Title: a whole string of announcements

Rayo - November 12, 2005 10:55 PM (GMT)
Since we've been working on different issues this week, here are some things that have already changed.

SP

SP formulas have been redone, so this will be especially important for dueling. Do note though, this won't affect any duels already in progress.

New SP formulas:
light: 35 +(level gained *6)
medium: 20 +(level gained *5)
heavy: 10 +(level gained *4)

HP

We've decided to more or less officially use the HP formulas already derived by Shugo and Strato.
HP formulas added:
Thanks to Shugotenshi and Strato
Wavemaster, Archer, Whipmaster:
55+(level gained *15)
Twin Blade, Fist Fighter:
63+(level gained *18)
Heavy Blade, Blademaster, Long Arm:
70+(level gained *20)
Heavy Axe:
75+(level gained *25)

Regen/Curse

Continual HP/SP gains/losses have also been given some clear specifics:

New spell definitions:
Rig Gaem
Effect is neverending within duels.
1. Negates Curse status effect and returns player's SP gain back to normal.
2. Adds a gain of that class's "gain amount" on each of that player's turns in addition to the duel's standard per turn gain.

Rig Saem
Effect lasts 10 turn cycles
1. Negates Poison status effect, resulting in standard "zero gain" state.
2. Adds 10% of the total HP, rounded to the nearest whole number, to the player's HP each turn cycle.

New status effect definitions
Curse
Effect lasts 5 turn cycles
1. Negates Rig Gaem and returns player's SP gain back to normal.
2. Subtracts a loss of that class's "gain amount" minus two on each of that player's turns.

Poison
Effect lasts 5 turn cycles
1. Negates Rig Saem, resulting in standard "zero gain" state.
2. Subtracts 10% of the total HP, rounded to the nearest whole number, from the player's HP each turn cycle.

TCG Shop

Lighteria is back from his hiatus, so card transactions should be proceeding again.

Specialty Classes: Fist Fighter, Whipmaster, Archer

The skills and weapons have gotten a major overhaul, you can check the specific alterations in NISDIP. This is highly important as some skills and weapons you have may not even exist anymore. (or at least are drastically changed)

Pawn Shop

The Pawn Shop is going through some reorganization, and should have a boost in activity.

DCS

The teams either are or will be moving by the end of this weekend, after getting over some technical difficulties that have delayed the event. I strongly suggest that participants check back in with their threads, teammates, and GMs so the event doesn't get strangled by people not realizing activity is back up again.

Ok so. If I'm a level 2 Long Arm I have 110 Hp and 30 Sp right? If I'm not allowed to post in here I will delete this.

Lyra - November 13, 2005 02:02 AM (GMT)
Your calculations are correct.

For another example, my new SP is 90 (ouch) and my HP is 470, as a level 21 HeavyBlade.

Keep in mind that we won't be tracking exact HP still in duels, as we don't want to make the damage number based. It'll be up to your own preferences whether you track it by putting an HP gauge in your post or saying that you're "around half HP" or so on within your posts. The numbers were only adopted to simplify comparisons between the classes and the use of Regen/Curse. Also, the changes in formulas only effect duels and quests starting after today.

lugiablaster - November 13, 2005 05:14 AM (GMT)
50 Sp... I feel like crying... But that aside, is the normal duel regen 1 per post or 4(heavy class) per post?

Satoshi - November 13, 2005 07:48 AM (GMT)
Ok cool. Thanks for the info Lyra.

^_^

Rayo - November 13, 2005 08:37 AM (GMT)
Normal regening is the same as always. The only thing that changed there was regening that is caused by spells.

Lighteria - November 13, 2005 10:25 AM (GMT)
Yeah... sorry for the hiatus everyone, especially those who were waiting for me to register them for the card game.

I've been a lousy card handler >_<;

Shugotenshi - November 14, 2005 10:56 PM (GMT)
crap, now i gotta change my formula program :(

Kiara - November 19, 2005 07:21 AM (GMT)
This is going to seem like a lemming question, but blademasters are in the heavy classes, right? I'm just guessing since they're lumped with the heavy blades in....one of those formulas.

*just barely found this one out as well*

Yeah, we are.

Xantos - January 23, 2006 03:17 PM (GMT)
I figure this goes here, since this is announcing the new formulas, and most people would see it easier here, although if it goes better in Q&C, feel free to move it.
-------
I have a question about the new Rig Gaem. The new effect states that it regens the normal amount plus the "gain amount". What exactly is the "Gain amount"? Is it the amount you gain per level up? In my case 6 because of the new formulas?

QUOTE

light: 35 +(level gained *6)
medium: 20 +(level gained *5)
heavy: 10 +(level gained *4)

Assuming the gain amount is, in fact, the amount gained on level up, if I was in a 2 person duel, me and someone else, I have Rig Gaem up, they post, and then I post... I would gain 1+1+6=8 SP? Provided I wasn't at max, of course. Right?

lugiablaster - January 23, 2006 05:14 PM (GMT)
No, you get the amount for every turn, so 6 for every turn... so... that's a lot <.>

Xantos - January 23, 2006 07:30 PM (GMT)
So let me get this straight. Assuming we're using the previous two person duel, I'd get 1 for every post since my last, including mine (2), plus 6 (class level gain) for my turn, and 6 for their turn too? o.O Tha'd be 14 SP per round, which seems like an awful lot.

QUOTE
Adds a gain of that class's "gain amount" on each of that player's turns in addition to the duel's standard per turn gain.

:O This kinda makes me think it's just my turn that I get the effects of Rig Gaem, but I could be wrong.

Lyra - January 23, 2006 08:12 PM (GMT)
Xantos is right. The additional is only on that player's turn, not on anyone else's. A two player duel would produce 8 for a light class. This is primarily to prevent free-for-alls from becoming an instant SP return.

lugiablaster - January 23, 2006 10:59 PM (GMT)
Hrm... *shrugs* Still think the SP system's crap, but who am I to judge <.<;;

Xantos - January 24, 2006 01:13 AM (GMT)
Ah. So I was right. Okay, thanks for clearing that up. :D Wow. That's still a huge gain, but hey, I'm not complaining. >:D
