as the Doberman lunged its mouth out at him. Wren landed on the beast's face, one foot on the lower jaw the other on the snout, then he thrust the Phase Blade down into the Doberman's tongue, leaving a deep gash there only for an instant before the wound healed up.
The dog snapped its jaws shut, throwing Wren into the air. When he landed on the ground, his left collarbone snapped, and the Doberman's paw slammed down upon his legs, crushing the calves. Wren shrieked out in pain, his body convulging, unable to writhe free from the Doberman's overbearing foot.
"Adaron!!!" Wren cried out between contractions in his chest and stomach.
Adaron - June 25, 2003 10:06 AM (GMT)
Adaron dashed forward to distract the large Doberman from Wren. He thrusted the blade out at the creature's side, the blade pierced the hounds side not doing much harm. Adaron then made a swipe at the side of the Doberman, the blade running across its hide. He then made another opposite swipe at the creature, striking below the first wound. He then dashed forward thrusting the lance forward once more, the blade of the lance punctured the creature's side...and suddenly all of the wounds began to heal. Adaron sighed a bit but looked in relief to see the large creature look over to Adaron.
The large Doberman then dove at Adaron, before it could reach him Adaron leaped into the air avoiding the oncoming attack. The creature slid across the ground as Adaron landed on the ground. The young man turned around thrusting his lance out as the Doberman also came to a stop and turned around dashing forward at the Long Arm once more. Just before the large Hell Doberman came into contact with Adaron he slid out of the way easily avoiding the attack. This cat and mouse game seemed to go on for a couple of minutes, both of them were becoming tired and it was then that Adaron used this to his advantage. Just as the large Doberman was charging at him, Adaron simply ducked. The creature ran right past him as Adaron snickered in a crouched position. He then stood up to see the large creature stop in its tracks once more
...
This can't continue...sooner or later one of us is going to become tired. I have a feeling that I will give out before this stupid thing does. I am beggining to wonder if all of this is really worth finding out the truth about what has been going on in The World. Wren did save my life a few times though...I owe him enough to return the favor now. But this stupid dog seems to want to destroy both of us, I have to make sure Wren makes it out alive. I will have to get its attention though, I don't want the stupid mutt ripping Wren apart. Then again I would also like to leave this dungeon in one piece...come on Adaron think...
...
The Hell Doberman began to walk over to Adaron, the young Long Arm took this opportunity to call out "Repth!" and in that instant orbs of light began to fall from the sky around Wren. The orbs faded into his body and the ground around him and soon a white aura was covering his body. His wounds began to heal, but not completely. Adaron then began to rush forward, shouting once more "REPTH!" and no sooner had he shouted this than more orbs of light rained down upon Wren, fading into his body and causing the aura to become even brighter. Soon his wounds were completely healed, the young Long Arm then dashed to the right causing the creature to come to a stop only to slide toward one of the walls once more.
Adaron snickered to himself and watched as the Doberman slammed into the wall. The creature began to growl, it then stood up and began rushing at full speed toward Adaron. Adaron began to stumble back and looked in horror to see the large beast grow closer to him. Just before the large Doberman reached Adaron it began to become distorted. Its entire body began to twitch, fading in and out of view. Soon the entire creature had vanished, leaving only Wren and Adaron in the room of the dungeon. Suddenly the entire room began to become distorted as a loud and strange sound filled the entire dungeon. It was as if the entire field itself would soon fade from The World. The sound was gone, and then could be heard once more as the area became even more blurred and twisted. "WHAT'S GOING ON?!" Adaron shouts in confusion, he stumbles around trying to figure out what to do in. In a fit of panic Adaron begins to slice into the air with his lance "Pathetic useless Wavemaster! Show your cowardly face!!!" he calls out continuing his battle with the air he breathes...
Wren - June 25, 2003 10:33 AM (GMT)
Wren sighed in relief to see his legs not flattened into the shape of dog paws any longer. When he stood up slowly, looking over at Adaron preparing to engage the Doberman hopelessly once again, the beast began to fade away, then it's body became a white silouette and stretched vertically like a rubberband. Then it vanished in a flash.
Shortly after, the entire room began to become distorted and the sound of static filled the air. Horizontal video-noise and 'television' snow shifted in and out quickly on the walls and floor and ceiling, and every so often the colors of the area would become inverted in quick intervals.
