I was on this forum when I took a look at the current visitors to the board. I saw my name and another one: GoogleBot.

Now as there are no members called GoogleBot, what is it? Is it a robot sent by Google to destroy the forum? Hehe, just kidding. ;)

It's something that'll put the forum on the google search engine. It's just surveying the forum to see what it'd go under.

Is it automatic (I would think so)?

yeah i saw it too.. funny it doesnt show up as a guest, but as a user. but you cant click a link on it to see info about it.

If you take a look at the banner ad at the top of the page you can see that the bot did good work. All ads are about computers, many are about C/C++ programming.
