Here are some frequently asked questions here on Divergence, so for those of you who dont even bother to read the rules or announcements then you have got to look here!1. Q: How can I start playing The World?
A: When can we all? There isnt a real "The World" its just a computer game based from an anime/ps2 game called .hack//SIGN
(Anime Series)/.hack//INFECTION
(PS2 Game) Once we get word on a Virtual Reality game called The World, we'll let you know!
2. Q:Is this just forums based Role Play? Or are there some files I can download?
A: Yes, this is a forums based on Role Play, you write extraordinary posts just for the imagintation of it!
There are no files for download: Once again this is
not a game!
3. Q: How Does GP/Money System Work for Forums?
A:When you first register with both the site, and the story itself, you recieve 1000GP Each Friday, you gain 200GP. You can also sell extra items or equipment for extra money. Sometimes, you may recieve money from questing, however that isn't very common nowadays.
4. Q: How do I change my title? Like first it said : Kakedeshi now it says Senshu.
A: Go to
My Controls then to Edit Profile Info.
5.Q:I just tried to change my Title but the space isnt there why?
A: There is a 5 Postage minium before you are able to change your title.
6. Q: How do we get Treasure Chests?
A: You get treasure chests by simply putting them into your posts, although we do ask that you don't add treasure chests
so often
. If you give yourself too much, we'll quickly take things away from you. (that ou gave yourself) (Hint: Dont give yourself too many treasure chests, your rewards in the Gott Statue Room will be small)7. Q: When do I get to the Gott Statue/Final Treasure Chest of Dungeon.
A: The Gott Staute, is the ending room of the dungeon, once you get there you use a Sprite Occarina to gate out to the field and warp back to the Root Town.
(Hint: Dont Gate Out of the field untill one of the moderators give you your rewards.)8. Q: What are Sprite Occarinas,The Moons, The Hanged Mans? etc...
A: Please Check the Attirbutes Page:
http://www.glasscharm.org/hack/attributes.htmlfor Item and Weapon descriptions and ability capabilites!
9.Q:How do I form a Party?
A: You simply either PM with a few users, check with them to see if their not in an adventure right now, or post in the BBS 2 section asking for a party. You then start a story with them.
10.Q: How do I gain levels?
A: When you finish a story, and have made it to the final part of the dungeon, you wait for a moderator to come and check up your story, then they'll reward you. If they think its good enough they'll reward you a level. The current people who reward quests are Rayo, Lyra, Cypher, and Wren.
11.Q: What are Special Events?
A: Special Events are events held by CC Corp! They will be having strange tasks for you to do! If you pass you recieve prizes!
12.Q: Do I get Treasure Chests in Special Events?
A: That really/mainly depends on how the event is set up. Please refer to the Event Announcement to see if this event allows users to find Normal Treasure chests.
13.Q: How do we get to fields or dungeons?
A: You simply write in your posts that your either in Mac Anu and heading towards the Chaos Gate or your actually starts out in a field all by itself. Be reminded though that once your in a dungeon nobody else can come in.
14.Q: What are: The Unity, Swordbreakers etc..?
A: These are certain groups/clans/guilds user-made, so if you would like to join talk to the head of each group and ask them. If you would like to start up a new group ask a moderator. There are certain restrictions. Currently, no additional groups are being accepted.
15.Q: What is the Main Plot?
A: The Main Plot is a section where the Main actual story of Divergence is rped, certain users are only allowed to participate in the Main Plot for the time being considering that there are so many users over there right now. You rp here in the Subplots before actually moving on.
If you have information on .hack then you'll do greater in this game! ^_^

Does this mean that others are allowed to join the party while they are still on the field?

Ryusuke - July 27, 2005 08:46 PM (GMT)
what if you can't view the attributes page?
nighthand - July 27, 2005 09:11 PM (GMT)
Gamefaqs should work, since the attributes page was essentially a gamefaqs rip.
Of course, NISDIP will soon be available to the public; the attributes page will be obsolete.

nighthand - July 27, 2005 09:35 PM (GMT)
NISDIP is a code-name for a guide I've been working on for some time now. It contains, among other things, all the weapons and armor complete with stats, all the skills and spells, and even the costume pieces and divergence-created items and classes.
It's currently in a proof-reading stage while I add the last few bits to it (price guide and monster list) and then it'll be released for everyone.

Can I goto a shop, or trade center while I'm in a quest if I don't use the items I gain while in the quest?

Yes
siegfried - March 27, 2007 06:48 AM (GMT)
can i have Siegfried as my world name
Jpec07 - March 27, 2007 07:33 AM (GMT)
Yes, but you have to follow these rules:
- You may not have any relations with Balmung or the original assortment of .hack characters.
- Your character must be unique and not the .hack character.
The only real reason I'm allowing you to do this is because I believe you know better than to break our rules, and that the name "Siegfried" is actually a really common name (besides being one of the characters in .hack, it's also the name of one of the swords, and the name of a really popular entertainer: "Siegfried and Roy").