The Knights of War... How did they know?! --- Da--it! System Administrators! The Knights of War are locking down this area, I have to log out! ... You got lucky again Wren! But I assure you, next time we meet, I will finish you myself!
Wren looked to Adaron with shock, "They're locking the area down!?! What if they catch us here?! They'll think we're the hackers!"
Wren dashed over to Adaron, pulling the Sprite Ocarina from his tunic. "We have to get out of this place, fast!" Using the Sprite Ocarina, Wren and Adaron were engulfed in six gold rings which teleported them back to the first room in the dungeon, the stairs that lead out were right before them.
"Lets go!" Wren and Adaron dashed up the stairs and out into the fridgid wasteland of the field. "I'll meet you in Ma--" the audio was distorted and static was the only sound audible. Soon the whole area's colors were permanently inverted, and the area started to flicker and stretch in every direction.
At the last second Wren and Adaron Gated Out of the field back to Mac Anu.
**********
The two returned to the Chaos Gate at Mac Anu, shocked to find the whole place swarming with Knights of War, at least twice as many as there had been when they left.
One of the Knights approaches them with a warning:
By order of Kamui, Aqua Capital Mac Anu is under Marshal Law. Use of the Chaos Gate is restricted to logging in or logging out unless direct permission is given by Kamui or Reki themselves. Please vacate the premicise incase the hacker logs in, we don't want innocent Players to be injured.
Wren and Adaron descend the stairs to find the Record NPC silent, which was also odd. There were maybe seven other users in the city, and all the other users were Knights of War. "This is awful... That da-n Wavemaster."
Wren flung his back against the railing of the bridge he'd been resting on before they left on their journey. "It's all his fault. If he hadn't have brought up that Hell Doberman, they wouldn't have put this server under KoW control..."
With a sigh, Wren closes his eyes and thinks to himself for a few minutes... After some time has past, he blurts out, "So... what do you want to do now?" to Adaron, without opening his eyes or moving his head.
Adaron - June 25, 2003 04:10 PM (GMT)
"What do I want to do...? We are in Mac Anu which is now covered in Knights of War. I want to stay as far from view as possible, you think it's safe for me to be walking around in front of them? I am trying to think of a good lie to throw the fools off as it is." Adaron says looking up to Wren and then to all of the Knights surrounding them. "I don't know how...but we need to get through the Chaos Gate. Getting out of Mac Anu is the only way out of this. I would have no problem with that...you on the other hand, well you are restricted from doing so...which I understand. Either way...send me a Flash Mail when you are ready to head off somewhere. Or perhaps you would rather rest here at the bridge and talk...Max?" Adaron asks looking over to Wren with a slight grin on his face.
"The more I know, or come to know...it only fuels my curiosity. Curiosity killed the cat right? Must have been a black cat if you ask me...either way...I hate being in an area filled with Knights of War. It feels like they all have their eyes on me, as they should." Adaron says bringing his lance up onto his right shoulder. He begins to walk back and fourth across the bridge, looking around to the root town they find themselves in. The Long Arm begins to question their decision of leaving the dungeon, perhaps it would have been more of a haven...? Adaron snickers a bit with this thought and then turns his attention to on of the Knights of War, the Knight stops for a moment and then continues on walking to one of his companions.
Adaron began to think back on the many secrets he heard other players deliver to one another. He tried to think back on all of the information he had gathered on all of the beings that were beginning to appear all over The World. Gossip it seems was a very popular thing in The World, and Adaron welcomed the foolish lies of others with open arms. He then let his mind wander onto certain people he had met...
...
"What a fool..." Adaron says to himself sighing and shaking his head as he continued to follow the group. It wasn't long before Asura had managed to run face first into yet another magical portal. "HOW...?! HOW?! No...WHY would anyone choose such an...such a clutz?!" he whispers to himself, not allowing Acid or Wren to hear the curses he was now muttering to himself. He turned his attention to Wren...
...
As the Hell Doberman began to attack Wren, thoughts continued to flow through Adaron's mind. "He is strong...determined, this goes beyond what my eyes can see. Wren what are you hiding from the rest of The World...?" Adaron thinks to himself, watching as his companion is attack relentlessly by the large canine.
