well i know this is a little early but when im finished with my deitel c++ book what should i get after that? i think a book on c++ for windows would be great but i dont know the names of any:-/

You're finished ... already? How long is it? I'm not using any books. I've gotten already quite far in win32 programming! Just can't keep up with Xception! Then again, he has many more years of experience (how old is he, anyways?). :)

oh im not finished with it allready im only on page 200 of about 1000 but at the rate im going it shouldent be more than a month and a half before im done with it

Teach Yourself Game Programming in 24 Hours published by Sams is great for n00bs to game and Win32 programming.

Have you tried game programing all in one by Bruno Miguel Teixeria de Sousda thats pretty good. i havent really used it yet though i just bought it and scimmed it seemed a bit complicated to start with c++ so im learning somthing else but its a good book

If you want to do windows GUI programming you should try programming windows by Charles Petzold. It explains everything in excruciating detail. :D
