Shaniers - March 26, 2009 04:38 AM (GMT)
Well seeing as JK Rowling announced it to the world...I guess he is.
Sirius_Black - March 26, 2009 04:43 AM (GMT)
Yeahh... if the creator of a fictional character says something about the character, it's pretty much non-negotiable.
Shaniers - March 26, 2009 04:50 AM (GMT)
Unless......she lied. Which I don't think she did.
Chocolat64 - March 26, 2009 01:21 PM (GMT)
... if that's true, Shaniers... maybe it was all a lie!
NOTHING IS REAL! AHHH!
*runs*
^_^
Nah, if she said he was gay, then he's gay. Which is cool. I think Dumbledore would look great in Rainbow, personally.
James.Potter - March 28, 2009 07:13 PM (GMT)
Haha, I agree. lol. Dumbledore's gay. And, according to Joe, he had a "relationship" with Gellert Grindelwald. :)

Cecilia Carter - March 29, 2009 04:58 PM (GMT)
I think its great that Dumbledore is gay, I mean someone had to be. In a wizard world that big, its REALLY hard for everyone to be straight (;
Chocolat64 - March 29, 2009 05:00 PM (GMT)
That's true.
^_^
Dumbledore is a great guy nonetheless.
So- anybody, male or female, would be lucky to have him.
lmao.
Cecilia Carter - March 29, 2009 05:02 PM (GMT)
Females would be especially lucky to have him because he doesn't want them...
I just blew my own mind.
Chocolat64 - March 29, 2009 05:04 PM (GMT)
I understood that.
:gap:
I'd date him.
:o
Vipera - March 29, 2009 05:06 PM (GMT)
I'd date him too. You know what they say about guys with long beards ;)
anywhoooo
I can see JK lying about it too though- just as a joke. But I buy that hes gay. Didn't he like love Grindenwald or something?
Chocolat64 - March 29, 2009 05:08 PM (GMT)
No, I don't. What do they say. o.0
My boyfrang has a beard.
Yeah, that's what I gathered from JK. So, it must be true.
James.Potter - March 29, 2009 05:41 PM (GMT)
Boyfrang? Anywho- yeah, Joe said that they had a relationship when they were teens. teehee, I have a beard too, but it's not long. haha
Vipera - March 29, 2009 05:56 PM (GMT)
Chocolat64 - March 29, 2009 06:03 PM (GMT)
rofl.
short beard = pedofile.
hahaha.
Watch out for Shawn then, lol.
Vipera - March 29, 2009 06:23 PM (GMT)
BAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH :D omg

your life is a lie and yeah the guy that played him was gay for sure.. idk about Dumbledore himself
Chocolat64 - March 30, 2009 11:12 PM (GMT)
Sirius_Black - March 30, 2009 11:12 PM (GMT)
Holy snaps. What's up Ivan!?
Vipera - March 30, 2009 11:14 PM (GMT)
so Ivan, you don't buy the gayness?
Ivan - March 31, 2009 04:57 PM (GMT)
pshh its matt u tard muffin
butt yeahh the guy that plays him is gay but there isn't any evidence in the books that he is gay. there is nothing that can support it, there isn't anything that provides substantial evidence to confirm these accusations of him in fact being gay.
Sirius_Black - March 31, 2009 10:38 PM (GMT)
My bad. :P
Couldn't remember your real name.
Righto. There really isn't any evidence to support the notation that he was homosexual. But there really isn't any to support Dumbledore being straight either.
It's pretty much just taking the author's word for it.
James.Potter - April 1, 2009 11:41 PM (GMT)
Zomg! MATT!! (Btw, I knew that before he said it, ^_^)
When you say Dumbledore, you mean Michael Gambon, right? Cuz Richard Harris wasn't gay....
Vipera - April 1, 2009 11:57 PM (GMT)
Ivan - April 2, 2009 02:39 AM (GMT)
Yeah but if the character were gay I think it'd be a little more obvious.
Chocolat64 - April 2, 2009 02:42 AM (GMT)
Well, Ricky, when the creator of an imaginary world tells you that one of her self-made characters are gay, I think you kind of have to take that as fact.
