Title: Site Updates
Description: We want YOUR opinions!
Sekai - April 17, 2008 02:52 PM (GMT)
It may just be me or it may be some of our newer members but, I've decided it'd be a good idea to hear back from everyone on our beloved site about a few topics. Here's what I'd like to see, Admin-sans, please edit in what you'd like to see feedback on as well~!
1. Helpful Information (This includes FAQs for Registration, Duels and anything else you can think of!)
2. Updates (What do we need to update that you feel is out of date or fits in with the site now?)
3. Navigation (Is something too hard to find? Let us know your suggestions on what those are and how we can help make it easier!)

I think that the registration guidelines need to be updated. I remember when I was registering for the site, it was very hard to find simple answers like HP calcs and skill explanations. I think that a simple guideline going through each number (1-12, I think?) with an explanation and maybe even choices in the case of class and weapons.
I basically found out everything I know about duels from Uruvei and Sekai, but I'm not sure why cause there's a good FAQ
here written by Lyra.
MORE STUFF LIKE THIS! I'm really liking this member-input style. It makes sense for us to be in on the decisions (not making, just seeing and showing our approval or disapproval). :)

I've got a project about halfway done that's basically an OverFAQ of the forum, explaining everything about the site in detail (but it's been sitting on my flash drive for a long while without being touched, and will probably remain that way until the summer). While I think a resource like that, which would contain all the answers to most questions, would be useful, it's still a ways away from completion.
In its stead, I think that having a global post in all the IC forums that references all of the major and most useful FAQs would be sufficient. Or maybe a forum-header like is in the Q&C forum would work better. Either way, it would be a great resource to have so that we don't have to click all those 3-4 extra links.

I requested permission to revamp the RegFAQ a while ago, but nothing was ever said to me about it...
Most of it is fairly simple, but the need for the calculations is a good enough reason to at least modify the post. It really wouldn't be that hard. I could do it between classes. =D

I miss the old Pawn Shop fortunecookiequestions! (Yes, I cling to old things.)
It seems like there are NEVER any rares in the Pawn Shop anymore, which means that there are NEVER any fortune cookie questions. It was so funny watching people line up and try to answer a riddle to get a rare item (and it was so disappointing when someone finally got the answer!!)
I know it might be considered "unbalancing" to just throw a random rare into the Pawn Shop, but it also seems to me like some of the "original" rares, like the bathing suits, kimonos and pieces of the Cat/Frog/Bunny/Ballet/whatever-else-suit-pieces rares aren't really around anymore? Maybe once every few months (2-4 months) one of them could come into the shop? (:

OOOOh, that would be fun even for non-rares. Shoot, I'd do that for a health drink...

Hey, there's a fun idea. The pawn shop people could occasionally randomly have cookie questions for 'closed box' items... so you don't know whether you're trying for a Speed Charm or a rare. That would be a little different from just going for a rare normally, because the winner would get it for free.
...Heh, I dunno. Just an idea that came into my mind while I was reading the thread. x3

I know this was discussed on a thread maybe a few months before, but duel rewards? I don't think levels would be appropriate for that kind of thing, but more like small items and such. It would make the dueling thread a bit more active and it just seems right for the winner to get something small or something good for how good he/she was.
There's my opinion.
