Title: Intraclan Duels
Aeneas - May 10, 2004 06:10 AM (GMT)
Rules and Regulations
On June 1, the duel brackets will be posted. Placement will be mostly random, with only minor adjustments made regarding player levels. Once the tiers are set up, you are in the duels and your opponent will not be changed. Also, on June 1 the duels themselves will begin. The rules of the duels themselves will be the same as any normal duel in the dueling center. This includes the 5 day time penalties, SP bar penalties, and all other regulations as set forth by CC Corp. If someone goes for 15 consecutive days without posting, then their opponent will win by default.
The order of the posters will be set forth for each duel at the beginning in a specially designated thread. No one is to post in that thread outside of the organizer (me). If there are any questions or comments, do NOT post them there. Send me a PM instead.
You will get ten posts each to finish your duel. If it remains unfinished after each contestant has posted ten times, then they will be graded on their efforts up to that point. That's ten per contestant, for a total of twenty per duel.
There are no restrictions on items or skills. The field will also be randomly selected for the contestants. You may not change the field, even if you and your opponent both agree to change the field. Doing so will result in disqualification. And shame. Lots and lots of shame.
If you finish a duel before your next scheduled opponent does, then you may go out and purchase items and equipment before your next fight. To keep things fair, there will be a three day period between rounds to allow everyone to upgrade their inventory.
Judging will be handled by the regular duel judges. Their decisions are final, and no amount of whining will change the results.
The winner of the event will receive a super secret item from Kiwi! In addition, their banner will be modified to include the word Champion. Besides, you'll definately get all of the ladies in the Swordbreakers! ^_^;
Finally, remember that this is being done for two reasons. First and foremost, its a bonding effort. I don't know about any of you, but I've fought with all of my best friends at one point or another. Secondly, the purpose of this event is to improve the quality of our duels. That means when the rounds are finished, the other members get to use some constructive criticism on you. I mean general concepts, not grammar and spelling nit-picking.
FXOmniCrest - May 10, 2004 07:33 PM (GMT)
I think I would, but I only post well on my good days. You know, like my last post in my current quest, if you can find it...
Anyways, who are the semi-low level people (levels 4-8) in the other clans? I think that I could duel people... But by interclan dueling you mean tourny duels (well, not really tournies, just duels that count for something more than a regular duel, because anyways you can duel a random person from another clan without knowing it), right?
Aeneas - May 10, 2004 08:43 PM (GMT)
No, by intraclan duels I mean that we duel each other.
Savior X - May 10, 2004 10:00 PM (GMT)
lugiablaster - May 10, 2004 10:42 PM (GMT)
I'll duel. One of mine current ones is finished, and Retn had to quit... Why oh why must my duel record look so pitiful? Four wins that don't mean anything...
Crimson - May 11, 2004 12:02 AM (GMT)
FXOmniCrest - May 11, 2004 12:27 AM (GMT)
Okay, but this is confusing me, and I think Aenas as well.
Inter=between to different objects
Intra=within oneself
I would think you mean intraclan duelings?
Just to clarify. Like always, I don't want to offend anyone :)
KamiKazeKiwi3 - May 11, 2004 12:52 AM (GMT)
He means that the players within the clan duel each other for the sake of practice and possibly some prize that could be offered, in the form of a tournament ladder. Considering my level, I don't think I could fit into this with the rest of you guys. I am capable of possibly providing a prize for the tournament, though. An unknown prize that would fit whoever wins. I could also try to duel you all at the same time in different threads, for the sake of giving you practice. To be honest, I am not one for dueling often. I only duel when I have a moral stake, dislike, or rivalry with a person.
FXOmniCrest - May 11, 2004 01:04 AM (GMT)
???
As in you have had some very harsh rivalries in which you kicked the other person's little *** to the next year? Or just you have had rivalries?
Anyways... I wanna enter, this time, more seriously. I think I saved up enough money to buy some new equipment after my quest...
Aeneas - May 11, 2004 03:12 AM (GMT)
The topic reads "intra", as in within the clan. Not with any other clans.
lugiablaster - May 12, 2004 12:58 AM (GMT)
Just out of curiosity, but when does this start?
Aeneas - May 12, 2004 03:09 AM (GMT)
Dunno, depends on when a decent number of people volunteer.
kijusho - May 19, 2004 03:30 AM (GMT)
I'm game. I don't care whether I win or lose as long as my level increases. Besides, I'm in desperate need of excitement in my early life. Just tell me when the tourney will begin.

