Vahn Iceblade - July 13, 2005 03:50 PM (GMT)
Andrew had not been sleeping well recently. Ever since that first night that Vahn had come to him in his dreams, Andrew had lost sleep, sometimes with more dreams, sometimes just from thinking about the previous night's dream. He talked long into the night with Vahn, then woke around 4 in the morning and coudn't go back to sleep.

"Damnmit all!" he cursed, getting up and going over to the computer. Turning on the monitor and speakers, he brought up his jukebox and indescriminately hit play, not caring what song was next.

Andrew booted up the Altimit page on his desktop next, slipping the neuro-goggles over his head as the music filled his ears and lightened not only his mood, but his soul. He logged in to the world, and then he was Vahn, with Vahn's abilities and Vahn's problems.

*******

Vahn had a flashmail from Taro asking him to meet him at some field in.. 3 hours time. Vahn knew he was early, so he strolled around the streets of Mac Anu, killing about an hour and a half of that time.

Eh.. I guess I should get going.. want to scope out the field before he gets there.

Vahn rose from where he had ended up, sitting on the shores of the Mac Anu, the very same river he had been in a few days earlier. Walking over to the Chaos Gate, Vahn entered the field that Taro had given him and warped to it.

*******

It was raining. That was the first thing that Vahn noticed. The second was that this was unlike any field he had seen before. He was standing on top of a tall tower, statues all around, and no apparent way down. Sighing heavily, Vahn climbed up onto the back of 1 of the statues that lined the perimeter of the tower, tucking his wings in and becoming one with the night. His eyes glowed a sharp icy blue and he perched there, waiting for Taro to arrive, and cursing the gods who had seen fit to rain on him again.

Loki - July 13, 2005 04:16 PM (GMT)
Luke woke up to see his friend Jessie sleeping in the chair while he had slept on the couch. Luke frowned as he thought back to the incident last night of Jessie keeping him up until 5:45 in the morning. Jessie was still snoring with his mouth open as Luke gave a smirk. "I think I can shut you up and get payback at the same time. Heh heh." Luke then took a sock out of the dirty clothes basket and put it in Jessie's mouth. Jessie just groaned and rolled to his side. Luke smirked and said, "That should knock you out a while longer. Now it's time to play."

Luke walked over to his computer and turned it on. He inserted the disc titled "The World" and clicked on the icon titled the same. Luke then read an email from Ko Inuyasha that said: "I would like to have a two on two duel. Me and you against Taro and Vahn Iceblade. All four of us will meet in Mac Anu." Luke smirked and said, "This should be interesting." He then slipped on his VR goggles and selected "ENTER THE WORLD". Another screen came up for Luke to log-in.

Luke was now his other self, Sesshomaru. Sesshomaru frowned and said, "I hope that this will be a battle worthy of my time." He then began to walk to the Chaos Gate. 'This is strange. At once Taro and I were allies, now we will be enemies for this battle. And once Inuyasha and I fought each other like wild animals and now we are on a team. Fate works in so many strange ways,' Sesshomaru thought to himself as he went to the designated area of battle.

As Sesshomaru arrived, he saw that it was pouring down rain. He stood atop of a giant tower with a character named Vahn Iceblade a couple of feet away from him. Sesshomaru looked at his opponent and said, "The mood of this battle is quite dramatic, wouldn't you say? Let us wait for our teammates before we begin." Sesshomaru then frowned and closed his eyes. He tilted his head up to the sky as he thought of personal things about his past allience with Taro. 'Taro, I hope this will not change anything between us, my friend,' Sesshomaru thought to himself as the rain continued to land on him.

((OOC: Sorry, I had to edit due to Vahn's post and that I forgot to put my SP in the original post.))

Taro - July 13, 2005 08:02 PM (GMT)
As usual Taro was looking for spare change around the area of the Trading Post, when he scratched his head in an effort to remember something. I'm supposed to be somewhere right now...oh yeah the duel! Taro quickly abandons his current pusuit of monetary gain to rush to the dueling site.

As Taro made it to the site, he could see Sesshomaru calmly standing in the rain. "Well that's one opponent. I wonder where Vahn is?" asked Taro as he stood getting drenched in the rain. Taro sniffed the air questioningly. He's here, but where is he? It's kind of hard to see through all this rain in my face.

Taro shrugged it off as he went to the nearest statue and leaned against it. I hope Ko_Inuyahsa hurries up and gets here. I'm already tired of waiting!

Ko_Inuyasha - July 14, 2005 02:27 AM (GMT)
This was a great day for games. I had no work to attend to and social obligations to be bothered by. Best of all I have a planned event to kill off some players in "The World." After eating some waffles I sit down in my large black chair And log on to the game. A flash mail comes up from some of great importance of another matter. The thought of cancleing the fight is desperatly serious in my mind but I really shouldn't let theese guys down. I ring into Mac Anu and turn to the Chaos Gate behind me. "What were thoughs words again?...." The key words finally come to mind and I warp into the field.

