I have a question regarding registry restore. Does restoring the registry ONLY restore the registry or does it also change the computer back to the state it was at before (example: if a program is installed and I restore the registry, would that program be uninstalled or affected in any way?)?

If the program uses the registry it might be affected but it would not be uninstalled. To check if it would be affected badly you could go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE->Software and look for the program's entries.

Why do you want to restore the registry?

say u get a virus. restoring the registry may kill its auto run but if the virus has infected other files it wont cure your computer.
