Title: Terms of Service {For Subplots}
Description: Read for rules and important statements.
Wanderer - July 10, 2003 10:29 PM (GMT)
[Basic Rules]1. Do not talk out of character without OOC.
2. Do not talk OOC when in character.
3. If you leave the thread and join a new thread, you're gone for the rest of the quest.
4. There is no rule #4.
5. You may only be in one quest for rewards at a time.6. No cheating, or PKing.
7. The longer the quest, the better.
8.
Level Maximum: 99
9. Once you’ve finished a Subplot Story Please PM a
Rewarding Moderator. [Sekai, Dien or Zan]
9b. Alternately, click this link (
CLICK ON THESE UNDERLINED WORDS) and post a link to your quest in the thread.
10. You are allowed to be in a Duel and a Subplot Story at the same time!
11. Sorry everyone, but you are not allowed to go to the fair and be on a quest at the same time.
-------------------------------------------------------------- [Gingitsune’s Statement on getting into the Main Plot] Alright, a lot of people have been pestering me about how to get into the Main Plotline, so I decided to write out an outline for you!
1. Don't pester any of the mods, or admin, to let you in- we'll be reading the posts that everyone makes, so we know.
2. Getting into main plot requires
good posting, you need to have good grammar, good posting skills, and a good idea of how to play without ticking people off.
3. Quality, not Quantity! I don't care if you have 100 topics in here, and 589 posts- I just care
how you post; I might accept someone with
one post if I think they're ready.
4. Once you're accepted into Main Plot, you have to wait for the entire group to return to Mac Anu, we're often in the middle of a big dungeon battle against the hackers, and you can't join in there, you'll just have to wait patiently.
5. If we find that once you're in main, you're not posting well, we may put you back in subplot.
The reason we're doing this is that before there were a lot of people in main plot, who couldn't handle it, and didn't contribute to the storyline. It's one thing to post that way in subplot, where each person has their own story going, and no one has to read whatever they don't want to. But in Main we have only
one storyline, and it's hell ploughing through hundreds of one-liners and posts that just don't fit well into the story. And I don't want to sound mean, but bad grammar and spelling is quite annoying when you think about it, it's like trying to put together a puzzle when half of the pieces are missing ^_^
Thanks!
-------------------------------------------------------------- [Tokki’s Statement on Effort] It's becoming increasingly obvious that some of you people aren't taking this serious enough at all. If you wish to reach the main plot and progress in the eyes of the moderators.. as well as increase your ability as writers/role players yourselves, you need to fix some things.
1) Don't post with numerous ridiculous spelling errors. It degrades your character and the writer behind him/her. It would be wise to ensure that something this embarrasing doesn't happen to you.
2) Grammar needs to be near immaculate as well. It's your first language people (For most of you). Make it obvious.
3) Please be creative. The fight scenes have to be scanned over/read by the moderators, and we have to decide on how much to award you considering what you do. It would really be nice if you all put as much effort as you could into your posts and try to impress the moderator. It's more beneficial for you to do so. Simply making a fight scene and describing that you won. That you tried an attack, it didn't kill the enemy, and then you attacked again and the enemy died... well as you can see isn't very descriptive at all. I don't want to see any posts that contain a battle scene with less than a paragraph. A paragraph being 8 sentences. If you post with little effort, you're going to force the moderators to reward accordingly.
Keep this in mind the next time you put up a subplot post.
Thanks a lot,
-Tokki

i have a question do you guys give out level or do we do that according to the game because the stradegy guild says how it gives out the levels in the real game also because if we are exploring a dungeon where we know that we will need to level up to beat its nice when we actually level up in the field not after we get out of the field
Wren - September 29, 2003 05:19 AM (GMT)
Ryu, simply Don't fight monsters you'd have to have higher levels to beat. You control who you meet in terms of enemies and their numbers. If you're level one, it's okay to still be fighting 1 or 2 Goblins by the bottom of a dungeon. The mod's aren't going to check the game and say "Oh, you're supposed to be fighting Sky Fish. Sorry, no level for you!!! "
Just look at other low-level examples and follow suit. You're too hooked on how the Video Game works, and not looking past it to see how the forum works. I do believe somewhere it's stated that DIVERGENCE is supposed to follow the feel of SIGN more than it is INFECTION. So just relax and start a quest. It needn't be perfect.
Rayo - October 6, 2003 01:46 PM (GMT)
As far as who you can pm, feel free to pm me to reward quests or you may pm Wren as well now.
Wren - October 6, 2003 04:25 PM (GMT)
Yes, thanks to Rayo's good graces and his trust in my judgement, I am now the second active rewarding mod (only for a trial period, I assme). :D
Arigatou! ^_^

