Title: Complete Keyword Guide

Ichida - April 30, 2004 01:27 AM (GMT)
Twilight Strategist Ichida's Keyword Guide
Imported from the .hack//QUARANTINE Official Strategy Guide

This guide will help you accurately combine keywords to your tactical advantage. It will also help someone who wants to use a particular keyword but may not have the game you acquire it in.

Guide Explanation
Keyword Color: (This does not affect anything, but for those who want to know)
//INFECTION Keyword
//MUTATION Keyword
//OUTBREAK Keyword
//QUARANTINE Keyword

Letter - Each Keyword has a letter. This is the Keyword's priority.
Priorities: A>B>C>D>E>F>G>H>I>J>K>L>M>N>O>P>Q>R
For example, The keyword Bursting has Priority D. That means that if Bursting is combined with other keywords in which both have the same parameter(s), the keyword with the higher priority letter will be the one to influence that parameter. The only parameter that is the exception is Area Level. When two or more keywords which influence area level are combined, add up their "+ Level" numbers to get the level of the area.
Example: Bursting Wind Sand's Altar
Bursting
(D, +1 Level, Average Buildings)
Wind Sand's (N, Desert 1, Cloudy, Many Buildings, +6 Monsters)
Altar (O, +1 Size, Storm, Night, +1 Level, +10 Items)
Both the Bursting and the Wind Sand's keywords cover the Buildings parameter. But, since Bursting has priority D and Wind Sand's has priority N, Bursting takes over the Buildings parameter. Also, both Wind Sand's and Altar cover the Setting, so Wind Sand's takes priority, and the field becomes Cloudy. If one keyword covers a parameter that no other keyword covers, then that keyword automatically will influence that parameter.

Server Standards: (To find the level of an area, add the "+ Level" numbers in the keywords to the level indicated for the server it's in.)
Δ (Delta): 1
Θ (Theta): 15
Λ (Lambda): 30
Σ (Sigma): 50
Ω (Omega): 70

Field Types
Grassland: A prairie field. Water Element (Thunder Element w/ Storm) (Spring of Myst)
Forest: A dungeon-shaped deep forest. Water Element. (Thunder Element w/ Blizzard)
Snowfield 1/2: A winter snow field. Water Element.
Wasteland: A barren field of wilderness. Earth Element. (Spring of Myst)
Earth: Rocky terrain. Darkness Element. (Thunder Element w/ Storm) (Spring of Myst)
Leaf Mold: A variation of Grassland, with varying colors on the prairie. Water Element. (Thunder Element w/ Blizzard) (Spring of Myst)
Scorching 1/2: A field scaped with firey rocks. Fire Element.
Desert 1/2: A dry desert. Fire Element. (Spring of Myst)

Dungeon Types:
Stonewall: Made of stones, with patterns of a different color.
Castle: A fancy castle, with a long, red rug stretching across the center pathways.
Cave: The innards of a cave.
Meatwall: The innards of a living body. Some of the walls pulsate like organs.

Setting = Both the weather effect and time of day fall into this category. Affected by priorities. If a keyword with a higher priority has no weather effect while a lower priority keyword does, there will be no weather effect. If no time of day is listed, it will be a Daytime/"Noon" field.
+# Level = Add up these numbers in addition to the default level of the server to get the Area Level. Some areas differ in the game because they are event-related.
Buildings = The approximate amount of buildings on the field.
Hills = Flat means there are no hills, or very small ones. Hills means there are regular, roundish hills. Steep Hills means... well... steep hills!
+# Size = Refers to the dungeon. Controls number of floors/rooms. If the keyword does not have a Dungeon parameter, the dungeon has three floors. If the Size value is 6-7, the dungeon has four floors. If the Size value is 8-10, the dungeon will have five floors. There are event-related exceptions, and priorities are factored here.
+/-# Items = Does not measure how many items are here; determines average value of items found here. Priorities are factored here. If no Items parameter is covered, value of items will be at an average level.
+/-# Monsters = Does not measure # of monsters; determines number of monster TYPES found in the area. For example, a negative number means the same kind of monster will appear more often; a positive number means that there are many different kinds of monsters in that area. Priorities are factored here. If this parameter is not covered, monster types will appear in moderation.
Portals = Approximate range of # of portals in the area. If this parameter is not covered, it will most likely fall under the range of Average Portals.

Somebody...pin...this...

Ichida - April 30, 2004 01:47 AM (GMT)
FYI, writing this took me five and a half hours straight. :P

Xenosaga - April 30, 2004 02:05 AM (GMT)
Ichida is a total genius for doing this. And yes, what Slicer is trieng to say is, please, someone pin this topic, cause it is of great importance.

What I really ment was: Some Mod, please pin this. It will be very useful to all of Divergence. Besides, it'll look impressive :P

Ichida - April 30, 2004 02:13 AM (GMT)
Well, mods and admins are the only ones who can pin topics, matter of fact.

Yuki Sato - April 30, 2004 02:27 AM (GMT)
Wow! Ichida should get some reward for doing all this!

GOOD JOB ICHIDA!

Good thing this got posted ^^

Ichida - April 30, 2004 02:34 AM (GMT)
Looks like it's pinned now. Cool. Glad to know my many gestures of assistance are appreciated. ^-^

Ichida - April 30, 2004 08:00 PM (GMT)
Just a thought; maybe this topic should be moved to the Subplots forum(s), so players can access it quicker when starting a quest.