I ring into a small black room with only one door leading out. Through the door way I can see the roof top and deadly storm. One thing only stands out; I can't see any one. I have to be on gaurd, the fight might have started already, I think to myself with alot of caution. I don't take the sword off of my back but I hold it tight with my right hand. I step onto the roof top and into a large puddle. Taro stands out leaning against one of the angel statues. On the other side of the field I notice my partner Sesshomaru. I'm glad to have a reliable partner like him. I've fought wiht him once befor so I know what to expect from him. It'll make it easier to work along side him after our long fight.

I also know what to expect from Taro. In our quest together I took many notes on his fighting abilities. He's strong and fast, matching me on every level. I know that his weakness lies in his need to protect his team mates. If I single out Vahn then he'll come running for an attack and be defencless. Speaking of Vahn; where is he. I partol around the field with my eyes as I make my way over to my partner. Nothing stands out, the storms makes almost everything past the face's statues completely black. Two saphire lights can be seen but I have no clue what they are and continue walking. "Yo," I raise my hand and look at Sesshomaru. "Long time no see. There's Taro, where's Vahn?" I leap onto the ledge with my butt and shake the extra water off of my feet. My sword make a splash and ripple across the roof as I rest my chin on it. "Like the hack? I can't wait til I have the power to use it right."

Loki - July 14, 2005 02:41 AM (GMT)
Sesshomaru listened to Ko Inuyasha as he continued to let the rain hit him. Sesshomaru frowned and said, "Can you not feel them? All of us have been gathered. The key to this battle is to use your surroundings and snses. For you, I suggest the use of the moonlight." Sesshomaru then turned to look around for everyone. He could barely see them in the pouring rain. Sesshomaru smirked and said, "This should be interesting."

Sesshomaru's smile then turned to its usual frown as he said loud enough for vereyone to hear despite the pouring rain, "If everyone is ready, Let us begin." Sesshomaru then charged towards Vahn Iceblade, whom he could barely see. Sesshomaru then shouted to Ko Inuyasha, "Inuyasha, you take Taro! I shall take Vahn!" Sesshomaru then used his legs to thrust towrds Vahn Iceblade. Sesshomaru spun his blades and attempted a stab towards Vahn. "Let's see how good your senses are, Vahn," Sesshomaru yelled as his blade neared Vahn's flesh. "I shal enjoy this shower of blood and rain," Sesshomaru said, hoping that his blades would connect or at least graze Vahn's flesh.

Ko_Inuyasha - July 14, 2005 02:59 AM (GMT)
"So, we're matching up against our counter parts," I leap down from the ledge and hold my sword on my shoulder. "We can finish what we started in the figment quest! I've wanted to fight you ever since I meet you Taro." I crouch down to a horse foot stance and hold my blade by the dull side with my left hand. I raise the hilt in my right hand about four inches above my head and lean my cheek against the blade.

When he grabbed me by the hair back then, he was insulting me not as a player but as a person in general. I'll make him take redemtion with the pain of defeat. This move was ment for him back then and it will find it's mark now. "Come Taro," I scream out in building fury, "show what strength the Figment Raiders have given you!" I leap into the fight with all the strength of my legs. My body moves but my sword is kept in the exact same position it started in. I've lost focus on Sesshomaru and Vahn, a bad mistake. The force of my sprint causes a large raise in the water behind me, the splash might disrupt Sesshomaru. I've grown too tunnle visioned on Taro to hold back in power now. We're both heavy blades so I know that this will not be a contest in tact like my previous fights. I'll mow him down with all the strength my breath can give.

Vahn Iceblade - July 14, 2005 04:50 AM (GMT)
Vahn perched there, on the gargoyle statue, watching the other participants of this morning's fiasco arrive 1 by 1. No one noticed his dark form where it sat, cloaked in darkness. There was some talking, and Vahn was kind of startled when the one called Sesshomeru spoke out and said "The mood of this battle is quite dramatic, wouldn't you say? Let us wait for our teammates before we begin." Vahn still didn't move or make a sound, however, and it became obvious a few moments later that Sesshomeru was full of crap.

What's this idiot doing?

I have no idea, but it is quite amusing to watch.

Vahn watched Sesshomeru attacking the darkness a few pillars away from where he was perched.

Let us put him out of his misery, agreed?

Agreed!

With that, Vahn activated the other part of his hack, and suddenly the area was awash in a soft blue glow. As the fires danced across his form, Vahn slowly stood up on the back of the gargoyle, stretching his wings to their fullest extent, the blue glow accenting the gold and giving it a glimmer in the nighttime sky.

