“Mom, I’m getting online!” called 12 year old middle school student Hisama Iruto. “Kay, honey, don’t be on too long!” Hisama walked in to her room, closing the door behind her. She sat at her computer, and switched it on, the red light indicating the computer was loading.
While she waited, she opened a case that had the words “The World” imprinted on front. She took out the software as the computer finished loading. Hisama stuck the disk in the hard drive, closing it. The young girl clicked on the link that said “The World” Setup.
It opened up a page. She smiled. “Here we go.” Hisama clicked on the “register” link to register for “The World”.

“The World” is an MMORPG. A Massive Multi-Player Online Role-Playing Game. It was released in the year 2007.
Pluto’s Kiss. A virus that shut down the whole Web. For 72 minutes, planes crashed, people were stuck in traffic, power lines were down, and the world was almost launched into a nuclear holocaust.
In the year 2006, The World Network Council, on the anniversary of the Pluto’s Kiss event, released an OS that proved to be resistant against the virus. A few years later, the online game “The World” was released by CC Corp. It was the first online game to allow players to exist simultaneously in the same world.