Rayo - May 1, 2004 07:49 PM (GMT)
Post relevant questions to this here.

FXOmniCrest - May 2, 2004 10:15 PM (GMT)
Wait, does that mean if we use a keyword, we must come here and see what it is and MUST use it?

Also, we can't make up our own keywords?

Phoenix512 - May 2, 2004 11:16 PM (GMT)
This guide should be used as only a guideline to what field should look like. You can add your little details as well. You could never make up your own keywords. That has been a rule for long time now.

Wait, does that mean if we use a keyword, we must come here and see what it is and MUST use it?

Also, we can't make up our own keywords?

The keywords listed are, as far as it is known, all of the available keywords in "The World." Phoenix is right, custom keywords were never allowed, and this is just to determine the general appearance and difficulty of the area.

Largefatguy - June 9, 2004 02:40 PM (GMT)
how do you know what type of dungeon it is?

Arcion - June 9, 2004 04:22 PM (GMT)
You make several refrences to 'average' yet don't tell us what average is.

QUOTE
If this parameter is not covered, it will most likely fall under the range of Average Portals.

Now I can guess how many is average based on past questions I've directed towards friends who do have the game, but just for an answer for all.

Ichida - June 9, 2004 08:19 PM (GMT)
Well, you can probably make a general estimate on the amount of portals, the average field has somewhere between 15-20 portals; that range.

Trisk - June 24, 2004 08:45 PM (GMT)
Can you tell me what the average attributes for each statistic is?

Ichida - June 24, 2004 08:48 PM (GMT)
Average Portals = A medium amount of portals. Some range between 15-20 or so
Average Buildings = a formation here and there, not too many

Trisk - June 24, 2004 09:26 PM (GMT)
thanks

Kiara - July 7, 2004 08:30 PM (GMT)
Une question mon professeur! Are the keywords in your list listed according to how they appear next to each other or can they be interchanged?

i.e. Bursting Passed Over Aqua Field are the first 3 words of the blue lists. Where as Soaring Sky Evil-Eyed Prairie are the first, second, and third words in the burgandy lists respectively.

Ichida - July 8, 2004 10:15 AM (GMT)
I... don't really understand your wording.

The keywords are sorted by game THEN order in the game. So all the //INFECTION keywords are in order, then all the //MUTATION keywords, and so on.

Kumori - July 8, 2004 01:36 PM (GMT)
I think what Kiara means is are you able to interchange keywords from any spot on any list, meaning, any 3 keywords from any list.

Kiara - July 8, 2004 11:30 PM (GMT)
Somethin like that. It's a difficult question to phrase on a message board.

Ichida - July 9, 2004 02:47 AM (GMT)
You pick any one Part A Keyword, any Part B Keyword and any Part C Keyword for one area. What game it's from is irrelevant. But you can't pick two Part A keywords or three Part B keywords, as it goes for all the parts, etc.

Kiara - July 9, 2004 03:22 AM (GMT)
Ooooooo. I see. Thanks for the answer and sorry for the confusion. ^^"

Yuna Whitepaws - July 24, 2004 11:49 AM (GMT)
I have a question about the items. Wouldn't it be cheating if you said you got an item or would it just not count?

Duo0017 - July 24, 2004 05:20 PM (GMT)
If you say you got a item in your quest then your reward will be slightly deducted. Well, it matters what item you pick up too. If it's just a health drink, it probably wont be that much, but if it's something like... a weapon, then yea a lot will be taken off.

Now if your quest is just bad, then you wont get anything at all. The best way to avoid this is to not get items at all and just buy them before you quest.

Mirelle Tsurugu - July 28, 2004 05:59 PM (GMT)
Question! How do you figure out what the dugeon type is for a particular level? Or is random okay?

Duo0017 - July 28, 2004 06:21 PM (GMT)
I,personally, turn on my PS2 and just look at it real quick. You could always go back to the keyword thread that Cypher made and then just look at this keyword guide to figure out the enemy numbers, ect.

Ichida - July 28, 2004 06:29 PM (GMT)
Yeah, sorry, the guide doesn't have any dungeon info. You'll have to look into the game for that.

Kageryu - September 23, 2004 01:08 AM (GMT)
Thats what I always do but the problem is I broke my game yesterday. >_< I love doing that it looks so cool >_< hahaha! anyways. I have Outbreak and Quarintine, but I'm pissed I actually broke one of my games. It is my first time, I never have.

lugiablaster - December 27, 2004 07:49 PM (GMT)
Alright, time to see if anyone here can help and such:

What happens if there isn't a field type listed? I've got a Night Storm type field, so I think it's praries, but I'm not sure...

Rayo - December 27, 2004 10:51 PM (GMT)
If you mean to say here isn't a feild with the look you want, simply don't list the keywords that you're going to. Another alternative could be writing it off as hacking.

I think thats what you were asking.

You could always just use your imagination if you don't have anything sort of guidelines to assist you.

Alright, that's what I have to go off of now. Should be ok... Don't expect my next solo to be pretty :P

Lord Canti - March 24, 2005 02:22 AM (GMT)
I like the game usage idea the best for this. It seems I can map out all the aspects I'll need. Pity about the impossibility of made-up ones. I'd've come up with some cool ones...

My only beef is knowing when to and when not to impart items as they randomly show up.