...
Adaron shakes his head laughing a bit as he pulls himself from his thoughts and recollections of past events. He then looked to the last remaining players left in Mac Anu, and then to the Knights of War which stormed the root town. Now though he didn't care, none of this mattered as long as he got what he was looking for. There were so many questions, and Adaron desired answers more than anything else. Nothing would please the young man more than having what he desired, and it seemed as though his new "friends" could possibly provide what he wanted. Then again why be so quick to judge? Perhaps they were good people, perhaps they had a reason for taking such actions. Perhaps was not a very popular word in Adaron's vocabulary greed, betrayal, hurt, pain, humiliation, and many other words however were put to good use by Adaron. His trust in his comrades grew thinner by the moment, why would they hide so much from themselves and others? It wasn't as if Adaron was any different though, however...they were more important and it wasn't himself he wanted to know it was his new group of friends.
His patience with the situation and his comrades was growing thin. With each moment Adaron became more and more angry and filled with mixed emotions of wanting to believe and also trying to forget at the same time. What could he do to solve any of this? Nothing. Absolutely nothing. "I need to stop being so dramatic...what an idiot." Adaron says out loud forgetting he is in the presence of Wren. "Sorry, I just dove into my own little world for a moment there, I hope you don't mind. Anyway I still say we need to get far away from Mac Anu and as soon as possible." Adaron adds looking over to Wren and awaiting a reply from his companion.
Wren - June 25, 2003 06:30 PM (GMT)
"Well... maybe not away from Mac Anu, because 'we' cannot do that, you could though. But there is a spot that we could go. I doubt the Knights of War would be there. I was there resting before --- before the Knights of War came around... Infact, come to think of it. I was there before I got that Flash Mail from nowhere." Wren took a standing posture and shrugged with a smile, he then began to walk to the far side of the bridge, furthest from the Chaos Gate. When his feet touched down onto the stone pathways of Mac Anu, he stopped and turned towards Adaron, "Follow me, if you like." He then continued walking, and he began to talk to himself out loud hoping his friend had decided to follow.
"I didn't notice it until just now, but you called me Max... Where you heard that, I don't--" Suddenly a not-so-distant memory flashed into Wren's thoughts.
Oh, and Max... This time I will win, you shant be so lucky a third time.
"... He called me Max, didn't he? That's peculiar. The fact of the matter is, my name is Richard Maxwell... But I don't care much for the nickname that comes from the name 'Richard', so I have people call me Max. The people who call me that aren't necessarily my friends, the one 'friend' I have in Real Life calls me Rich. So I guess I do know this Wavemaster... maybe." By this time Wren had reached the mouth of the little alleyway that he had been in just a few days before. It looked exactly the same as it had that day.
When Wren began to walk down the path, a memory came to his eye. He saw himself standing there against the little bridge railing, a spectre of what has past. Then a little ball rolled into his boot. Wren smiled, and the memory faded away.
"This time I will win, you shant be so lucky a third time..." Wren repeated slowly, thinking to himself, but spitting out little mutterings under his breath as he contemplates the phrase. He was now seated in the wide space between two buildings, out of the sight of the Knights of War.
"It is all so strange... I don't understand why he's doing this, whoever he is." Wren says with an exhasperated sigh.
Adaron - June 25, 2003 09:35 PM (GMT)
Adaron began to approach Wren, snickering to himself and satisfied that at last his mouth had managed to get him some information. Adaron stopped a few feet away from Wren and stood there, looking up to the sky and listening to the young man. The cruel and all too enigmatic Long Arm began to think to himself, wondering if perhaps this time he had gone too far. "Hmmm...well what is left to do? Should we simply stand around Mac Anu waiting for them to leave?" Adaron asks looking from the sky over to Wren. Perhaps I did go too far...either way I managed to get a little more info right...? The Long Arm thrusted his lance onto his right shoulder and began to walk back and fourth across the alley. He began to bounce the lance up and down on his shoulder and then stopped watching a player pass through the streets.
