I was just trying to install DX9.0c, but near the end I get the error
QUOTE ("prompt @ windo thing")
A cabinet file necesary for installation cannot be trusted.

has this happened to any of you, and how to I fix this, with out reloading? Please, I want to play UT2K4 again :(.

If you've got XP/SP2 installed try switching off the "security" center (in the control panel).

I looked, and I didn't see it, would it make a difference where it is in XPpro, because I did find something called 'Local Security Settings' under administrative tools. Could that be it, if not then I probably haven't went up so SP2 yet. I haven't ran windows update since....well ever.

in Start > programs> accessories > system tools > Security centre

click on it and turn of the firewall, antivirus and tha tthird option I cant remember, install DX9 and then turn the stuff back on
