Title: 50,000 posts!
FXOmniCrest - March 11, 2004 08:09 PM (GMT)
Oops, not an administator
Lyra - March 11, 2004 05:59 PM (GMT)
Divergence reached its 50,000th post this morning at 11:39 Eastern time thanks to Asura. ^.^ Not quite a year in existance (we're about 3 weeks short) and we're at 50,000 posts... quite amazing.
Sydofh - March 11, 2004 06:05 PM (GMT)
Woo-Hoooo!!!
I'd say 50,000 in less than a year is pretty good.
Now we head for 100,000, then 500,000, then 1,000,000, then.....wait, I'm getting too far ahead of myself, aren't I?
Jinken - March 11, 2004 07:58 PM (GMT)
Is there going to be something to comemerate(sp?) the occasion?
Nikkio2003 - March 11, 2004 09:20 PM (GMT)
*cheers and waves flag*^^ WHOOT!
I say we should have a double-celebration. Both for 50k posts and for our beloved subplot site's BIRTHDAY!!^_^; Or, creation-day. Whotever.XD (Congratulations to Gingitsune, yer baby's growin'!XDD)
3 weeks?! My my, time does fly.. what date 'xactly Ly?
Rayo - March 11, 2004 10:19 PM (GMT)
Divergence was first created Friday 21, 2003 at 3:10 pm.
It is close to a year. It is 10 days short of reaching that date.
Hero - March 11, 2004 10:36 PM (GMT)
Congrats, everyone! Keep up the posting.
Now, logicleazy, we should be able to get more than 50,000 in the coming year, being that we have more members every day... or am I asking too much from the newbies. *coughhypocriticalstatementalert*
FXOmniCrest - March 12, 2004 12:21 AM (GMT)
Forget what I said before, even if it is true. Just minus off the oops part. Anyway, isn't some large chunk of that big number spam? Yeah, we can get more newbies, like me... And then a larger number of posts. Some will be spam, and some will not. Doesn't really matter anyways, still a good nice Commemoration of this achievement should be upheld on the birth date of this website (I'm starting to talk like an admin... No offense to any real admin.) A random giveaway of random items could be done. It might also make more people talk about the website, letting more people know about the website, which could lead all the way to a huge chain reaction of people joining the website. Okay, so it might not be huge, but it would still lead to an accomplishment.
Why are all the admins staring at me??? Stop scaring me!!! Okay Okay I'm leaving!!! Just don't haunt me... GHAAAAAAA!!!
ZAC TRETTER - March 12, 2004 01:58 AM (GMT)
50,00 posts. Anything special going to happen? But 50,000 posts in less than a year. The site must be popular. How many are we working towards now?
Aryanna - March 12, 2004 02:44 AM (GMT)
I think Asura, being the lucky bearer of the 50,000th post, should get a little something, don't you? It would be kind of like one of those give-aways where the millionth customer to walk into a store gets a free shopping spree or something... only replace "walk into a store" with "post," "millionth" with "50,000th," and "customer" with "member." ^^
Zavier Dragonus - March 12, 2004 04:51 AM (GMT)
Hmmm...50k huh? I'm extremely impressed...that's incredible.
Soon my year as a member of the hack will come. I can't believe we've only been here for that long...look at what we've accomplished in such a short amount of time. Well, I'm proud to be a part...I will never leave diverge, as long as i can help it.
May .hack//Divergeance and .hack//Subplots live forever...

Asura - March 12, 2004 05:20 AM (GMT)
Pshhh... for the 50,000th post, I think I should get a rare item. Even if it's just a rare costume item. <_< Of course, that's likely not going to happen, so I'm just gonna get nothing despite making the 50,000th post.
Odd thing is, I didn't notice that myself until I checked my inbox around noon today.
Midaki - March 12, 2004 05:21 PM (GMT)
I agree. Asura should get an item. Even if it's just a health drink.
Oh, and by the way, Asura, can I buy some items off of you?
EDIT: Wait, that says frog change. Nevermind.
The_End_Cypher - March 12, 2004 06:34 PM (GMT)
*pokes everyone*
Only 10 days left...my my how time flys!
A small step in a giant leep indeed...
Duo0017 - March 13, 2004 01:56 AM (GMT)
Wow, 50,000 posts. *nods* That tells you how popular this site is.
Anthony - March 13, 2004 02:30 AM (GMT)
Nice,
I am proud to be part of such a great site. May DIVERGENCE flourish!!!
Shia - March 13, 2004 02:42 AM (GMT)
Yeah!! 50,000!! All hail DIVERGENCE and all hail Gingitsune for making such a great site!! Hey!! We should have a Gingi-day!! The day she created DIVERGENCE!! The day I got braces!!
lugiablaster - March 13, 2004 08:59 PM (GMT)
We actually got 50,000 posts in a little over 11 months. Remember the two weeks that Divergence was out? If we include that, that comes to a little over 11 months. Just goes to show you how popular Divergence is ^_^ .

oookkkk... Repeat that, but stop before the "The day I got braces!!" part.
Anywhoo... A gingi day sounds nice. Lets make it like a b-day. We all get goody bags! (but we don't give presents :P)
I am getting ahead of myself, aren't I? Anywhoo... Someone should make a whole new pinned topic somewhere. Then we all go in there, and the moderators give us prizes on how we participated (All I ever do seemingly is ramble on and on, so I will probably get a single fortune wire) But thats besides the point.
Salem - March 13, 2004 11:46 PM (GMT)
I second the creation of a Gingi Day! Not only because she made a great site .. but because 'Gingi Day' sounds awesome. ._.