The young man began to consider using his abilities to get himself out of this situation, but he didn't want to just leave Wren behind. If the Knights of War found him they would have no mercy, and most likely Adaron would be restricted from The World in some way or another. Maybe I shouldn't have transformed so soon, that was a rather stupid move. I couldn't stand it though I was eventually going to be revealed one way or another, it was just a matter of time. Adaron continued to think to himself while tapping the lance on his shoulder. With all of this new information that the young man managed to gather, and in a rather rude manner...he began to try to put the pieces of the puzzle together.
SPIDER...a creature which has proved to raise even more questions about The World. Two hackers emerging and now out in the open like this, I wonder why so many different beings are making themselves known at this time. They all have to be connected in some way or another. There is just no way they all just seemed to pop out of no where all around the same time. It doesn't take a complete idiot to figure out that there is something which our eyes cannot see, but our minds know deep down inside something is there. Things are about to get very bad in The World...we will soon see who is able to make it and who will simply fall victim to their own foolish mistakes. I am not sure which category I will fall into, or perhaps I should simply avoid such silly battles. After all I am an innocent bystander right?
Adaron snickers to himself, shaking his head and resting against the wall of a building. Why am I so difficult...? Well, why not be difficult? What I want I will eventually get...The World is no exception. I am waiting for the right time to simply fade from the scene and go somewhere alone. After I have all of the information all I will need to do is put all of it together. I should stick by this young man's side...after all he has been kind to me, and as trustworthy as someone can be. So...yes I should stick with this for the time being. Who knows...this might just end as quickly as it began.
Wren - June 26, 2003 05:40 AM (GMT)
Will it ever end? It seems like it has been forever... I wish we could just piece it all together. I wan't to know. I must know. It seems so familiar, everything... I must know who he is. Just think! Think!! ... There are so many... I wish I could just get control of the situation, somehow... make things easier. This is too much for me, I can't take it...
Wren clenched his hands into fists and slammed them down like mallets into the foundation of the building he's leaning against. "Who ARE You!?" he screamed up at the sky, almost seeming insane.
Calm down... breath. Just get up. Go somewhere. Maybe being out among the Knights and the few other players and NPCs will make you feel better? Collect your thoughts... If you dwell on it you're going to continue to go crazy. --- Actually. Why worry about it? Adaron seems to be interested in the questions. Let him deal with those. You just focus on what YOU have to do in order to beat this guy. Things are bound to snap into place... kinda like a jigsaw puzzle... Though... you've never been good at those. Heh.
Wren sighed, looking around the alleyway, its long dark shadows made it seem like the little twenty foot deep alleyway ran on forever into its own little corner of The World. His eyes lifted themselves to the sky, staring up at the setting sun, still peeking slightly over the rooftops.
"I'm going to go pick up some items... You want anything?" Wren stood up and dusted himself off, looking towards Adaron.
Adaron - June 27, 2003 02:30 AM (GMT)
Adaron looks up for a moment turning his attention from his own thoughts and daydreaming to Wren. "I suppose I could use a few Health Drinks, I am fairly sure I will be needing them soon. So yes...I do need to pick up a few items." Adaron says and begins to walk out into Mac Anu. He is a bit cautious and sort of worried, he hoped that the Knights of War would be so focused on the hacker they wouldn't notice him. For the moment it seemed as though his wish had come true. The Knights seemed to be focused on finding the hacker and protecting Mac Anu. This allowed the young man to calm down and walk around without worrying about being questioned.
Adaron walked over to the bridge and rested his hands on the railing, he stared down into the water which was sparkling from the rays of the sun above him. The water began to flow more and more, soon the tip of a boat could be seen emergin from underneath the large bridge. The boat made its way out of the shadows of the bridge and continued on toward one of the small item shops. It stopped at the item shop allowing the Knights who were in the boat to step down from the boat onto the ground of the root town. They looked around for a moment and then split up going their seperate ways.
Adaron shook his head for a moment and looked up to the sky. The clouds were beggining to leave the scene, soon only a few were left dancing across the sky. Adaron snickered as he looked up to see the cloud which was shaped like a grunty that he had seen on on of his earlier quests. The cloud began to break away from itself, causing what appeared to be the tail of the grunty seperating from the rest of it's body.
"This is so sad, there are so many of them after one single target. You would think that they could make it an even battle, I suppose they think just sitting around in Mac Anu will lead them to the Wavemaster. It isn't as if he is just going to step right in front of them and allow them to take him away. This entire situation could be avoided though...really it could. How sad..." Adaron says looking down to the water once more before turning his attention to Wren wondering what his companion was planning at the moment.
