i wish to begin learning programing in windows. I have 2 books at home 1 which is about driectx and one which is game programming both use windows functions but dont explain them so if anyone knows of a good book or website which will help me out id really liek to know thanks in advance.
so thats all C++ compatible? or are there some things which are different for C++

C++ compatible? I prefer the word portable... but some compilers are quite different among them... I suggest you read a good book, see our FAQ, to view the ANSI|ISO C++ syntax...
API is another thing. ^^