Ivan - April 2, 2009 02:50 AM (GMT)
well maybe she was just doing it for attention? why the hell does it matter if he is gay anyways hes an old guy that plays with a wand and runs a school full of kids..
Chocolat64 - April 2, 2009 03:08 AM (GMT)
lol, if it was a publicity stunt, nobody cared, because I didn't even know about the whole gayness factor until I read this topic, nor did I care.
Wasn't exactly headline news... lol.
Shawn Black - April 2, 2009 03:34 AM (GMT)
You actually could tell by the way he 'coddled' harry.. i mean, he wasn't a pedo, he was just, not into girls. He liked men better than he liked the ladies...
AND BRITT I RESENT THAT FACT ABOUT MY BEARD!
it doesnt grow long very fast... it just kinda grows and stays the same length... lol
Chocolat64 - April 2, 2009 03:45 AM (GMT)
It's because he never met me.
Chyeah. How could you NOT love women after meeting me, I mean- come on.
:eyebrows:
lol.
They have a name for your beard, Shawn. It's called, "The Amber Alert"
James.Potter - April 2, 2009 03:59 AM (GMT)
Pft. See, I dunno why this thread is still going....
If Jo wanted Dumbledore to be gay, then so be it. I don't think it was a publicity stunt. I think it didn't matter to Jo, as it doesn't matter to us. It never came up because Dumbledore's sexual orientation was not relevant to the overall plot of Harry Potter. However, if a fan or something of the sort asks her a question like that, she has to answer the truth. Just because it wasn't explicitly said in the books doesn't mean it's not a possibility.
So, she never would have said it if someone didn't ask her. End of story. :D
Btw, I agree with Shawn. My facial hair grows very odd indeed. It grows really fast then it just stops randomly....o.O
Guii - August 14, 2009 01:38 PM (GMT)
I DON'T BUT IT! Joe has ruined my favorite harry potter character. he was never gay he was always asexual. Joe did this all as a publicity stunt cause now that the books were done she had nothing better to do. her and her liberal ideals make her feel that she has some divine right to tell us a character's sexuality... i for one do not believe her since she had not specifically mentioned it in the books.
Pete Best - August 20, 2009 07:25 PM (GMT)
Honestly there her books she can pretty much do what she wants with them so if she says dumbledore is gay then theres nothing anyone can do about it *Unless someone has a time machine* and i definitely think she did for a publicity stunt to get more people to buy the books now that she got most of the anti gay people already shes got nothing to lose
Lici - August 30, 2009 11:30 AM (GMT)
I don't think it was a publicity stunt, because now she won't get any of the anti gay people reading, and there are probably more anti-gays, then pro-gays at the moment. I think she honestly always thought of Dumbledore as gay. To me it makes sense, it's not like she's gone against anything in the book, and anyone that starts to bring up the whole pedophilia thing between Dumbledore and Harry are just idiots (I don't mean anyone of this site, I've just had this debate with other people).
Guii - September 1, 2009 07:22 PM (GMT)
I just think that it has ruined my favorite character for me.
Pete Best - September 2, 2009 07:14 PM (GMT)
People say the same thing about Frodo and Sam in the Lord of the Rings movie doesn't make it true.I still think it was a publicity stunt just hear me out.Now if i were her and wanted to sell more books it would be a perfect way to do so,because you arent going to get many more haters to read the book if they havent already. But by saying Dumbldore is gay you will get a lot of new gay readers just because of that.Make sense?
Lici - September 2, 2009 09:59 PM (GMT)
Not really. A gay person isn't going to read a book just because there's a gay in it, just like straight people don't watch Will and Grace because there are straight people in it. If it's a publicity stunt it's not a very good one because saying that Dumbledore is gay isn't going to make gay people who haven't read the book suddenly go 'Oh my god...what have I been missing all these years?'
Guii - September 3, 2009 01:58 AM (GMT)
no its because she has nothing better to do anymore and she just wants to surpase oprah as the richest women and so she is just making that last and final push to get more money when she is actually being rally stupid.