Wren - June 27, 2003 03:09 AM (GMT)
Wren had stopped at the foot of the staircase that lead down to the Item shop, and looked up at Adaron before descending.
I wonder what will happen if they see him... Will they care? I mean. A simple character change is far less important than this hacker that's roaming around. But who knows.
He shrugged and started down the staircase, a gust of wind blowing back against him, pushing his hair away from his forehead and causing him to squint a bit as he descended the staircase, quiet footstep after quiet footstep. When he reached the bottom, he saw a boat coming up towards the item shop on his left. "Whos... Knights!"
Wren had turned to try and get Adaron's attention, but he couldn't be seen so far to the side, and he noticed that Adaron was staring straight down at the knights who had gotten off the boat. Wren quickly turned back towards the Knights, who were now splitting up, and he walked past one of them, how had begun to ascend the staircase.
After worrying about Adaron for a moment more, Wren walked up to the Item counter, it seemed like the NPC wasn't responding. "What's wrong with it?" Wren thought out loud.
Nothing is wrong with me, What's wrong with you? Calm down. I saw you.
I wonder if the system problems are causing the NPCs to act up... ? Or were they always this moody?
Wren pointed out the items that he had wanted, and placed a small dosage of GP on the counter, then walked away. slowly, pocketing the tiny vials that he had purchased, save for the few that Adaron had given him money for.
Upon arriving on the bridge with Adaron, he handed him the Health Drinks that had been requested and paid for. (OOC: If you want 'em, you'll probably want to actually go and buy them at the Magickery - otherwise I'll just assume that they weren't really bought, like mine. )
"Here's your stuff... I'm not so sure about all these Knights. I mean... What's the point if they're all sitting in town? Shouldn't they be out scourging areas looking for the hacker? -- Not that they could really catch him if they tried, I think. But still, its the principle..." After standing there a moment, Wren thought about what he had said.
"Oh god... I'm sounding like my parents. Eugh. Sorry... Just foreget I said anything" He smiled, slighlty embarassed at acting so old. "Anyway, I wonder if anything happened to the Gott Statue in that last area, like what had been done to the one that we saw earlier. That's one thing I can't figure out. What is he doing to those Gotts, and what for? They're just statues... Aren't they?"
Wren looked up at the sky with its perpetually setting sun, a few clouds idly swimming across the orange-red canvas spread out above them.
Adaron - June 27, 2003 03:36 AM (GMT)
Adaron looks up for a moment and searches back and fourth across Mac Anu. "You are right though. I am surprised they haven’t said anything to us yet. I personally cannot stand the Knights of War, that's just me though." Adaron says blinking a bit and turning his attention to the sky once more. The sun was beginning to set, and the water changed its color becoming a more orangish red tone. Adaron closed his eyes and began to daydream as he usually did when there was nothing left to do.
...
The sky was a brilliant blue, all around were clouds, nothing but clouds. Through the clouds large stone structures seemed to raise from the heavens, looking down upon the landscape below them. Adaron looked to find himself standing on the very tip of a large stone pillar, below him he could make out the details of a small desert. The wind began to blow violently causing his lance to fly from his grasp and be carried away in the current. Adaron raised his left eyebrow and then turned his attention to one of the clouds below him. A large figure burst from the cloud, seeming to dive from cloud to cloud until it had vanished.
The young Long Arm wasn't quite sure what the creature was...he did know whatever it was it was huge. Suddenly the clouds became dark, the sky was now crimson. The clouds slowly formed into poisonous clouds of gas which began to lift up into the air all around Adaron. A powerful gust of wind sent him flying off of the tip of the stone pillar. He began to fall towards the desert floor at an amazing speed. His red spiked hair waved violently in the air as his wing was beginning to fold against his side. He seemed to be in a dive toward the ground, suddenly waves of light began to surround him.
...
Adaron looked up with a strange look on his face and stood back looking to the sky. He shook his head wondering what could have made him think of such a strange and dangerous circumstance. He stood there...silent, waiting for the Knights to clear the area so that they could continue their journey to find the Wavemaster. Adaron was beginning to grow more tired by the moment, but something told him he had to stick around. Something just wasn't right about Mac Anu in general today...
