Title: Heath Ledger Gone!
purplespell - January 22, 2008 11:33 PM (GMT)
For those of you who do not know the news, but Heath Ledger has been found dead in his appartment in New York.
He was best known for his role in Brokeback Mountain and 10 Things I Hate About You.
My thoughts and prayers are with his family at this very sad time :(

It's awful!
When I first heard it is didn't believe it, but sure enough, it's true.
I still can't believe it. He was only 28!
Trash - January 23, 2008 12:20 AM (GMT)
Not even 30.
That must be hard for his family to take in.
weasley_twin_lover - January 23, 2008 12:28 AM (GMT)
i feel so bad for his 2 year old daughter. she'll never be able to know her father personally but only have his movies and TV specials about him. :(
nor_forty_four - January 23, 2008 12:29 AM (GMT)
Yes, that would be awful.
It's weird, I still won't believe that he died.
It's like I'm in denial of the death of someone that I've never met.
Trash - January 23, 2008 12:34 AM (GMT)
It's hard to believe it when a celebrity dies BECAUSE you never met them, you never knew them. They're at such a distance that you almost believe they're immortal and they're not "real" - that they're not human.
Also, they live on through TV and movies and such. So people can't ever believe they're dead because they're "still here".
Lady_Naerwen - January 23, 2008 02:25 AM (GMT)
I heard about that. Its so sad, I feel horrible for his family. I believe the cause of his death was overdose.
Its really sad, he was one of my favorite actors, and he was very goodlooking, and talented.
R.I.P Heath Ledger.

I'm still in shock I still can't believe that he's gone :(

I was like You're joking, right!!???? When my friend told me on messenger. I couldn't belive it. It's always sad when anyone dies.... So....
R.I.P Heath Ledger

I sort of had the same reaction I had when Steve Irwin died, I thought people were joking.
Lily Black - January 24, 2008 03:47 AM (GMT)
I agree about Steve Irwin. Very sad :( Had a young daughter, just like Heath Ledger.
Deep regrets and sadness over both of their deaths.
KerryWeasley - January 24, 2008 03:53 AM (GMT)
there is a religious sect that is going to protest his funeral because they are against gays and since he acted in brokeback mountain tey are literally going to be protesting his funeral which is horrible.
also it was reveled that he had a heroine addiction for years, and most of his friends were not surprised by his death because he was kinda messed up. which also is sad because he was such a good actor!
Lily Black - January 24, 2008 04:03 AM (GMT)
Saying this as a Christian: Protesting at anyone's funeral is absolutely foul and disgusting. Nobody who does this is a true follower of God.
It's a real pity that so many actors fall into drug and alcohol addiction. I guess it just shows us that fame's not the instant and all-lasting happiness that people give it credit for. In fact, I think that this expectation makes the problem worse. They think that if they become stars, they'll be happy. But when they become stars, they're not happy. They don't have the opportunity to make many real friends after their rises to fame. And since this expecation is ripped away from them, they feel jaded and cheated, and turn to drastic measures to satisfy their desires. And, sometimes they find that drugs make them even more depressed than before, and they kill themselves. Tragic :( Especially when it leaves children without parents, and wives without husbands.

I don't think he overdosed on purpose. They said they found sleeping pills around him, and I can't remember its name, but it was a sleeping pill that has been proven to have devastating affects. I think that something happened with the pill which caused his death. According to his family, he was really happy at this point in his life, he had his daughter, he had just finished filming one movie and was already filming another, all of which makes me think that his death was accidental.
Lily Black - January 24, 2008 10:07 PM (GMT)
Hmm... I had heard it was suicide. But better an accidental death than suicide. At least then, it gives the family less grounds to blame themselves. A sad habit :( Wish humans weren't so prone to it :(
Lily Black - January 25, 2008 12:58 AM (GMT)
That makes sense.
No telling what you'll find on blog pages about these sort of things. I've heard that they're mostlly unreliable.
blackforestschoolboy11 - February 14, 2008 01:24 AM (GMT)
I am sad for what happened to Heath.
But I think people as a society make a huge fuss on celebrities passing away and we turn our backs on the people around us who die everyday.
I know this is sad for some people but he is just another person who has passed along with hundreds of others. There's not need to grieve over another person you don't even know.
Trash - February 14, 2008 01:33 AM (GMT)
They ruled it as an accidental death from drug overdose, caused by mixing prescription pills... rather ironic that his prescription pills designed to help him, killed him. Sad, too.
Chago - February 14, 2008 03:53 AM (GMT)
Personally I could care less if he died cause I never noticed him, seriously. But what I want to know is if they will still show the batman movie, cause Heath Ledger acted as the Joker. Though I do respect him as an actor, I am little saddened at heart to see an actor die... again.
Trash - February 14, 2008 04:27 PM (GMT)
He's a human being, dude, you could have *some* heart.
And depending on how much of it he completed, they will either continue it and eventually release it or it'll be put on hiatus.
It's still slating a June/July release though, so I'm guessing they're continuing ahead.
weasley_twin_lover - February 24, 2008 05:30 AM (GMT)
i thought all the filming for it was done adn now they are just putting the pieces together...?
Lici - February 24, 2008 07:11 AM (GMT)
yeah, he had finished batman, but he was in the middle of filming another movie...which i dont know the name of, but i think thats been cancelled.
weasley_twin_lover - February 24, 2008 08:17 PM (GMT)
no, not yet. i think they are re casting for it...and they might still use scenes that heath did as like a different time or something...i don't remember what they had said on TV.
