Title: Does anyone...

...study any kind of martial arts?

I'm a master of various forms of martial arts...the Sum-Dum-Guy, the Hit-Lee-Groin, and the horrid Bust-A-Shin technique.

Heh, I remember the Bust-A-Shin technique. Had a friend that enjoyed using it on any male in reach because we wouldn't strike back. Felt kind of bad because one time I blocked and she broke three toes on my shin. I faked a limp for a couple of days so she felt better.
I used to practice Karate, but decided I don't like actualy hitting people so now I use Jujitsu and Judo.
How about you?
Zhirin - July 28, 2003 04:21 PM (GMT)
I used to practice Karate but it wasn't that fun. I then moved into Tae Kwon Do but after two years of doing the same drills it all became boring. So for some time I have been looking at the different types martial arts. The ones I am reallly intersted in are Ninjitsu and a resent one I found, Aikido.
What's Jujitsu like.

I studied Karate for a short time, but the dojo was a joke so I left. I now study anything I can get my grubby little paws on, on my own.(<== rodundent no?) I tend to stick to weapons arts as weapons are my passion. Particularly melee type weapons.
Zhirin - July 29, 2003 12:59 AM (GMT)
When it comes to weapons I usually stick to either a quarterstaff of my Katana. I have to get a new Katana though my current one is broken from extensive use.
What kind of melee weapons do you use?
Hayabusa - July 29, 2003 01:37 AM (GMT)
Wow, a real katana must cost quite a bit of money, no?
As for me, right now all that I'm trained in is the really basic stuff, but I plan on learning Tae Kwon Do and Shaolin Kung Fu. Shaolin Kung Fu would kick ass...but I may have to wait a few years to learn it. Mainly out of the complete lack of places to train and be trained where I live.

The price of a Katana depends on where you get it and the quality. For me it usually ends up like the Pawn shop here. You know you say a price then the merchant gives you a price and you just work you'r way from there.
Shaolin Kung Fu eh, I see how that would be a problem. There aren't many Shaolin temples around you know. I have seen some dojos but they just teach regular Kung Fu. They don't really go detail that much like a Shaolin Priest would.

I studied Karate when I was younger for a short amount of time but it was fun. I think my parents didnt like the teacher or something so made me quit.
Ishoni - August 9, 2003 04:10 AM (GMT)
I used to practice karate. I gave it up. Friggin' expensive. $99 a month. I developed my own martial arts. I also developed a unique blocking manuver. Can't use it that much, I wish I could kill people without being hunted down by the feds. I've wondered if I could kill someone. Stylishly of course. Maybe break an arm and snap the neck as I pass by. Violent people don't scare me. I've kill them if they start to fight. Maybe just hurt them to the point that they wish they were dead. I have no conscience. I'd murder everyone in my school and have little remorse, if any. I'm sadistic. Good grade surpress my feelings. I'm a "nice" person. Screw that.

Erm. I took one lesson of Koc sool or however its spelled some time back...
Hey, it was a freebie! How could I turn it down?
CuRiA - August 11, 2003 01:11 PM (GMT)
if anyone is interested look up "Kali" its a melee based martial art form. you get trained in something like 30 different types of weapons. ranging from the standard katana, to the nodachi, to spears and double sticks

Sounds really cool to me. I'll look it up right now on net and see if there's anything useful.
