Title: Gundam Seed

Crystal Velvet - May 3, 2004 09:32 PM (GMT)
Does anyone on this board other than myself love Gundam? I haven't seen the entire series subbed, so I was very excited about the dub on CN (especially since the DVDs aren't available yet). Anyone watch the first three episodes? Anyone?

edit a little later on:

Well, I guess that's a no...

For those who may not be aware of the fact that Gundam SEED is airing during Toonami on Saturdays right before Inuyasha, please do check it out and let me know what you think of it!

To: Inuyasha Saotome - by the way, I remember that you liked Ame Agari from Angelic Layer, so may I suggest Annani isshodattanoni ? (it's track # 2 on the link below)

I watched and I liked it. It is much better than the versions of Gundam CN has put on in the past.

After evaluating the CN's latest offerinf I am happy to report that, as of this posting, they are not butchering Seed to pieces like they have with previous anime of the same style. A few of the voices are a tad off/annoying, but not nearly as bad as the CN version of .Hack//Sign.

Having seen Gundam:Seed in it's entirety I do have to admit it is one of the best incarnations of the series. It's characters are more believable than those in Wing and it's animation quality is top notch.

Oplasma45 - May 5, 2004 04:31 AM (GMT)
It's good, better than any other Gundam cartoons I have ever watched.

REsurvivor - May 31, 2004 08:18 AM (GMT)
do you have those gundam. puzzles. iv heard there really hard. i want to get one but i cant find a place where they sell them.

gymnast22 - June 2, 2004 10:25 PM (GMT)
I like that show. The animation is far better than most anmes that i've seen except for Rurouni Kenshin. The storyline is compelling, and it's far better than some of the previous Gundams that have come out recently.

If you're talking about the Gundam Model Kits, yes I do have one, but I haven't put it together yet. I bought mine from target, you have to look in the toy section near the action figures and cars and stuff. I've also seen them at Toys R Us. Specialty stores sell them, too, but they can be really overpriced. Hopefully that helps.

...

Regarding the series, it does seem to be progressing well. Once we get deeper into the story, I'll be a lot more excited. I enjoyed the attempt to dub Lacus' song. It sort of reminded me of some Project Ako songs ^_^

I look forward to phase 3 where, once again, the Earth Alliance will look on in stunned-silence during another Impulse Gattai sequence.

Destiny is definitely too good to miss.

night_kcrawler - April 16, 2005 06:25 AM (GMT)

Kenji - April 16, 2005 06:41 AM (GMT)
they will adult swim will air it

Oplasma45 - April 16, 2005 05:53 PM (GMT)
They will butcher the show, and then show it to be a little more kid friendly.

Kenji - April 16, 2005 08:04 PM (GMT)
i never get it why dont they just have a channel for all anime

Oplasma45 - April 16, 2005 09:47 PM (GMT)
They do, just get digital cable or satellite TV.

Kenji - April 16, 2005 09:52 PM (GMT)

At this point, I don't think they're trying to make Gundam "kid" friendly, but more "teen" friendly.

Of course, DVD is always the best route ;)

I'm rather confident that CN will pick up Destiny. I'd be surprised if they pitch it to Adult Swim, just because it's target audience is Teens & I don't think Bandai wants it to be labeled as "Adult" because it won't be good for the positioning of the Gundam model kit & toy line. Personally, I think the toy line would improve if we could get more merchandise based on the characters instead of the Gundams. Sure, hardcore Gundam fans love Zakus - I'd love one! But can we honestly expect the same from the mainstream fans? I think not...

*** Warning: Potential Spoiler Below ***

SEED has been edited quite a bit - but surprisingly enough, many of the deaths in the last few eps did get some actual air time. By moving it to the 1am timeslot, I think they have been able to get away with it just a bit.

Kenji - April 24, 2005 08:06 AM (GMT)
i do think they should make more toys of the charaters but i dont like zakus they are old and out dated

Crystal Velvet - April 24, 2005 08:15 AM (GMT)
LOL, well the Zaku emphasis was to make a point. Of course they are outdated, but they make Gundams like Freedom look that much better ;)

Kenji - April 24, 2005 08:17 AM (GMT)
 freedom would look great no matter what
