When James slammed the door shut he leant against it, not believing what he had just done. With a burst of anger at himself he threw his fist into the wall, leaving a hole when he pulled it back. Sh*t He mumbled to himself, cradling his fist in his other hand.

nick walked up to james' door and knock on it softly before opening it. he sighed when he noticed him cradling his fist and scanned the walls and sighed once more when he found the hole in the wall. knut for your thoughts bud...? he asked as he walked in and closed the door behind him.

James sat down on his bed. I think I just utterly screwed things up with Mel once and for all. He said.

nick sat down next to him and motioned for him to give him his fist so he could heal it for him, what'd you say to her exactly to do that...? he asked softly.

James let Nick take his fist. I told her that I was sick of her screwing with me, and that I wasn't going to follow her around anymore. And it's true. I can't handle her half the time acting as though she likes me and then turning around and acting like I'm scum. He explained.

nick nodded as he healed james' fist, have any examples of her treating you like scum...? he asked softly as he let go oh his wrist after he was done healing it.

Well, not the scum part, but she just always expects me to be there, and she teases me. One moment she's kissing me, and then she's calling me an idiot and walking away. He told Nick, flexing his hand experimentally.

nick grinned at that, she's definatly Em's daughter.... he chuckled. Em does the same thing to jono sometimes.... he explained.

James looked at Nick. She does? He asked, the worry starting to show on his face.

nick nodded, yeah. see Em can't really stay mad at jono so when he does something stupid she'll get frustrated with him and hit him a couple times and call him an idiot and what not. he grinned, kinda funny to watch them bicker sometimes. especially when she's trying to stay mad at him and he knows she's not.... he chuckled.

Crap. James muttered quietly to himself. This isn't good.

nick rose a brow at him, did she do something similar to that right before you ruined everything with her...? he asked softly.

She was hitting me and then she kissed me, and then called me an idiot and walked back into the living room. He explained softly. He stood up, I have to go talk to her.

nick nodded, yeah, if you're lucky if jono has been able to calm her down and don't forget...she has Em's temper too.... he reminded him with a small smile.

It's worth the risk. He said simply. Thanks dad. He added with a small smile.

nick nodded with smile as he stood up and patted him on the back, now go on and sell your soul and grovel and what not... he said jokingly with a grin.

James grinned and dashed down the stairs, more determined then ever.

mel poked climbed up to where she knew james' room was. easing the window open she climbed in and sat down indian style on his bed and waited. her face was empty of any expression as she looked around the room taking it all it. of all the times she had been there she never really took the time to look. wasn't there a saying that said you could learn a lot about a person based off their room? looking around the only thing it seemed to tell her was that james was a bit of a slob.

James climbed the stairs, really just wanting to get away from the rest of his family. He hadn't gone over to see Mel since the confrontation at St Mungo's and was considering sneaking out to see her. Opening his door he immediately spotted Mel on his bed a grinned. Hey. He said softly.

mel got up as james came in and went straight to him. her arms going around his neck tightly as she buried her face into his neck. her need to be held and safe to over powering for her resist it.

James hugged her back tightly. I'm sorry I didn't come see you sooner. He told her.

its fine... she said quietly into his neck before lifting her head to look at him. tears brimmed her eyes. this is all my fault though... she said softly as she looked down.

It's your fault that Blake hurt Lucas so that only your grandfather could cure him? And it's your fault that Eragon took Lucas away without a word to anyone about it? He asked her softly, determined to not let her blame herself for this.

mel nodded sadly as one small tear slide for her eyes and down her cheek slowly though she didn't bother to swipe it away. its my fault that my parents are arguing... she said quietly.

It isn't your fault. None of it is your fault. He told her firmly, gently wiping away the tear that fell.

mel shook her head, except the part where i killed blake... she muttered softly.

And if you hadn't your mother would have. He told her. He had hurt your brother and frankly, I can't think of a better time for you to have lost control. He added pushing a strand of her hand behind her ear.

its not just the fact that i did it...i know its justified its just that i don't get why i don't feel bad about it... she said softly as she glanced up at him before looking away once more.

James lifted her chin so she was looking at him. I don't know what to say to that but it doesn't make me see you any differently. He told her.

mel buried her face into his chest again, it should... she said quietly.

Maybe it should, but it doesn't. He told her honestly.

mel lifted her to look at him and gave a small smile. leaning up slightly she pressed her lips to his gently though it went deeper as a sudden need to be close to him filled her.

James returned her kiss, understanding that she needed this.

mel kissed him deeper as she wrapped her arms around his neck and had one hand run into his hair.

James wrapped one arm tighter around her waist, while the other went to her neck as he kissed her.

mel pulled back for a moment only to start kissing him again. inbetween kissing him she whispered his name softly. all of her vulnerability out for him to see and here as she clung to him.

James had looked at her when she pulled back, and in that moment she was more beautiful then ever. When she kissed him again he moved both of his hands to hold her face softly, his thumb running along her cheek slowly.

mel whimpered lightly as her need to be closer to him began to grow in intensity.

One of James' hands moved down to her waist and lifted the back of her shirt slightly, running his hand along her skin.
