Intro
In the beginning there was Nothingness; it could not be seen for lack of people to see it, and it could not be understood for the same reason. It was blacker than black, and all at the same time whiter than white, although some say it had no color at all. Then all at once there was Everything, and supposedly Nothingness was no more, but it did, in fact, remain – only in the deepest and most secret crevices of the newborn world. For many years it was hidden from the people. Alas, it has been touched. And the infection spreads yet.

Faeries are generally beautiful people, because of the magic that is bestowed upon them. They have the ability to remain youthful in appearance for hundreds of years (Faeries can live to be about 1,000 years old). That is to say, not only do they look young, they are also in every aspect young - they function just as they did however many years ago it was when they were eighteen. Some distinct characteristics of Faeries are their pointed ears, wings (generally like that of a dragonfly or butterfly) and delicate features. Most Faerie men tend to have effeminate qualities, though here and there a brutish, masculine one will come along. But it's rather rare. As far as magic goes, Faeries have no control over the elements except for certain earth-based spells (having to do mostly with the nuture and creation of plants). The only thing they can really boast about is their vast and varying psychic prowess. Meaning, they can read minds better than you know. Also, Faeries tend to be frivolous, careless, and spiteful creatures, prone to mischief.

Faeries, with certain quirks. For one, they are much more serious. Nithling skins tend to be duller and more pallid; their eyes are always gray. Other than that, these diseased creatures look exactly the same as their brethren. They have a much shorter lifespan, however; the Nothing that they touched seeped into their bloodstream and was distributed to many if not every part of their body. Once inside the body, the tempurature causes the 'Nothing' to dissolve and break down any cell it encounters, but at a painfully slow rate. Nithlings generally live to be 500 years old, at the most.

Very different from the ones you know, I expect. These Vampires, while completely unaffected by sunlight, still prowl about cheifly after dusk. However, they look like your average human. Stockier in build than most Faeries, they are often taller as well, but are limited to "normal" hair and eye colours. Dye does not exist; neither do color contacts, so don't get any bright ideas. Vampire weaknesses are few, but the few that exist are so dangerous that there is no need for more: a wooden stake that pierces the heart is an effective way to put a Vampire to death, as old fashion as it seems. Ice-cold water paralyzes them; snow obviously has a similar effect. Also, a Vampire can't enter your humble abode without an invitation (which cannot be forced - it has to be an invitation of pure free will). Vampires can live up to be about 200 years old or so, and don't really change in appearance after 20 years old until the last ten years of their life. The only way the can reproduce is by biting Faeries and converting them.
