Title: Gwen vs. Asura

As the three golden rings dissapeared, gwen stepped forward into a very small clearing...taking a deep breath of the dense, humid air, Gwen checked her equipment...
A big battle...that was an understatement for sure...Gwen had never turned down a challange and this one was definetly no exception...Wren, the pathetic leader of the VoT had to use his second in command to fight her...fine, he would fall , just as Wren would have...
After she was sure that her things were securely in place, Gwen tooked to the trees, which grew close, very close, together...getting a good distance away from the sancury of the small clearing, she stopped and awaited her opponent...
Asura - January 1, 2004 01:28 AM (GMT)
Asura’s form descends into the field for the duel, Seal Sword clutched in a single hand, ready for whatever may be waiting. The scheduled duel against Gwen was primarily created for upholding the honor of a guild, not to mention a bit of spite on Asura’s part. After all, Gwen managed to be quite annoying to the guild on several occasions and at the same time quite offending. While Wren would rather avoid combat for the most part, Asura would quite often seek it out as she did rare items, eager for a good challenge every once in a while. Of course, this wouldn’t be much of a challenge as it would be a statement; the 19 levels gap between the two players was a gap that not even the best duelist would be able to cross. It was rather to make sure that the power of the Avantgarden der Dammerung wasn’t underestimated in their absence from the Delta server; not to mention to wipe any delusions Gwen might have had that she could win a duel against Wren away.
Asura is wearing her newest kimono, a fiery yellow one composed of many bright and blinding colors. While it wasn’t necessarily the best clothing to use in combat, Asura had no doubt who the winner of this duel would be. So her yellow kimono had been chosen, the fabric made of light material that fell loosely over her body. Not only did it add an extra zeal to her outfit, but it also added that extra bit of insult to her opponent, stating that this was more or less a waste of time in the short run, though it had a purpose in the long run. After all, maybe this would teach her a lesson to not insult the Avantgarden der Dammerung in any form. At the least, she got a good fight and some publicity out of it!
The field is quite simply a clearing in the middle of the forest, one of the fields specially crafted for dueling. With no side exits, it was simply an empty meadow, with only blades of clean grass lifting up unheeding towards the sky. Without monsters to constantly trampled the blades into the ground, they were mostly unharmed, only a layer pushed down by the respective players entering the field. Trees rise up all around, rising into the sky like pillars, only without the symmetrical aspects that humanity places into its buildings. It’s an organic form, filled with twisting and branching off, ever fulfilling the pattern of nature’s design, even if the onlooker is unable to see this brilliant design. The crossing branches shade the meadow, only individual shafts of light touching the grass.
Asura takes a few steps forward, her yellow kimono brushing against the ground with each step, her Seal Sword pointed forward from her body, trying to discern the path that her opponent must have taken. A small path of crushed grass makes it obvious the distinct direction, the trees offering a great amount of cover to the clever Wavemistress. However, at the same time that trees offer cover, in order to be able to attack efficiently, one must leave that cover. That’s why snipers used as much camouflage as possible to hide their body as much as possible before launching an attack while their opponent seeks to find them. This wouldn’t work in a cramped clearing like this however; as there wasn’t enough room to effectively carry out those tactics without being seen.
Asura continues to take each step forward, slowly, her sandals making only the lightest of sounds with each step, carefully compressing each blade of grass slowly and deliberately so not to give her opponent the sound to realize her arrival. However, if she was looking out from behind her hiding place, it wouldn’t be hard for her to be noticed and thus, dealt with. After all, a level difference of the magnitude of this duel was hard to deal with, so any magical attack that might be used would only be worthless. It wasn’t going to take too long.

