This is only the prototype, I already have a list of ideas for version 1.0. But if you'd like to see something in it it doesn't have, please, go ahead and tell me.

finally out of my medication induced rut. i have a new clan banner in the works, soon to be added here. if anyone is a familiar of www.dothack.com you will definitely like this one.
it should be done by sunday. a first for the clan. an animated clan banner.
:D
*Add in really cool looking banner here*
(heh, a reminder for all those who folow this type of thing.)
KamiKazeKiwi3 - April 30, 2004 10:14 PM (GMT)
Some time has passed since anyone proposed a banner. I noticed that Crimson stuck to the last one that Curia suggested. I'm going to start including it in my profile. It probably won't go in my signature because I already have my random messages and stats. Those take up quite a bit of space. As an advocate of slim signatures, I wouldn't want to contradict myself.

To save on the loading time and the size of your banner, please use the one that will be linked to below. It has the same appearance as the one most of you are using now. The grey and light one, not the blue one. Those who are using the blue banner need not change. If you need an example, I am now using the banner I am asking you to apply too. Why? It is compressed to save time for those poor souls that have only a 56K connection to deal with.

Kiwi, angelfire doesn't allow hosted images. I've taken the liberty of finding another image hoster and uploading it.
You may now use the following:

Wait, do we HAVE to put this in our siggy?
Aeneas - May 7, 2004 08:03 PM (GMT)
Why wouldn't you want to?

I am sorry, but my question hasn't trully been answered...
Because I want to know is it a must... You only asked why I wouldn't want to...
Sorry, but I like to keep my questions straight and to the point, I have had too many bad experiences when my question wasn't answered. Sure, you can add on other phrases, I don't mind, but please understand I would like to at least have an answer to my question in clear terms...
(No offence to anyone)
lugiablaster - May 8, 2004 05:48 PM (GMT)
I'm pretty sure you don't, and it's just a sort of team spirit thing....
But don't take my word for it...
KamiKazeKiwi3 - May 8, 2004 07:04 PM (GMT)
To bring this point to a close, yes, you don't have to put the banner in your signature at the moment. I have never truly enjoyed mandatory intergration of some things. However, it does stick out if you're in a group and do not apply its banner. Besides the grey banner that is the largest, there are two others floating about that can be applied instead if space is a concern. I removed parts of my signature specifically to make space for the banner.
lugiablaster - May 12, 2004 04:36 AM (GMT)
Suggestion:
I suggest we get a new banner. Our current banner, to me, looks a little too plain... I suggest we make it have more details or get an entirely new one.
A thought by me:
When I think of the name Swordbreakers, I think of a powerful sword that broke due to a great battle that was fought. I suggest that we get a new banner that corresponds to our clan name. Now, this is probably just me and my imagination running wild again...
Banner:(My design)
(I really can't do anything on my computer to make a banner so I won't be able to do this myself even if it is approved...)
A sword goes through the middle of the banner. Halfway across, the sword is broken, creating the two pieces of the sword. On one side, we could have: Swordbreakers: Noble and the other half have through Eternity. If that wouldn't fit, we could make it so that the top has half of the sword and the bottom has half, causing a:
====|||==Swordbreakers: Noble===
........................................=======through Eternity=========>
(I had to use periods or it wouldn't work... The sword can also be shorter or longer, depending on how you want it to look.)
The backround could be any color, though I would suggest a black backround with white dots, like space with stars. This can, of course, be changed.
This is all just suggestions, but yeah...
lugiablaster - May 19, 2004 11:26 PM (GMT)
We finally have a banner of sorts that looks awesome :woot:

 Major thanks to SaeSawanoguchi for making it.
NOTICE: Please don't put this in your signature yet. There might be something wrong with the banner, and if you find it, could you please post it here? Thank you.
FXOmniCrest - May 20, 2004 12:28 AM (GMT)
I don't really appreciate that banner, I think that the old one is better and either way, I don't like putting banners up so if it turns mandatory, I am sorry but I would leave this clan. No offense Slicer, just get the point that some of us really don't appreciate banners. It would have looked better with two swords clashing together with the words on the bottom half in the same slanted format that is in your banner, but that is just my idea.
Anyways, please, kamakazekiwi3, don't make banners mandatory, for us banner-not-likers-for-certain-designs's sake... (I don't mean to offend anyone here)
KamiKazeKiwi3 - May 20, 2004 12:41 AM (GMT)
*sighs* I'm not planning on making banners mandatory. I just believe that those of us who are want to say we are in this clan should have a banner that is smaller. I don't really use banners much either. I've had to cut down on my signature to hold the banner. But I find that it's a little strange when the leader of a clan doesn't use its banner and working on the best banner that we can find is a good idea.
Aeneas - May 29, 2004 12:43 AM (GMT)
How's this one look?
kijusho - May 29, 2004 01:17 AM (GMT)
We have banners and options. How about a vote. Set up a voting thread for the most likable banner because having different looking banners on the same clan is a bit confusing. Don't you think?
KamiKazeKiwi3 - May 29, 2004 02:06 AM (GMT)
I believe we should gather all of the banners in a voting thread and decide which one once a deadline has passed. Prior to the deadline, clan members would be able to suggest the kind of banner they want and post about it in this thread. We wouldn't be able to use a poll because that kind of voting is public if a thread can be read by anyone, and that's how things work here. Hence, people would be required to post their vote to avoid people outside of the clan being able to vote.
Aeneas - May 29, 2004 02:15 AM (GMT)
We should do it on a point system. Put the your votes in the order of your preference. So, if there are five banners, then my favorite banner gets five points, my second favorite gets four points, etc. That way no one really loses.
kijusho - May 29, 2004 12:50 PM (GMT)
How about a thread just like the one for the treasury but this one has three items to be counted for the three banners. We could use that point system you propposed.
- 3 pts. for most favorite
- 2 pts. for moderate
- ...and 1 pt. for the least favorite
How's that?
Aeneas - May 29, 2004 03:53 PM (GMT)
A brief note of explanation on the one I designed:
The kanji in the pictures mean Nobility and Eternity, respectively. The broken sword is an actual sword from .hack called the Fugaku. I didn't feel the need to clutter the banner up even more with the words Swordbreakers, especially since it's pretty obvious what the sword is doing. I'm considering getting rid of the wording altogther, and just letting the picture do the speaking.
kijusho - May 30, 2004 02:34 AM (GMT)
But you could at least write there "Swordbreakers" for the other clans to see. That's the reason for the banners, ain't it?
KamiKazeKiwi3 - May 30, 2004 07:54 AM (GMT)
We have a lot of banners to pick from so it'll have to be more than 3 points. I suggest ranking them in order of favorites. However, we won't decide at this moment to allow everyone to gather their suggestions. Be aware that I have realized another problem. Kijusho first noticed that images weren't showing up. I doubted him initially, then realized that all images stored in Yoxio.com have been disabled. A lot of the things on the site are therefore off.
kijusho - May 30, 2004 02:57 PM (GMT)
Looks like it just got fixed. I'm still not sure so the selected items can still be disabled.
Aeneas - May 30, 2004 03:20 PM (GMT)
Holy funk, I can't see them either. Where are we gonna get another free picture hosting service?
kijusho - May 30, 2004 03:35 PM (GMT)
Now this is a major problem!

The pictures in the voting thread (DO NOT VOTE YET) are hosted by photobucket. They should all still be up.

Why can't we vote? It's not like we're going to get any younger...
Sorry, just had to say that, but my question still remains...
Aeneas - June 2, 2004 03:25 AM (GMT)
Kiwi wants to leave it open for more submissions.
kijusho - June 2, 2004 04:30 AM (GMT)
cool. When's the deadline?
Aeneas - June 9, 2004 01:13 AM (GMT)
And yet another submission!

First off, I again used the Fugaku because that sword is plain ol' bad @ss! The backdrop is a nebula, where (the enlightened astronomer knows) a galaxy is born. A mass of birthing stars, which I think is an excellent euphmism for our own rebirth. The new slogan comes courtesy of my sister, Yuna Whitepaws. Stay down boys, she's only 10. Besides, you ain't seen me duel til you've said what you shouldn't to or about my sister. Anywho, the kanji again are dark and light, respectively. Should I replace my banner in the voting thread with this one or leave the old one there? Or even include both?
kijusho - June 9, 2004 10:40 AM (GMT)
Now that's cool. :woot: Why don't you just add it to the list of candidates?
suggestion:
The dark blue text is a bit blurry and a little bit hard to read so maybe you could fix that. Maybe enlarging it or maybe just replacing it with a lighter color.
By the way, I'm 15. :P Like anyone cares, shees!!!