2 things... I made my account some time ago, and posted a few times. I do not know if i got any extra money during the time i was here, because i don't remember the salary rule being in effect at that time.
My second question, what would one have to do, if they decided that they wanted to change their in game charactor's outfit?
nighthand - June 4, 2007 10:17 PM (GMT)
If by "Salary Rule" you mean the GP on friday gain, that's always been around. As for getting the GP while you were away... not really. It only really applies when you're active. When you were active, and didn't add GP... I suppose you just missed out. It's not really feasible to retroactively grant the GP.
As for changing your outfit, essentially you just say you changed, basically. You can't give yourself wings/whatever, things that would be restricted, but changing clothing you can pretty much just do.
Atrimis - June 4, 2007 10:27 PM (GMT)
lol, obviously I did not expect retroactive payment, lol. I think at most I missed it from one week. I didn't know that we were supposed to apply the gold our-selves... for that matter i've always been afraid to touch my profile, just don't want any mistakes to get me banned.
And i took my hiatius because of another game, but I came back because the shiny graphics, and new race of the other game still wasn't as fun in the long run.
Edit: oh, yea My post has been purged since I joined, which is sad, but I have it saved on my hard-drive. Should i just start a new post... or is there something else I should do to get my story back up, and get my credit for it?
Oh, and general question #3... or is this 4... either way... can blademasters use a light quality armor for more sp? i mean they're an all around class, is that possible? (thinking of other games where a class can use any armor, but can downgrade the quality for more int which equals more mp... very simular tot hings here. Just a thought. )
Jpec07 - June 4, 2007 11:38 PM (GMT)
3. I'm not sure exactly what you mean. Your registration is fully intact, so I'm assuming you're talking about the one-post-long quest you had going. If you wish to continue that story, please repost that first post along with any additional content, and then submit it for grading.
4. This is probably gonna be more information than you wanted, but it'll help (from my work in progress, "Ultimate Guide to Divergence):
Basically, the classes have different “weights” that determine what kinds of armor they can and can’t wear. The heavier the class, the more armor it can wear, and the stronger, beefier, and slower it is. There are three weights to classes of the World: Heavy, Middle and Light. Your class’s weight actually determines a lot about your character, including stats. Two of the most important ones, though, are your HP and your SP.
There are formulas for determining what these numbers are for your character (note that different armors have no effect on these formulas):
| CODE |
.::::::::: SP FORMULAS :::::::::::. :______________.__________________: | Class Weight | Formula | :==============:==================: | Light | 29 + (level *6) | | Medium | 15 + (level *5) | | Heavy | 6 + (level *4) | :==============:==================:
.::::::::::: HP FORMULAS ::::::::::::. :_______________.____________________: | Class | Formula | :===============:====================: | Wavemaster | | | Archer | 40 + (level *15) | | Whipmaster | | | ------------- + ------------------ | | Twin Blade | 45 + (level *18) | | Fist Fighter | | | ------------- + ------------------ | | Heavy Blade | | | Blademaster | 50 + (level *20) | | Long Arm | | | ------------- + ------------------ | | Heavy Axe | 50 + (level *25) | :===============:====================:
|
As for armor, a class can only wear armor that is the same weight or “lighter” than its weight. Basically, a Heavy Class like a Blademaster has access to every type of armor (heavy, medium, and light), while a Light Class like a Wavemaster only has access to one type of armor (light). For this reason, many people favor the heavier classes due to their ability to wear any kind of armor. However, there are almost always better spells on light armors, and since that’s the only kind of armor that light classes can wear it’s the only kind of armor they receive as rewards for quests and such (while the heavier the class, the less likely they are to get those armors).
Atrimis - June 5, 2007 01:08 AM (GMT)
huh. besides the weapons, which I'm sure have different skills, it seams like playing a Heavy Blade, Blademaster, or Long Arm is superfluous, because they don't get as much HP as the Heavy Axe does, but they're limited to the same amount of sp.
EDIT:One last thing... sp recharge time of 1 per round, that's only in verses combat, right? If someone is soloing, or just fighing npc-based enemies, they can up the rate, as long as it's not like "spam spell after spell"...
Stane - June 5, 2007 07:05 PM (GMT)
The board is more about roleplaying than numbers. A lot of people prefer the heavyblade just because they'd like to act as one and fight like one.
I can't answer your second question, sorry.
Exangelus - June 5, 2007 07:15 PM (GMT)
Yes, the 1 SP per post rule applies only to duels. Questing posts are not restricted by the same rule, but like you said, you have to roleplay believably. If you cast a series of six or seven spells in the course of one battle as a low-level Heavyblade, the general effect will be a worse reward, since you couldn't realistically do that in-game. It's not enforced too heavily as long as you use common sense.

Read this along with some of the other registrations. Take a good long time to think about what you're character's personality and future is going to be like. Copy and paste the registration form into a writting software and fill it out with zero gramatical of spelling errors. Make sure that your Personality and Physical Description are well thought out, detailed, and at least a paragraph long. Fill out the sample role play to at least the amount of >>>1<<< page's length with zero mistakes. Copy and paste this golden completion of a registration into a post in the Character Registration thread. Title it with your character's name and subtitle something witty. Post and patiently await the review of a staff member, some one whom has been here for at least 6 months, and\or has a level above 10.
It might seem long and drawn out, I know it took me a few months to get my head on straight enough to get in, but you'll quickly find out that it can be remarkably easy if you just relax and work with the people that are willing to help you.
