So the first sixteen episodes are up on http://naruto.viz.com/ and I'm a little wary.

Part of me is thinking, "the one episode I did watch only didn't suck because they probably just downloaded Dattebayo's versions and changed a few words". Part of me is thinking, "great, now Sai's gonna be totally censored". Part of me's got the "well, give them time, maybe they'll do okay..." thing going.

And part of me saw Dattebayo's announcement that essentially said "We're willing to sub it for them if they ask hint hint wink wink go tell them" and is going YES, YES, DO IT.

So yeah.

How's everyone else feel about this?

(Part of me also wonders how American kids will feel about hearing the Japanese voices when they're used to the English ones, or how they'll adjust when the English versions of these come out and they're used to the Japanese ones... and of course... How many spoiled little brats will go whining to mommy and daddy because they have to read during their anime.)

Not sure what to think. I streamed the first part of episode 16 and watched the Dattebayo version at the same time to see how well it was done. There are differences of course, statements that became questions and statements that seemed less... affirmed, is the word I'm thinking?

But I don't know, I guess all that can be done is to wait to see how it unfolds from here.

I would be so totally interested in watching it but the link went dead.

But i'll give my opinion of it anyways:

I love it. Best. Idea. Ever. SO much is always lost in translation from Japanese to English dub, and i do believe that if they paid dattebayo to do it it would be the most perfect use of their skills and get the best translation it could possibly get.

Soon as the link isn't dead I'm gonna suggest to them to have dattebayo do it.