Before anyone could react, Vahn launched himself high into the night sky, his frame twisting and turning in the blue ocean of stars as he unsheathed his appropriatly named Phantom Blades and started plummeting to the tower below, folding his wings around him tight, a buffer from the wind, and dove toward Inuyasha, the word "Staccato" leaving his lips a few seconds before the intended victim, who still conveniently was focused on Taro.

This worked on Starr (however unfortunate that had been), it should work on him too.

Taro - July 14, 2005 05:18 AM (GMT)
Taro stood firm as he watched Ko_Inuyasha rush towards him. Well I guess this means he's still a bit mad about what I did to him during the recruitment. thought

Taro calmly as he contiued to watch his opponent rush towards him. "Ko, you need to calm down a bit. Mellow out, because your anger won't help you when I'm slamming my blade into your body!" yelled Taro. As Taro was about to begin his charge he noticed his teammate's sudden attack on Ko_Inuyasha.

Taro smiled as he resumed his charge towards Ko. He flinched as the rainwater began hitting him directly in the face. He could feel the floor slightly slipping from under him as he ran. This will be a fun little battle. thought Taro as he neared his opponent. He couldn't see where Sesshomaru was through all the rain, but Taro hoped he wouldn't stay out of sight for long.

"Okay Ko, Taro's school of fighting is in session! Here's your first lesson!" yelled Taro as he swung at Ko.

Ko_Inuyasha - July 14, 2005 08:19 PM (GMT)
As I moved in on Taro, he resoponds by charging at me. I'm tunnel visioned on him but I notice a shadow moving across the rippling pool beneath me. The reflection appears as a twisted cloak caught in the storm. From the cloak a dagger on each side protrudes. Above me I hear, "Staccatos!"

There's no way Sesshomaru could've finished Vahn off that quick. They're boxing me in The words pass in seconds and I know what I have to do. I know because this is what I wanted to do to Taro. It's like my own plan is used against me. I'm conscious of my surroundings now, and am judging their speeds and distances. I slow my own speed down gradually to make it so they meet me at the same time. I feel my way about the approaching mystery Vahn; the muscles on my back tense up as he gets near and I can hear his wizzing blades. Taro too grows near, close enough to take a swing at me while babbling something about school. I'm to focused on calculations to pay attention to his mockery.

I turn my stepping right foot to it's side and make a short skid of a stop. Taro's so close now that the small wave moves over his shins. I smirk and scream out, "Calamity!" The first, horizontal, attack of calamity smacks into Taro's blade. I hear the blades collide but since our blades are the same length I don't know if I did any damage. Vahn on the other hand is in mid-air and has no where to go but into my flipping blade. The second, vertical, attack of calamity moves the blade infront of my face. I hear Vahn's spinning daggers smack into my large sword but I don't know if I broke threw his attack and hit him. My attack finishes and I land behind Taro. I don't take the time to follow up my attack. Instead I leap away from the fray to access what damage I've done.

Vahn Iceblade - July 15, 2005 03:52 PM (GMT)
I am quitting this duel. I can no longer abide the blatant cheating that has been going on. Ko and Loki do not seem to listen to anything we have done in our posts (or at least mine). Case in point:

QUOTE
Sighing heavily, Vahn climbed up onto the back of 1 of the statues that lined the perimeter of the tower, tucking his wings in and becoming one with the night. His eyes glowed a sharp icy blue and he perched there, waiting for Taro to arrive, and cursing the gods who had seen fit to rain on him again.

I was clearly perched there, on the back of a gargoyle on the edge of the platform, nearly invisible, the only part that could possibly be seen is his eyes, that were gloing in the night sky. However Loki acted like it was daytime, I was standing there in the middle of the tower.

QUOTE
As Sesshomaru arrived, he saw that it was pouring down rain. He stood atop of a giant tower with a character named Vahn Iceblade a couple of feet away from him.

That was the first thing I noticed, but I decided to let that slide, hoping that it was a simple mistake. The second thing that got my attention, although I chose to let it slide as well, allowing Taro to convince me that it would be better to just beat you at your own game and then be able to gloat, was the blatant disregard for the posting order. It was all good, Me, then Loki, then Taro, then Ko. But after Ko posted the first time Loki posted again, out of order, and then Ko followed. Taro and I were forced to follow suit.

But as I said, I chose to ignore that too, as it is not that big a deal, and Taro wanted to continue.

By the time Ko could have noticed my attack, the way I had written it, it would have been too late to do anything but dive out of the way. I am used to dice based games, and he would have needed an 18 or 19 on a d20 to pull off his stunt. I was coming at almost a 180 degree angle to him, so it would have made it almost impossible to see me until I was almost on top of him, because, by his words,

QUOTE
I've lost focus on Sesshomaru and Vahn, a bad mistake. The force of my sprint causes a large raise in the water behind me, the splash might disrupt Sesshomaru. I've grown too tunnle visioned on Taro to hold back in power now. We're both heavy blades so I know that this will not be a contest in tact like my previous fights. As you can see, I did not speak until I was mere feet above him, even then it was in a whisper, and he was still focused on Taro. With that setup, there is no way he could have done anything but throw himself out of the way.