Peeking around from a large branch that she had seated herself behind every now and then, Gwen eventually saw her opponent walking slowly across the small clearing that she had arrived in...'so this was the legendary Asura,' she though to herself with a bit of a laugh, 'the second-in-command of the lousy Advantgarden.'
Remaining motionless as her opponent would no doubt be looking for her, Gwen grasped her wand tightly. Given the totally apparent level difference, she knew that there was not much hope that she may win, but that would not mean that she could not beat the living hell out of her opponent first.
She looked around the tree branch once more, saw the yellow clothing of her opponent...laughing aloud, Gwen shouted "Yellow is the color of a coward, you should rething your fashion sence, don't want it to reflect your true self." Finishing, Gwen jumped through the trees, that would be a good defence for the meantime, just awaiting the offence opportune moment...
Asura - January 6, 2004 04:52 AM (GMT)
Asura continues her walking towards the direction of her opponent, trying to keep careful track of her movements based only on the smallest sounds. Since it was obvious by now that Gwen was going to try an old Wavemistress tactic of hiding and using spells, it was important that a careful eye be kept on any movements. Every sound of the forest area reverberated through the player’s ears, the sounds of crunching leaves and snapping trees making their way swiftly to her ears. The sound of the rustling tree branches caused by a player moving within them was supported by a voice soon enough, making the position of the opponent all too clear to the trained fighter. Deciding that all too soon the Banshee’s Claws would be more useful than the Dek Ganz granted by the Hands of Earth, she switches the two armors, giving no room for the hiding opponent to launch a swift counter-attack.
"Yellow is the color of a coward, you should rethink your fashion sense, don't want it to reflect your true self,” yells out the opponent from somewhere in the trees foolishly. Making sounds is the worst thing one can do while being defensive minded and even the immediate movement after doesn’t serve to cover that mistake. Asura catches a glimpse of the Wavemistress as she shifts through cover, raising up her Banshee’s Claws and channeling in a bit of spirit into her armor. The energy around the armor grows out a bit like an aura, dancing in the air as the Blademistress mouths out for the spell she had been preparing as soon as she saw Gwen’s movement.
“SUVI LEI!” The words echo out throughout the field, causing the branches nearby to shudder at the echoing of the spells incantation. A cloud of strange gas materializes around where Gwen’s approximate position was, based on the movement glanced through the shroud of trees and the sound from her yelling. If all went well, she would be hit by the spell, instant paralysis traveling through her system and rendering her incapable of defending herself or casting one of her spells. She would be killed with a swift stroke of the Seal Sword, something that might very well be far too nice for the player who had so rudely insulting the Avantgarden der Dammerung in multiple occasions.
Asura walks forward towards where the opponent would inevitably fall, the yellow kimono dragging lightly against the ground as she draws closer, the Seal Sword cutting into the soil beneath the grass as it continues forward towards the Wavemistress, leaving a clean cut in the ground to mark the path she was taking. She had no need to worry about losing this duel, as even the most powerful spell in Gwen’s arsenal would only be enough to scratch the far higher level player. It was only a matter of time until this match was over and Asura could notch another win onto her records.