Do you have to do dungeons with a party or can you just do them by yourself. And if so do you still get the normal prizes or do they decrease or increase.
Arcion - October 17, 2003 04:18 AM (GMT)
Solo, pair, group, it doesn't matter to your prizes. Prizes are based on your ability to post well. If your companions don't, they won't bring you down.
scropion189 - October 17, 2003 04:21 AM (GMT)
okay cool thanks. seems simple enough
scropion189 - October 17, 2003 05:32 AM (GMT)
if you put you reach the Gott Statue do you put what you want or do we pm wren for a reward on reaching it and gating out after leaving the dungeon.
Gojira - October 17, 2003 06:29 AM (GMT)
When you reach the Gott Statue, your quest basically ends. You can add in a little bit about you gating out and returning to town if you want.
And to answer your other question, no you can not decide on what you want. The moderators will reward you accordingly after reading your posts and judging their quality.
scropion189 - October 17, 2003 06:37 AM (GMT)
Sparda - October 22, 2003 03:23 AM (GMT)
Just remember, if you do want a specific item/weapon/armor, then you must add whatever it is you want under the topic description. However, don't ask for more than one thing, and if you are requesting any particular reward, you must post exceptionally well.
Wren - October 22, 2003 03:35 AM (GMT)
Actually, Sparda. I'd have to contradict you there. The only way you'll get a certain thing from the Gott, assuming you post well enough, is if the field you go to is storing a rare bit of equipment or something. Like if for some reason you wanted the Chinese Food, you would have to go to that field, say in the Description that the Chinese Food is there, then post well enough to acquire it when you get to the end.
Of course, if you have some sort of silly "wish list" or w/e in your signature, as some people tend to have, you may get stuff out of that if you post REALLY REALLY well, and Rayo or I are feeling generous. That doesn't usually happen, though. ^_^
scropion189 - October 25, 2003 06:25 PM (GMT)
can you post during a dungeon adventure that you gain a level and keep that level if so.
Rayo - October 25, 2003 07:23 PM (GMT)
If someone posts in their quest they gained a lv., they will regret it. Then, even if it deserved a lv., I'm not going to give one because they cheated.
scropion189 - October 25, 2003 07:31 PM (GMT)
okay thanks. That will really help with my dungeon adventure.
Stryker - October 25, 2003 09:34 PM (GMT)
Is there a three person limit to our groups?
Rayo - October 25, 2003 09:46 PM (GMT)
No. If someone wanted, they could have a 50 person group.
Ichida - December 24, 2003 09:25 PM (GMT)
I dream of the day when I will be part of the biggest party in history. :P
Anthony - December 24, 2003 09:27 PM (GMT)
Yo Ichida this is 2 months old....
Anyways I doubt there could be a 50 person group! Except in clan quest of coarse!
Ichida - December 24, 2003 09:30 PM (GMT)
Aeneas - February 25, 2004 05:08 PM (GMT)
Does only one person in any given party receive the Gott statue reward, hence the best item in the dungeon? Or rather is each party member individually rewarded solely based on posting ability?
Wren - February 25, 2004 05:17 PM (GMT)
No. Each player is rewarded based on their contribution to the quest and their writing skills that were demonstrated within the quest itself.
Rykon - March 4, 2004 01:42 AM (GMT)
Are you going to hold events like a treasure hunt, tourney, or special quest? If so will there be certain privalages rewarded?
Ichida - March 4, 2004 01:45 AM (GMT)
They have been holding special quests, like the Thanksgiving Turkey Hunt and the Winter Penguin Hunt, and usually rare items are rewarded.
Rykon - March 4, 2004 02:11 AM (GMT)
Thats pretty cool(lol), but aren't there main plot events?and like the one sin event Balmung and Orca completed and if so are there character alteration abilities
Rayo - March 4, 2004 02:40 AM (GMT)
Just note you said main plot. There is a main plot here and if you're not in the main plot, you don't really need to worry about the main plot rewarding system. It tends to give much more though. All events you can partake in would be labeled subplot ones.
black_master_twilight - May 24, 2004 01:45 PM (GMT)
Can you please activate my account? :D
black_master_twilight - May 24, 2004 01:46 PM (GMT)
:( I've been waiting for two days!
black_master_twilight - May 24, 2004 01:48 PM (GMT)
Oooooooooooops I'm sorry hi nice to meet you! :D
Miho - August 31, 2004 07:33 PM (GMT)
I'm in Mac Anu talking to a player right now, but I want to do a few solo missions before I join a party. So can I still talk to them and be on a solo mission, or do I have to wait till we're done with that thread?

Well, you can talk in the BBS and a quest if you explain how your doing it. Like if it's before or after the current quest.
Rayo - December 24, 2004 04:09 AM (GMT)
I'd like to make an official note on the books that have been released in the past month or so on Divergence.
Books like Water Magic and Black Magic are stat affecting books. To gain the effect, you need to equip them to your character. Since its not a one time use item here, you aren't stuck with it after you use it sort of thing. This is an item that can be traded or loaned just as easily as any equipment can be.
Any limits on how many book type items may be equipped to one character will be set in the future if it ever becomes an issue.
Ashura - March 30, 2005 10:43 PM (GMT)
I have to ask, how do you gain those books, and are their books that affect the parameters of the players attack.

The books are gotten through good quests and/or special events. They, from what I've seen, increase the player's elemental power.

I came upon this and i have a question, with what this person, could I continue posting until i have explored the dungeon and opened all portals and have it increase my reward?

What about going on two quests at a time?

That's a no. You see, quests all happen in character, so going on two quests at once is outruled by the logic that a person cannot be in two places at once (I only know because I tried it once).