*says it to herself* .... >>; *snort* .. Gingi Day!
Kiara - March 14, 2004 03:58 AM (GMT)
*may get her butt kicked later, but decides to speak anyway*
Yay for 50,000 posts! Ok, that's that. As for a Gingi Day, do we REALLY need one? We already have special events for the holidays on the calendar, so I don't think we need to add another one. I may be a little pessimistic about this, but we really shouldn't put Gingi up on a pedastal so high that no one can reach her just because she built the site that has become immensely popular. In my opinion, that would be making her like a god or a saint, and no offence Gingi, but she isn't one of those. I really don't care either way, but that's my two cents.
Hacorie - March 14, 2004 05:35 AM (GMT)
Well congrats to everyone for the 50,000 posts. And i wil have to say that i agree with Kiara about the Gingi day thing.
FXOmniCrest - March 14, 2004 05:59 PM (GMT)
Kiara said she might get her butt kicked, and it shall!
*FX turns around and kicks Kiara, follows it up with a neck chop*
Oops, darn, I'm not a high enough level to hurt her that much.
I like the idea of a Gingi-day! I mean, she created the website, at least make a "divergence-day" in honor of Gingi making the website. We won't exactly be elevating Gingitsue (sp?) to the rank of Goddess Of Twilight, but hey. We need some sort of an annual celebration that is standard and can't be moved! You can move Winter Celebrations around because of all the religions, but you CAN'T change a designated date at which a certain thing was given life! That certain thing was the birth of the divergence of paths in "The World".
What I meant is that, holidays can be moved, a signified birthDATE cannot be moved! Yeah, you can move the PARTY around, but not the date! Christmas was moved around before, same with valentines day, and halloween! I mean it! A holiday is moved around by the government, but it doesn't matter, because a birth date of an individual is not controlled when enough value is put into it. I say that because there is enough people who have agreed, I say that there is value in the idea of a single dignified birth date, and so therefor, must be celebrated!
Thank you, thank you...
*Gets splattered with rotten tomatoes by Hacomy and Kiara*
As you can see, I disagree with Hacomy and Kiara.
Kiara - March 14, 2004 07:39 PM (GMT)
Ok, first off FXOmniCrest, I was talking about by the devout followers of Gingi, not some little n00bs. At any rate, I agree that DIVERGENCE should have it's own little "birthday" dealie, I just don't think it should be devoted strictly to Gingi. Yes, she made the site and published it through InvisionFREE. But we the players are the ones who actually make it possible. Think about it for a second. Without all of us, where would the message board be? Nowhere actually. It'd be just a plain, topicless forum out there rotting on some guy's server. I'm thankful for Gingi to have thought out the idea and mechanics of this site, but it is the players who actually make it something to come back to.
As for the holidays being moved around, I haven't heard of them being moved any in the past few hundred years. If anything, it's the people from centuries past who have moved the holidays around, not our modern day government. And Chanukka continues to remain constant in its position on the Jewish calendar which is so much different than the Gregorian calendar (or the calendar we as Americans use on a daily basis). So you see, it's all in the perspective of the people celebrating as to whether a holiday gets moved all the time or not. Birthdays are constant, and as I've mentioned in the above paragraph, would be a good thing to celebrate for DIVERGENCE. However, Gingi didn't make the site on her own, and I've already said this and I'll repeat it, we helped Gingi make the site what it is by putting some content into the site with our quests and random discussions in the OOC boards.
FXOmniCrest - March 14, 2004 07:53 PM (GMT)
Thanksgiving was moved around, but anyways...
I bow to Kiara and offer my services
I thought you also meant you were against a birthday thing, not just the gingi day, oops... Once again, I bow...
Nikkio2003 - March 14, 2004 08:30 PM (GMT)
Belated, yes, but- I don't think we need a Gingi Day.. A Divvy Day, wouldn't hurt.^^ Gingi's an awesome Admin-mod and everything, but I don't think necessarily there should be a Gingi Day-there already is one.^^ Her Birthday! So let's have the board itself get some limelight, maybe pay a little credit to all mods who've made the site get this far today- but mostly the regular ol' players.
Gingitsune - March 15, 2004 10:18 PM (GMT)
*grins* I'm proud! Sorry about not being able to post when it happened, but I've been literally swamped with schoolwork (you should see my locker ;_;)
Anyway, I agree that we should have a Divergence day, I've been working out some special things that will go around both this site, Main, and the main page on the day, and there'll be goodies for everyone! I'm so happy that this site has been a success, and am extremely thankful to all of you for making it happen! *cheers* Thanks to all of the mods, and all of the players and everyone ^_^.
There'll be some new features coming to the site in the near future, including the t-shirts I've promised quite awhile ago- for those I need completed artwork though, of which I don't have any.
Anyway, I hope you all enjoy Divvy's birthday, because in a sense it's a holiday for everyone to celebrate and enjoy. Nall and I created and built the site, and we, all of us, made it what it is today! I hope that this site lives on, and that we can celebrate its birthday this year, as well as next year, the year after and so on and so on! though I'm swamped with schoolwork, I do have spring break next month and I hope that I will have much more time to spend with the site, especially with subs which I have been able to visit but not post on. I love posting on the GD here and I miss it terribly!
March 21st everyone! :P
Hehe, and excuse the long-winded speech.
The_End_Cypher - March 15, 2004 10:30 PM (GMT)
*pokes*
Gingimia we shall have a feast to honor everyone!
*ish excited*
The GD's await your posting...
