I have set up my own server using it but I don't have broadband so I only use it once in a while like for file sharing. I would like to find someone with Broadband that keeps there computer online all the time but haven't had much luck. Anyway I was wondering if anyone else here uses it?

I´m preparing my gentoo box for apache+MySQL + php, but even though i have 360k dl, i only have 16k ul :(
and I no longer trust on iis since it congests the network once someone tries to view one of my pages

heh... i host my site off my comp and i only have dsl. My comp is usually on 24/7 but sometims my bro turns it off just to piss me off

I know that many host there sites on there computer using DSL. I was wondering what Profesional hosting companys use?

Ya it would, but the highest connection they have in my area is Cable.

If only T1 weren't so uber expensive. Plus, there's no lines outside the major cities. :(
I'm planning to set up a linux/apache/php/mySQL server soon, but I don't have the extra cash right now.