A loud crack was heard through out the dense forest...Gwen's opponent had caught sight of her, and immediatly casted a spell...but, the reason why her opponent had seen her was because she had moved, or particularly, moved to a different position...
Turning to look behind her, Gwen saw the spell shatter the branch that she had just been on...taking advantage of the noise, she jumped out of the tree she had just landed in, making her way along the tops of the trees, all the while listening of her opponent...
After the branch had fallen, Gwen stopped and took up a post in another tree waiting...
Asura - January 17, 2004 12:23 AM (GMT)
Asura doesn't hear the thud of a falling paralyzed body hit the ground, so immediately the assumption is made that the spell must have missed. Obviously, this Wavemistress was faster than originally expected, though it made no sense whatsoever. The only fast Wavemistress she had ever met before was the hacked Vera, who had skills far beyond that of a normal Wavemistress. Vera was far more like the rumored Werewolf class and the confirmed Fighter class than a magic user. Of course, those hacked stats gave her the bonus to carry out her physical attacks, something that didn't exist in the Army Wavemistress's case. Considering that, the movement speed that should be within the limits of her stats should be far lower than what was being exhibited. Asura would most certainly have to find out how this was possibly being done. She hated hackers, so perhaps she would get a chance to destroy one today, if the stats were created through intentional hacking to cheat the system.
Either way, the Blademistress starts to make slow, deliberate steps forward. She steps through the forest clearing with smaller strides than before. Each placing of the foot upon the grass covered ground is carefully planned out, avoiding snapping so much as a twig with the movements. Even if she did step on the twig, it likely wouldn't snap based on the light pressure exhibited by the advancing. Asura took to every bit of detail when it came to the fight, if she could be pried away from her collection of rare items long enough to pay attention. Even while in this duel today, she continually thought of how she could possibly get further rare items. After all, the amount of effort needed for this duel was next to none compared to some of the things she had witnessed.
The Seal Sword is lightly lifted off the ground from where it had cut through the grass and into the soil, leaving a line of humus to mark the path. A single, soundless slash of the blade sends off the soil, the blade being again only darkened by its own blackened steel. The blade is held pointed forward as the Blademistress slowly advances, listening for any of the tell-tale signs of movement. A Wavemistress able to move from tree to tree like that must naturally be using a larger deal of energy than a faster class. Based on that, the landings themselves must exhibit more force and be less sure, causing for the snapping of twigs by complete accident. Also, the very movement between the trees rustled the leaves themselves. This allowed Asura to pinpoint where her opponent had moved to, though she didn't act on it this time. The rustling of leaves as she moved had been a key factor to placing her position; when the leaves stopped rustling, the opponent must have stopped. By pinpointing this position, it was only a matter of time until a victory was secured.

sighing deeply, Gwen watched as her oponent drew closer to her...if she hadn't been moving already to another branch, then no doubt she would have been hit, but at that point she had been lucky...
'21 levels separate us...' Gwen kept thinking...'but that doesn't mean that I don't have a chance...' keeping an eye out for her opponent, she made no sound, and no movement whatsoever...besides a silent rythmic breathing...
Asura - February 15, 2004 10:40 PM (GMT)
Asura continues her slow advance towards her opponent, the Seal Sword dragging against the ground between the blades of grass. The yellow kimono brushes the grass lightly in the breeze, the blade wielding warrior drawing closer to her opponent with each step. The sound from Gwen had died down to next to nothing, even the breathing being camoflagued by the breeze itself. Normally, it would have been exceptionally hard to track her opponent's position with so little information.
Howver, based on Gwen's position, it would be much easier to hit her with Suvi Lei now that she stopped. The halting of movement made it so that there was a sudden cut off with sound and position, allowing the silence to be a pinpoint locator of her position. Also, her body itself acted as a shield that stopped the wind from blowing the nearby leaves as much, causing for a small area of much lighter moving branches to be a clear indicator of the position the Wavemistress was in. At this point of the battle, it was becoming easier and easier to defeat the opponent, who was not even making any active attempt at offense. A good offense made for a good defense; with the Wavemistress on the run, the Blademistress would not have to worry about any unexpected attacks. Slowly, she raises up her hands to cast another Suvi Lei at the position her opponent must be, energy running down her arms and into the Banshee's Claws once again.
"Suvi Lei!" she yells out, letting more of her SP run away from her, though at a great boon to her cause. The paralyzing gases of the spell would materialize all around the Wavemistress, the poison moving through her system. The nervous system would start to go numb first, followed by the muscles. Since being up in a tree takes a good deal of conscious balance as well as thought, the paralyzation would cause the Wavemistress to fall to the ground with a distinct thud soon. It was only a matter of waiting for Asura, who decided to take the moment to taunt the weaker opponent.
"Earlier I do believe you said yellow was the color of a coward. However, if you had known anything about auras, you would notice that yellow was more closely related to inspiration, intelligence, and awakening. Perhaps you should read more, no?"

Seeing as how this duel is more than two months overdue, and that Gwen has left, Asura gets the auto win.
(Just performing some closure.)