Wren - June 27, 2003 03:52 AM (GMT)
His eyes were fixed upon Adaron. Wren was wondering what he could be thinking. He seemed to do that a lot... zone out. With a sigh Wren walked over to the far railing and leaned against it, his back to the setting sun. The boat which was once empty was now occupied by three Knights and what they must have thought to be a hacker.
"What do they think they're doing...?" Wren shook his head sorrowfully, letting his neck go limp so his head would hang free, the chin against his chest. He heard the hollow thud of footsteps coming quickly across the bridge. He lifted his head and slid his arm towards his sword slowly. When his eyes met with he who was passing, Wren found it to just be a player. Apparantly the friend of the one who had been carried off.
"They're taking him away! Can they do that!? I mean... All he did was put Revolver and Crack Beat together on a Basic Blade! They're overreacting!" the Twin Blade, who was obviously new, continued to complain, but Wren didn't pay him much attention.
"Listen, they're the Knights of War. They take orders from the System Administrators. That and there's a major hacker roaming about. Your friend should have kept his sword hidden until they had left. He could have bought another Baisc Blade at the Pawn Shop for cheap. Now, if you don't mind, I'm a little preoccupied right now." Wren glanced at the Twin Blade out of the corner of his eye.
"S--Sorry..." The Twin Blade continued slowly across the bridge until he came to the other side, then he made a right turn down the stairs to the Elven Storage.
When Wren realized that Adaron was done with his daydream, he turned back to the Long Arm. "I don't know about you, but I'm heading back down to the alleyway, I only came out to get items. And I don't feel like being hassled by the Knights right now, either."
He started across the bridge until he came to the stairs, then he made a right turn down the far staircase, opposite the Item store. His boots clodding softly against the stone pathway until he came to the alley. Wren turned his head and made sure no Knights were looking, especially those near the Chaos Gate, then he stalked down into the shadows of the alley. Once he had made it about halfway down the alley, he slipped to the left into the little niche where he had been seated earlier, and Wren proceeded to crouch down there again in thought.
Adaron - June 27, 2003 10:23 AM (GMT)
Three golden rings of light appeared beside Wren. The golden rings began to fall to the ground fading and leaving a bright aura of yellow light which filled the small area. Adaron stepped from the golden light looking down to Wren. "I understand the need to stay hidden from the Knights."Adaron says laughing a bit as he leans against one of the walls. It was getting late and there was really nothing to do now but daydream...
...
Mac Anu was beautiful, rays from the sun began to shine down upon the root town causing the entire area to become bathed in light. Large crowds of people passed through the town, people were talking back and fourth to one another. Adaron began to walk through the crowd, making note of anything strange about the area. Adaron took another step forward and began to sink into the ground. Before he could begin to panic all of the people began to scream, fading into data as a loud static like sound filled the area.
Adaron began to sink further into the ground until he completely fell through. He was now floating in what appeared to be a large church. He slowly floated to the ground, his wing and halo glowing a brilliant cream color. Adaron looked around to see the church was completely empty, the scene suddenly changed into a large jungle like area causing Adaron to be thrown into a new realm. Adaron stumbles back now completely confused and knowing that this is more than a regular daydream. The young Long Arm begins to prepare himself for something other than another trip into a strange area. Just as he begins to turn around the entire scene becomes black. Nothing but darkness around Adaron...he appears to be...stuck in the middle of no where.
...
"How odd..." Adaron says lifting his head. His daydreams became more and more common here in Mac Anu. And as the number of daydreams increased so did the enigmatic and strange elements of the dreams. The young man was totally confused...and there really were no apparent reasons for him to have such odd dreams. Adaron leans back against the wall and sighs a bit. He began to wonder what could cause him to have such strange dreams. He was a person to let his mind wander...but this was a bit strange. Never had he indulged himself in such strange dreams...or perhaps they were nightmares in disguise? Either way he knew something wasn't right, now however he began to remember the situation he was in. Was using my teleportation in Mac Anu such a smart move...? Well......I suppose they wouldn't be alarmed if I did use it...or find me for that matter. Wren seems quiet...I wonder what he is thinking...
