hey i need some -socket codes for JAVA, PERL, and C/C++- thanks, just need to know how to open them and then send data to and from a computer, like chat ftp and telnet

Directly using WinSock is kinda tedious, so I would reccomend using a wrapper like DirectPlay. But if you want just search for WinSock on sf.net.

I never did try WinSocket, can you use it with what comes with the compiler? Dev 4.5 C++

i dont know about that but u can with dev c++ 4.8.9 or whatever the latest version is.
