Title: Interested in a visual form designer for Dev-C++?

Well, I am. And I didn't find a free one so I decided to make my own. You will be able to design your forms like with Visual Basic or Delphi and the program gives you a working C++ sourcecode. I started today so there's not much done now.

That sounds cool Xception. :)

Is there any thing you won't do to make life easier for us n00b's :P

Didn't you say that you have Visual C++? So it wouldn't make life any easier for you ;)
Anyway I wish you luck.

Umm... I have Visual C++ and it doesn't have visual form designer... If there is I haven't found it... :D

I thought that was why MS had called it Visual C++. Sorry I didn't know that.

I'm also always wondering why Visual C++ is called "Visual" C++.
OK, it has a resourceeditor with a visual Dialogbox designer. It's not the same as a Visual Form Designer, although you could use the dialogboxes as a mainwindow somehow, but I never used a resource in my projects. My Form Designer gives you a complete sourcecode of a win32 gui program with all controls created with the designer and not only a resourcefile with the properties of the controls.
And I'm still working at my Java Game Maker, not at them moment but I seriously want to finish that project.
Guess with what language I'm programming the Visual Form Designer!

Shadow of the Moon - June 29, 2003 08:17 PM (GMT)
C++ maybe :P

I think MS only calls it Visual C++ so they can lump it in MS Visual Studio.

So, which do you think you're going to finish first? This, or the Java Game Maker?

BTW: Sounds cool :)

Xception, this sounds really cool! What language are you making it in? C++? Just a guess!

Xception - June 30, 2003 04:02 PM (GMT)
I'm programming it with Delphi, would be a good exercise if I programmed it with C++ but with Delphi I can finish it faster.

How soon do you think you can complete it? I don't want to rush you or anything, but do you have an estimate?

Xception - July 1, 2003 09:42 PM (GMT)
I really don't know when it will be finished. At the moment it is able to create buttons and edit boxes which can be resized and moved and a text can be assigned.

Here's a screenshot:

It is now able to create buttons, editboxes, checkboxes, radiobuttons, listboxes, comboboxes and scrollbars.

Oh! Now I know why it is "visual" c++...

I'm practicing win 32 programming now and when I was making those Dialog boxes there actually was a visual designer! :D
