Title: Contemplating...

Jester - January 9, 2006 07:16 PM (GMT)
I am thinking about leaving Divvy, as I can't get on it anymore. Whoever I bought my computer from must have been a member on here before, and been banned. Because no matter how many times I try, I can't get in. I am on at school right now. Does anyone know any members that lived in the Clarksville, TN area? I could search for them in the member directory, but that would take forever...

That seems very, very odd. if you're on AOL, then there's a chance it's a rotating IP deal. I know of quite a few people in that area, though none who were banned. The easiest thing you could do, though it'd be a bit complicated still, is go to some site where you can read your own IP address (tinypic.com would be a good one, displays your IP but has nothing bad), and Email it to one of us admins. You could get me at Lyra at Allpoetry dot com (don't you love how fear of bots has led us to spell out things that were short for convenience?). We can then remove that IP from the ban list.

Thing is, your computer itself has little to do with the IP. I can take my laptop different places, and my IP is different depending on where it's plugged in... it's genorated as a combination of the ISP you plug into and your computer. Most likely either your computer has locked out Divergence for some reason (check your internet settings such as allowed pages and parental controls), or your IP was set to that by random chance.

The question to be asked is what do you mean by "can't get in"? Do you mean you actually get an invisionfree message/error that says you do not have permission, etc? If so, copy down the message/error and post it. Or...do you mean that maybe you log in and when the page loads you're not logged in?

Oh, Lyra was right. I asked my dad. He put a block on the site for some reason, and refuses to remove it. Guess this is goodbye ya'll :(

*hugs*

I'll still see you around Fragment right?

Yeah, hopefully. I can still get on here on the weekend at my mom's house, but that is only for a day or two. That is where I am now. Although that is not giving Divvy the attention it deserves. I may pop in every now and then to talk in the General Discussion, but that is all. I can't get a quest going if I am only here for a day each week.

Actually, inacivity and not posting hasn't stopped some of the best quests out there *cough* TotC *cough*

You can probably still quest. Just find some people who won't mind it and you should be fine. Of course, you could always solo, since you don't need a set time to post there.

Yeah I could, but I also have alot going on in my life right now. Maybe I will be back to questing in spring. I'll go on a hunger strike to remove the parental block :P I will hang around for card duels though, and chatting. I can't pull myself away from those :D

Anyway, I am not trying to make this an pity me thread. So cut it out :P