I have PM'ed a Mod and asked him to look at this thread, just so you know. I do not plan on counting this as a win or a loss.

Thank you,
Vahn -mun

Ok...>.>

Violations:

1. Team Ko and Loki blatantly broke the posting order
2. Team Ko and Loki disregard oponent's positions and actions

Team Ko and Loki, care to explain?

Loki - July 15, 2005 05:38 PM (GMT)
Well, my mistake was as Vahn mentioned, it was just a simple mistake that I did not notice. And I sincerly apologize for breaking the posting order. It was a complete accident. Please forgive me. All the things I did were simply unintentional mistakes. The only thing that happened was Vahn dodged my attack and then prepared an attack towards Ko. Other than the errors I mentioned above, There was the subject of Vahn and Taro whispering and I did not enter that in my post. All of my mistakes were unintentional. Please forgive me. *Bows for forgiveness* Cypher, this isn't going to get me deleted, is it?

The_End_Cypher - July 15, 2005 11:43 PM (GMT)
No man, it won't. It's up to the other team to decide whether to continue or not. If the duel goes on, however, team Loki-Ko is already loosing points.

Ko_Inuyasha - July 16, 2005 02:34 AM (GMT)
Perhaps my wording was wrong in my post about parring your's and Taro's attacks. I was mainly refering to the way I think, as such my character would think the same way; fast!

I didn't see you above me, I didn't see you at all. As the quote you pulled says, I saw your reflection off of the water covered roof. You make yourself out so dark and cloaking in with the night that your movement would have been obviously out of place. You also don't whisper theese attacks, they get called out.

Yes, a normal movement would've been to slow to react to your surprise attack but I used a spell move, which is faster then our normal abilities. At least that's what I thought seperated me drawing my sword quickly and using Hayabusa; more speed and more power.

Please don't make referance to a die again, if we're ment to be rolling dice then they'de have a dice stat sheet for us to judge off of. This isn't about a set of stats to see who's right, it's about judgment on what our characters abilites are.
Like Rayo told me, we have the points but you have to judge off of them. If you have a book then you have a higher stat on that atribute. I'm a heavy blade so I'm stronger, you're a twin blade so you're faster. I've got more then enough strength to knock away one of your attacks, especially with one of my spell attacks.

What posting order?! We never agreed on any posting order! That's the whole point on why I wanted a four way fight. I didn't want a posting order so I wasting time waiting for someone else to post.

<edit away smart ass remark> No place for that sorry..

To Cypher: I feel that this shouldn't be graded due to Vahn's early departure. It's not fair to grade before everyone wants to end. My explination is above but to you a less disrespectful tone.

The_End_Cypher - July 16, 2005 11:53 PM (GMT)
Interesting points. I won't consider it a win or loss to anyone.

Do you guys still wanna go on?

Ko_Inuyasha - July 17, 2005 01:36 AM (GMT)
I want to but like you said it's up to the opponents. Vahn seems to have quit so Taro will need a new partner. I suggest that if Taro still wants to continue that an exit post should be made for Vahn and Taro should make a post flash mailing an allie to replace the griffon.

Loki - July 18, 2005 06:00 PM (GMT)
I would like to continue the duel as well. But as Inuyasha said, that is up to our opponents. I promise if the opponents agrree to continue, I will pay more attention to mistakes I post. And I'm quite sure that Inuyasha will pay attention as well. Taro, Vahn, please continue this duel.

Taro - July 19, 2005 04:12 PM (GMT)
I don't have a problem with going on. I just wanted to kick some butt! I'm here for fun.

The_End_Cypher - July 20, 2005 12:53 AM (GMT)
If Vahn posts a 'yes' to continue, then I'll delete all this discussion and have the duel continue.

Vahn Iceblade - July 20, 2005 02:37 PM (GMT)
Sorry guys, but I am out. I have no reason to trust that you will not pull another stunt like this, Ko. Theres more to it than that, but I do not want to get into a long debate about dice and fairness of attacks hitting and missing. Suffice it to say that I do not trust any of my attacks to actually hit Ko short of forcing them, which is illegal and I will not do that.

Loki, if you want to duel sometime, we can, just ask me.

Ko_Inuyasha - July 21, 2005 03:35 AM (GMT)
Well that settles that. Maybe some other time.

Taro - July 21, 2005 04:10 AM (GMT)
Yep. Maybe some other time. Well see you guys later! No hard feelings right?

Loki - July 21, 2005 04:24 AM (GMT)
Of course not.

The_End_Cypher - July 21, 2005 06:39 AM (GMT)
Hope we all learned from this...
