Phil pulled James into his room, forcing him to sit down on the bed. What the hell were you thinking? He asked.

James tried to stand up but was pushed back down by Phil. I wasn't. That's the problem. He mumbled.

gwen watched them with interest, what did he do exactly? gwen asked in her natural soft spoken voice. though she knew him and mel had, had a fight she hadn't heard what he had said to upset her so much.

James looked at his feet ashamed with himself.

When he saw that James wasn't going to answer Phil did. He told Mel that he was 'done' with her. Now she's gone home because she's so upset. He turned to James again. She's never been this upset before. You're lucky I don't let Lucas loose on you. He added to his friend.

he wants to....he's trying to get kristy to let him have a go with you.... gwen explained as she looked at her brother. why would you say something like that to mel? she asked with a frown.

Because I'm so sick of how she acts, and because I'm an absolute idiot. He explained, still not meeting her eyes.

she acts the ways she does, because she's being herself. thats why you love her so much, and how could you say you're done with her? no wonder she's upset! you know how insecure she's been since blake! he treated her like crap and she's always been scared she would get hurt again and you went and hurt like that.... she shook her head at him with a disappointed frown.

I know Gwen...I know. He said quietly.

Well, now you have to think of a way to make it up to her. Without her knowing that its you. Phil told him simply.

Why can't she know it's me? James asked, finally looking up for the first time.

Because if she knows its you, then she's just going to ignore everything you do because it hurts her too much. Phil explained.

so what're you gonna do....? gwen asked with her arms crossed and a brow raised.

James shrugged. I dunno. You're a girl, what would you want to get from a 'secret admirer'? He asked her.

gwen looked slightly taken aback as he asked her the question as she didn't really know. she had never really thought of things like that. i don't know....

Surely you must have some idea. If you could get anything at all from a secret admirer, what would it be? Phil asked her.

gwen shrugged, i don't know...something they figured i would like.... she said with a frown. she wasn't all that used to not knowing answers to quesitons people asked her. especially one as seemingly easy as this one.

What about her favourite flower? James suggested.

Maybe it should be something more personal, something more original. He suggested.

James thought for a minute. I could write her a song. Just send her the lyrics. He suggested.

you don't know how to write songs.... gwen pointed out to him with a frown.

Well what do you suggest then? Because I really, really need to fix this and I have no idea how to. He asked her, starting to get desperate.

i don't know....i honestly don't think you can fix it at the moment.... she said seriously. not now anyway. it would be too soon.

I can't believe I said it. I've hurt her more then she's ever been hurt before. Not even Blake hurt her this much. He said quietly.

yeah we know you have....and she knows you have....and yeah phil why can't we just let lucas have a go at him? james probably even feels he deserves it...? she asked as she looked at phil.

And what good would letting Lucas have a go at him do? He asked. I don't think we should be letting Lucas have a chance of losing his temper while dad and Sam are around. He pointed out.

better here then at school where the two can get in trouble for it.... she shrugged.

At school Mel is there to stop Lucas. I still don't completely trust that boy. He said.

does any guy in this house fully trust lucas...? gwen asked with a small frown.

I do. James said quietly. I can't exactly trust Mel and not Lucas can I? He pointed out.

do you mind if we let lucas yell at you without mel here? she asked him softly.

I don't mind, but why are you so determined to have Lucas yell at me? He asked her.

because you deserve it and its better to get something like that done sooner rather then later... she explained simply.

Fine, go get him, but make sure Kristy comes too. If he loses control she'll be the only one that can calm him down. James said confidently.

gwen nodded and orbed out. a couple minutes later she orbed back with luca and kristy with her.

lucas didn't look at james. he kept his eyes on kristy determined to stay as calm as he could.

Kristy gave him a small smile and held his hand reassuringly.

James didn't even look at Lucas, he couldn't, not with how he had treated Mel. He knew he deserved everything he got.

lucas gave her a small smile before looking at james with a frown. his eyes set in a glare and his free hand curled into a tight fist at his side.
you're pathetic... he finally spat at him. i knew i should have never trusted you but i knew that you made my sister happy so i went against my better judgment for her. but you bloody well blew it! you said exactly what she feared someone would end up saying to her. the one thing she never wanted to end up hearing! now she's too upset to even want to be seen by anyone! and you wanna know what's fairly ironic? she had planned on telling you exactly how she felt about you tonight. thats why she didn't want phil to hang out with you later to night. but no. you had to go and fucking blow it! he said to him in a dead whisper. his urge to punch him in the face growing with each word he spoke.

Kristy held Lucas' hand tightly, trying to keep him calm.

In a flash James was up and had Lucas agaisnt the wall by the scruff of the neck. You don't know a f*cking thing about what I'm going through. You think I'm happy I hurt Mel? Well you'r bloody well wrong. I love her, and the thought that I hurt her is killing me. What's killing me even more right now is that there's nothing I can do to fix it. He growled at the younger boy, his eyes flashing.

gwen looked over at phil quickly when james pinned lucas up against the wall. who were you worried about snapping again...? she whispered to him softly.

lucas glared at him as he brought his fist back as far as he could before jabbing it quickly into his nose. he could distictly hear it break under his fist as he suddenly brought it back down to his side. of course you can't fix it. no one probably can. you broke my sister you son of a bitch. he hissed out.

James didn't flinch when Lucas punched him. I will fix it, I have to be able to fix it. He growled still, determined to make Lucas see that he could make Mel better again.

no, you won't. i don't even want you looking at my sister let alone talk to her! seeing you will just upset her further you stupid git! i'd rather see her with blake then you! he fianlly shouted as he struggled to get james to let him down. the fact that james hadn't flinched when lucas had broken his nose freaked him out. he cold see the blood flowing from his nose but there was no pain on his face.

James slammed him against the wall harder. Never say that. His nowhere near good enough for her. He said fiercely.

Who's brilliant idea was this again? Phil asked Gwen pointedly.
