Title: The Essential 10: Movies

Enigma Zero - August 12, 2004 07:40 AM (GMT)
Through the various boards and such that have been or are part of my daily journies through cyberspace anime seems to always come up. I figured it was about time to share this with you all...;)

Alot of talk about alot of anime, but sereral people on several boards have put together what is called "The Essential 10". Consider these the gateway movies to get into the world of anime. It's what seperates the fans from the fanboys. Where do you stand?

(In no particular order)
1. Akira
2. Nausicaa of the valley of wind
3. Grave of The Fireflies
4. Vampire Hunter D (bonus points for it and Bloodlust)
5. Perfect Blue
6. Mononoke Hime (Princess Mononoke)
7. Castle of Cagliostro (Lupin Movie)
8. Spirited Away
9. Metropolis
10. Jin Roh: The Wolf Brigade

so...where do you stand?

not nearly so strong there...
I have seen or own numbers:4, 6, 8, 9. Not nearly as good as my shows list, 'eh?

Enigma Zero - August 12, 2004 07:46 AM (GMT)
No biggie. Half the fun of lists like this one is completing them. Lil tip though for anyone reading this thread...

If you watch Grave of The Fireflies then make certain you do so on a nice and sunny day when you are in a fairly good mood. This movie is Shindler's List horrific. There's a joke I use when baiting my friends into watching this movie and it has not failed me yet.

"I don't care how tough you think you are...EVERYONE cries in Grave of The Fireflies."

This movie is just that sad.

Ok, you were all warned. My work here is done. :D

oh, so NOW you realized you double posted... and you're the one always merging double posts... <_<.

Enigma Zero - August 12, 2004 07:53 AM (GMT)
Nope, I made two completely different and relevant posts. They both just had annoyingly similiar titles so I 'tweaked' them a lil so it was easier to keep them apart.

eh, I use the portal button, it's more useful, but doesn't let you see subtitles.
