Here is were I will put my random art Stuffage. It's not bad nor good. The only things that will be here for the time being is "Angel Wings" and "Heihi Kousa". I don't have the Heihi Kousa pics scanned yet and some of the Angel Wings need to be re-drawn. Anywayz, I have two pics for your random rantage.

Angel Wings: Yume
Angel Wings: Tsuzuka

^__^ very lovely wings... i cant draw wings for crap >.>;; tehe. Lol , anywho, o.o; if you want more ideas on the structure of the body you should by one of those manicans ( or what ever there called) ^__^ the little movable wooden ppl! They can come in handy when you dont know what goes where.

Or, another thing you can do, if you're cheap (like I am) is use the Skeleton method. A head is vaguely shaped like an egg with the pointier side aimed down, so you draw that first somewhere on the paper, preferrably near the top-center. Then, measure out along your pencil, the length of the head from "chin" to "crown" (top to bottom), and then make little mark offs starting at the chin of the head, mark off 5 head lengths down, at the "second chin" is the bottom of the chest, at the bottom of the "third chin" is the groin, bottom of the "fourth chin" is the knees, and the bottom of the "fifth chin" is at the ankles. Then measure out the width of the head, from ear to ear. Then, placing one end of the pencil at the center of the chest, mark off a head's length on both sides of the chest line, and that's the maximum expanse of the shoulders. Ovals for the forearms, overlapping slightly at the joints in the elbows, and circles for the fists to start. and just a bit of anatomy trivia - the legs start ABOVE the waist, by just a smidge, they don't just suddenly jut out at waist level (which is why pants sometimes sag if you put heavy stuff in the pockets, cuz even at the waist your body slopes outwards slightly).

Then draw ovals for the legs, overlapping again at knee joints marked by chinline 4, and then feet can start as squares just off the "ankles" - make an inverted cross on the egg, one line from chin to crown, the other from ear-to-ear, and that's your eye and nose/mouth line.

I attempted to make a diagram with text on here for you, but I failed. So I hope that explanation helps out a bit. If not, I can try and draw it out for you step-by-step and scan them all so you can see. ^_^

Hai...I know what your saying. But...it was overly confusing. You kinda lost me in some places. Good thing I've seen what your talking about, Wren. And I am not goingto buy a small wooden person just to get a pose. Sure, it could help with the anatomy and such. But I do not have money, nor can I buy one from the internet. (Rather look at "How To..." kinda books) I'd rather watch anime, pause the dvd and study it or constantly look at a manga book and look at the charaters. And overlapping does help in some area like having the knee bent and stuff.(I've done it before ^^) But...sadly...I'd rather go on instinct to draw and not relying on a small wooden person to help me.

I just thought this picture was awesome. I saved it from Advanced Anime a while back.(not mine!)

I have my Heihi Kousa pics, but I just need them resized. They'll be here soon.
