Title: Post-Harry Potter Depression.
Description: Are you suffering?
nor_forty_four - July 31, 2007 02:31 PM (GMT)
After I finished book 7, I found myself extremely depressed, depressed that it was all over. Depressed that I would never open a new Harry Potter book again. Depressed that somthing I had dedicated so much of my life to, was over, gone forever.
did anyone else feel that way, or am I just psycho?
zamber - July 31, 2007 03:41 PM (GMT)
I didn;t feel depressed but slightly hollow because of the smae reasons but its not that wierd after going through seven years of Harry Pottrers life and a little extra.
Sora Saridian - July 31, 2007 07:34 PM (GMT)
It felt weird i wasnt depressed already am depressed extremly so that didnt really depress me i think it just felt it shouldnt be over there are so many more possible things to do with future books but that was the last the last sorta just left a empty feeling nothing other then that
Cade - July 31, 2007 08:42 PM (GMT)
I don't think I'm depressed with the ending of Harry Potter. But as soon as I finished the book I just went, "Okay, when's the next book coming out?" And then once I heard that J.K.'s going to be writing a Potter encyclopedia later on, and told us the professions of the gang, I just squealed and stuff. I'd say I'm just still obsessed with it.
Trash - July 31, 2007 08:45 PM (GMT)
I wasn't depressed... I just thought, "I hope JK uses more of this wizarding universe in other books". Not nessecarily a new series, just... keep using that world. Keep using the Potterverse - because it's a wonderful writing universe and it would be a shame to see it go.
LadyStar - July 31, 2007 08:51 PM (GMT)
I was glad when I read it. Every story needs an end and I was very pleased. It is a bit sad because the story could have gone on for much longer but that's it.
It would be nice if JK made an encyclopedia of the Potter-world though.
*~Nymphadora~* - July 31, 2007 08:52 PM (GMT)
I do and I haven't finished the book yet! (GASPS!) I am controlling myself. I would've been way done by now...I'm expirencing wheezing, chin quivering, eye tearing, dry eye, and depression.
nor_forty_four - August 1, 2007 02:27 AM (GMT)
Okay, well I guess I am the only one. haha.
Jaralee3 - August 1, 2007 02:30 AM (GMT)
Hmm yeah I kinda did. Also empty, but I get that way over movies and books alot. It's strange and it's a downer.
hermie_rox - August 1, 2007 02:48 AM (GMT)
Andie, you're totally not the only one. I promise.
nor_forty_four - August 1, 2007 02:51 AM (GMT)
Good, because I ws starting to feel like quite a HP-obsessed loser.
well, more-so that I already am.
hermie_rox - August 1, 2007 02:53 AM (GMT)
Dude, you have no idea how obsessed I've been lately. You are DEFINITELY not the only HP-obsessed loser, buddy.
*~Nymphadora~* - August 1, 2007 03:49 PM (GMT)
I'm an HP obsessed loser and I'm proud.

i felt the same way.
did you know there is hottlines to call.
because of the book and how people are going to feel after it.
but if you really think about it the book can go on.
and i think its going to be hard for jk not to write any more harry potter.
so she might go back to it.
you never no.
=)
nor_forty_four - August 2, 2007 05:24 PM (GMT)
Hotlines?? Awesome!
I kinda hope she does, but I kinda hope she doesn't.
Because it has to end eventually,
so why tell us that it is ending and then torture us by starting it again?
That is just mean.
Carissa Dodge - August 2, 2007 06:13 PM (GMT)
[Nymphadora stop spamming i deleted your post for it.
way off topic.
the cupcake thing was cut but now it has to be over.
stay on topic!]
i dont know why jk would do that to us. shes a meanie. lol

I sorry :(
JK Rowling isn't a meenie, she brought us HP in the first place
nor_forty_four - August 2, 2007 07:41 PM (GMT)
Yes, but it was very depressing to have it end, and if it she made us go through another end, that is just cruel. I have heard thatshe is doing another series though. But I doubt it can be as good as HP.
Carissa Dodge - August 2, 2007 07:50 PM (GMT)
i know she isnt
i truely love her.
Nymphadora its okay
Loony_lovegood223 - August 7, 2007 01:52 AM (GMT)
it was a good book, but i agree it was a bit depressing
crazzyfan - August 7, 2007 05:37 PM (GMT)
yeah.. because it was the last one.
can't think about it... getting depressed...

ditto
crazzyfan - August 7, 2007 05:42 PM (GMT)
now we wait for the encyclopedia.
Sirius_Black - August 7, 2007 05:44 PM (GMT)
Watch. Their going to try and buy HP off of Jk and try to make a tv series of it. Either about the future kids or the maurader years.
Doubt Mrs. Rowling would like that though.
crazzyfan - August 7, 2007 05:46 PM (GMT)
Hope that won't happen.
Bleck.
Grosse.
Harry Potter and Tv Series don't fit.
nor_forty_four - August 29, 2007 10:50 PM (GMT)
Definately not. The stories are good now, and a TV series would just ruin it. That's awful. I hope she won't let them do it.
zamber - August 30, 2007 05:37 PM (GMT)
What?! TV series!?! You got to be joking. That would be just wrong. If it ever happens I will chuck the whole collection of books and films at eh diretors head.
Cade - August 31, 2007 05:10 AM (GMT)
What? TV show? -jumps off cliff- How could anybody possibly even think of that?!
Well, recently, I've gotten over my PHP depression by reading the Twilight series' newest book - Eclipse. <3. But I'm still roleplayin', and Harry Potter's still awesome.
Dissonance - August 31, 2007 02:30 PM (GMT)
I was depressed with the sucky ending.
zamber - August 31, 2007 02:35 PM (GMT)
I was more hollow than depressed. But that was because it was all over.

I_LUV_Fred_Weasley - September 4, 2007 04:35 PM (GMT)
I was depressed and sad. Depressed because the series ended. And sad because of all the characters that died (atleast the good ones).
Lici - January 16, 2008 01:58 AM (GMT)
im kind of hollow
i mean, what do i do now that its finished?
theres no more things to question, no more theory's to talk about, no more debates on who will get together in the end, and no more looking forward for two years for the next book to come out
everything is finished
it sucks
weasley_twin_lover - January 16, 2008 02:03 AM (GMT)
me and my friends have decided that we will not get completely depressed about the last book until the 7th movie comes out on DVD. we think we still have something harry potter to look forward too....course i dont really want to see the 7th movie...i know ill cry a lot....just like with the book.
Lici - January 16, 2008 02:06 AM (GMT)
my friend and i thought of that, and it just made us even more depressed because they'll probably screw the movie's up, because the 6th and 7th books are our favourites (after the third) and we don't want them to screw up the last two like they did with the third
Scarhead - January 16, 2008 03:07 AM (GMT)
I definitely felt depressed... Harry Potter is gonna go down in history... and I can't believe it's over... but what'll really seal the deal is when the movies are over as well... then it'll truly be the end :(
Guii - January 16, 2008 03:15 AM (GMT)
I felt depressed... went to cry under my covers...
felt even more depressed when i fopung out my favorite chari was gay
Trash - January 16, 2008 08:25 PM (GMT)
I'd like it if JK did a series based on a future, post-Potter world at Hogwarts. It seems sad that such a world should die.
Guii, I'd be careful what you say. Anyone could easily, very easily, take your comment with offense,
