So they made a movie version of DC: The New Frontier limited series by Darwyn Cooke. I've seen it and I liked it but they should've made it longer or at least into something like a mini series because they cut out a lot of stuff. Still an enjoyable experience.

How does it stack up to something like Ultimate Avengers or the JLU Series?

I found it better than the first Ultimate Avengers, haven't seen part 2. It really doesn't compare to JLU, here's why.

It is set in the 1950's, in the Era of the Korean War, McCarthyism, etc, and all there heroes are their 1950's counterparts. It has the origin of both Martian Manhunter, and Hal Jordan Green Lantern. It has golden age versions of Wonder Woman, Superman, and Batman. It is interesting as they are written as Golden Age versions too (ie Batman is ultra violent, Superman and Wonder Woman working for the US government). Wonder Woman rocks in this as they go back to the tough Amazonia who is confused by the world (the Invisible Jet even makes an appearance). They all team up to fight a being that is a danger to the Earth (Dinosaur Island as a sentient Island). It is also rated PG 13, mostly for blood, and a scene at the begining involving Hal Jordan.

Fun Stuff. Interesting retelling of the orginins of the JLA (even mentions dissolution of the JSA after WWII).

In a way, it almost Watchmen-esque through much of the begining, and even Hooded Justice makes a quick cameo, in a very appropriate way

Wasn't that Hourman not Hooded Justice?