I'm pretty sure that in duels, you don't gain levels, but what do I know?
kijusho - May 19, 2004 05:07 AM (GMT)
Oh well, at least I'll still be having some excitement.
KamiKazeKiwi3 - May 19, 2004 06:18 AM (GMT)
Not so exactly... You see, I will now begin accepting sign-ups for the Swordbreakers Intraclan Tournament. Aeneas has been assigned to manage the responsibility of arranging and determining how this event runs its course. Be sure, however, that I will provide the winner with a suitable reward to make the effort worthwhile. We should also be stocking our Armoury so that the fighters might be capable of choosing from a wide selection of skills in equipment.
lugiablaster - May 19, 2004 06:23 AM (GMT)
Like i said before: *ahem* I will join the dueling thing. Why? That really isn't a concern, but if you want to know, it's because I want at least one decent duel up my belt. In simplton's words, I'm in.
Savior X - May 19, 2004 04:54 PM (GMT)
Count me in too. The duel I am currently in with Yoku is sucking a** because he is only posting once every four days, and he is on vacation now, so it might just get canceled. Anyways, I definenatly want to be in this.
FXOmniCrest - May 19, 2004 08:13 PM (GMT)
Well, I already was in, but that wasn't officially a registration, so, Sign Me Up!
Aeneas - May 19, 2004 09:09 PM (GMT)
Okay, I've got a rough idea of how I'm going to handle everything. I just need to do some organizing this weekend, and it should all be set up. I'm considering to set the first round date on the first of next month. That gives our armorist some time to stock up our armory and all of the participants to gain some levels.
lugiablaster - May 19, 2004 09:24 PM (GMT)
Then I shall have to drop out... One Summer hits, I'll be gone... Sorry :( I'll post it in the Vacation part later...
kijusho - May 20, 2004 02:09 AM (GMT)
Waiting for a month is OK for me. I'm still in, right?
Savior X - May 20, 2004 02:33 AM (GMT)
Well, I'll wait a month if that is how long it will be. Aeneas, if you want, I can give you a hand with doing the Intraclan duel. I could even maybe get it starting earlier too.
Aeneas - May 21, 2004 02:23 PM (GMT)
Current Signups:
Aeneas
FireX
SaviorX
Crimson
Anubis
Akane Lockheart

Aeneas - May 21, 2004 03:37 PM (GMT)
It's not going to be a whole month, btw, it's going to be 12 days.
Akane Lockheart - May 21, 2004 10:46 PM (GMT)
Hmm.... intriguing. Sounds interesting. Sign me up please!
kijusho - May 26, 2004 02:22 AM (GMT)
They said that there was going to be a Betting System. Anyone up for it?
I'd like to but my level is shouting in great defiance.
lugiablaster - May 26, 2004 02:25 AM (GMT)
A betting system has been set up in a different topic, and I think it's a good idea. Betting's fun until you lose everything you have ^_^
What do you mean about your level?
kijusho - May 28, 2004 10:01 AM (GMT)
I'm still at a low level so defeat has a 85% chance of happening. I wouldn't want to bet when the chances of winning are very low. I'll just end up running for my life and, possibly, my cash. I'd love to though.

Duels are graded by quality and fairness and other stuff, not level. A level 8 could beat a level 25 if he tried hard enough. Just like what I'm doing, but yeah <_<

What Lugia says is very true because like he said of a level 8 going against a level 25, I am doing a level 4 against a level 25 + dueling lugia also. ^_^ If you haven't figured out yet, the level 25 is Kiwi. :P Anyways, back on topic with the intraclan duel. Because of Lugia's absence during the summer, I suspect that we will either have to do 1 of 2 things. 1) We have the duels judged normally like any other duel by the official duel judges. 2) We have a group of experienced members judge the duels. That team of experienced members will be formed and thought of by myself, Kiwi, Lugia, and Aeneas, should he be able to get on. So, all of you participating in the duel, level yourselfs up, get some good weapons/armor, and maybe do a duel or two before the Intraclan Duel to get you more accuented with dueling.
Aeneas - May 28, 2004 04:35 PM (GMT)
Everyone check the first post in this thread to see the rules and regulations. Any questions or comments can be posted here or sent via PM.
lugiablaster - May 28, 2004 05:11 PM (GMT)
Well this be in the Swordbreakers clan area or the duel area?
Aeneas - May 28, 2004 05:29 PM (GMT)
I believe I explicitly stated in the rules that we will be using the duel servers.

Well, yeah. But I have a high chance of dying before I can ever make a good grade so I'll stick with the "running for my life" routine. ^_^
Aeneas - June 1, 2004 03:31 AM (GMT)
Unless Slicer can participate, the duels are temporarily postponed.

Why? Don't worry about me, I'll just beat everyone of you when I come back
But on a serious note, you can go without me. Besides, I'll probably do some horrible posts when I come back, so it might take a few weeks for me to get the english language flowing again or something, and I don't want to drag everyone down.
kijusho - June 1, 2004 07:32 AM (GMT)
You said it starts after a month and a month has passed! Let's rock...
But I guess nobody's game yet. :(
Aeneas - June 1, 2004 12:01 PM (GMT)
The problem is that there are only seven contestants, and eight are necessary to make sure no one jumps rounds unfairly.
